Hell, yeah! I haven't heard this song in years but it would still pop into my head at random times throughout all this time. You know when a song influences your life when it stays with you and comes to mind when faced with situations that are talked about in it. Being a misfit all my life, I can relate to this song. Punk for Life and passing it on to my son.
Seem to remember seeing The Mob at Stonehenge Free Festival around 1978 think it was them they were all about 14 at the time and brilliant certainly made a change from all the hippie music.
Phew!- after much searching [An Ex-whitesnake band called The Mob and a hard core "punk" band from the states called The Mob!].........it is confirmed that this The Mob ARE playing together with Zounds for the first time since '82 at the Fleece and Firkin in Bristol on the 8th of April [see Zounds Myspace thingy]. Hope you can make it.H.Hx.
@UnicornFlavors Thanks for the lyrics. Is it not 'Idle plans for the idle rich' then? I think I preferred it when I thought that's what the lyric was...
My bass player threw up over Marks feet @ one gig in islington; as anyone who ever saw/knew the mob will tell you, Mark went everywhere barefoot so it wasnt such a great night for him that night
'Destroying anything that doesn't quite fit'... Sound familiar? It could be the NF, The BNP or the UAF (a bunch of violent fuckers who, ironically have become the most Facistic Witch-Hunters in the country). There's no Fanatic like a Politically Correct Fanatic!
@philchelt Yes i think they made quite an impact back in the day,i've found let the tribe increase in alot of vinyl collections. The mob doing a gig would be a definite go to on my list and i think alot of others.
Yes this is the original single version from 1980 - the LP version is crap in comparison. Scream courtesy of Geoff, as used as the answerphone message for All The Madmen records..
Saw them at the Fulham greyhound about 83, the singer Mark was awesome, looked like a soap infested dreadlocker and they'd have this older bloke in a beret throwing flowers about, often wondered where they all are now.
Thanks for that, myself and another YT user realised we both saw The mob at the Fulhan greyhound in 83 and we both remember him and wondered who he was, Cheers.
Sounds similar to The Cramps, The Ramones, even Black Sabbath. Not bad at all.

Stubbing out progress where seeds are sewn.
Killing off anything that's not quite known.
Sitting around in a nice home - Waiting for the witch hunt.
Ideal plans for the idol rich - Knitting the economy, not dropping a stitch.
Destroying anything that doesn't quite fit - Waiting for the Witch Hunt.
Still living with the English fear, waiting for the witch hunt dear. (x2)
Changing your course for another way - You better stop that or be willing to pay.
Nevermind son you'll come around some day.

I think you're right, those aren't all of the lyrics.. but it just repeats some of the lines from earlier in the songs.

@hascatty misheard lyrics are great, though. That's the thing with art, once you put it out there, people tend to make it their own.

we're all still out here. Older but no less anarcho. it's the revolution of everyday life and I'll teach my kids.
smifffff747 2 years ago 20
I wish my parents had done that !!
As a kid I never understood people like you.
I did not understand life, only myself a bit.
But now I understand after Zeitgeist, and after that David Icke and Alex Jones teached me some beginning in opening eyes....
Still do not believe in aliens and shapeshifters tho. That's something that has to be seen in a bit more figurative way i think.
