ya my horse did that. i thougth it was cos of the back sinch but then we tryed a breast collar and now he is fine! i think it was cos the saddle was slipping back as we rode. Beautiflu horse!
yes a saddle can be too small.. the tree can press on the withers and cause preasure and pain, wen running it applys too much preasure causing the horse to feel uncomfrotable so there for the horse will buck, @xxxRodeoluverxxx this horse is beautiful by the way
@kalapariplayer how could a saddle be too small? a saddle size is depending on the rider not the horse, unless it was a large western / stock saddle which then it relies on a larger horse. A saddle can never be "too" small
@HighRewards A saddle can most definitely be too small, there are different sizes in the bars of a saddle. This is not about the seat size, this is about the bars on it. There's not just one fit for horses, some horses are wider, some are narrower. Hence the saddles are different sizes
Were you refering to the back cinch? Because I have never seen any need for one in jumping. Jumping saddles do not have them and if you realy want to learn to jump you should not be using a western saddle.
Although, how come you didn't just put the camera down and concentrate on catching her. If it really was hurting her surely that was more important than videoing her circling the pen twenty times?
She's got lovely movement though. She must be gorgeous to ride?
hahahaha southern accent I hear. I'm in the south too, but GA. I love the yelling at the dog part. "SUZIE HUSH!!" haha, that's the south for ya. I just tried a tom tumb bit on my TB and he freaked out three times w/ it. thought i was in a rodeo, haha.
damn fine looking horse, looks like she is gonna be a good horse when she fully settles down and gets used to the saddle, thats how my horse was when i first got him
haha "SUZIE HUSH" haha you make me laugh, i love your accent, its so fun! are you from TX. i am too,but i'm in dallas, my horse bucked like a bronc when i got him his back cinch, pure bucking for about 9 mins. i was laughing the whole time, horses are so funny, mines a bay like yours but he is a gelding
well good luck with, well whatever she is bucking about XD
you obviously have not seen much natural horsemanship the whip is an aid to keep them going forward so that they can get use to the saddle...obviously she is being broken in.
err membersmanger if you read up top you will see it is the 2nd girth making her do it.. which is normal for horses that arn't broken in with them.... she is broken in.
if the back cinch isnt right up next to the skin a horse can get their leg stuck in it. Some people let it hang because they think a horse will react like bucking horses and their flank straps but its just a accident waiting to happen. They have the cinch right in the vid
wow very beautiful horse! she looks like she has great potentiel. lol watch out tho she looks like she has sum attitude/respect issues cuz shes turning her butt 2 you, dont b suprised if shes an excitable little horse lol
My gelding did the same thing when we started training him, everyone told me he would never buck it out, blah blah blah, anyway he is just fine, I just had to keep working with him. You have a beautiful mare on your hands and she looks like she has great potiential. Especially how she almost slid to a stop when you said woah...great job
nice mare, she has really nice striding, shes a gorgeous horse, what did her prevous owners do eith her or had they not ridden her before you got her? because it looks like she has had some training on her and they did a good job on it too.
What are you going to be using it for? A spills & chills type of video? Horses gone bad or something? You can use it as long as my name is used as well, "rodeoluver" on the bottom of the clip.
-Thanks, and of course, thanks for asking first. ;)
The back strap isnt too tight, you can see it hanging down at 0:38. (Of course im an english rider!) But yes, i agree, that saddle is probably too tight. Can you fit a hand between it and the mare's withers?
i ride only english too, but i think its a second girth that keeps the back of a western saddle on. its like mainly used in barrel racing i think to keep the back of the saddle from coming up around the turns!!!
LOL I am glad it made you laugh! If you check out my gelding bucking, the buckskin? I have a'nuther bucking horse video clip, well Susie, my little basset hound, goes in there and he kicks at her so hard (misses of course, she's so short, LMBO) but he sure does get her outta there! LOL It's so funny.
ummm ur teaching her to buck wit the saddle she should be on a lunge line so that u can send her foward and pick her head up when she bucks to teach her it bad cuz all ur doing is showing her its okay to buck...and no it doesnt hurt
absolute beautiful horse.. and thats really good you were trying to calm her down and reasure her she was ok !!! most ppl would prolly flip out and beat the horse.
with all you say shes done...it sure doesnt look like shes very experienced with all the comotion.10? my horse is 10 and hes bombproof...took me a long time to get him there keep working!!
