tom waits is a great artist. he proves u don't need a great voice to make great music. plus, this teamed him up w/ another great artist, the almighty jim jarmusch.
very artistic.... youtube is like a big city full of advertisement.. but maybe in a little street.. or in a dark alley, you find art... like me in this moment here.
I first discovered Tom Waits a while ago, and have loved everything he performs but the set of music I found that really got me was a compilation of songs turned into 1 great long creative commons MP3 about a 1/2 hour long entitled Dark Carnival and you get a couple of his songs in this wild entertaining circus story , it's very surreal and I highly recommend it , and it can be found here
Happy listening,

The line artifacts are pixelated. Nothing wrong with that, but I did laugh. Made me think about how far technology has come, when with digital encoding with perfect transcription has to be munged up to simulate the errors of the "real thing". Good vid.
I posted up my Tom Waits video for you...from one Waits fan to another. I liked your video a lot. How / what did you use to take the video of the cat?
Thanks man. I love your video, so well suited to that track, it's just mesmerising.
As for my video, I used a standard digital camera and then experimented with all sorts of effects on Windows Movie Maker, pretty basic really but I think it sort of works.
I see your vid got a mention on the Eyeball Kid blog too, congratulations!
This song is about hamburgers. The loneliness of the fried meat. The pointless existence of the melted cheese. And, the toasted bun says it all ... dry and barren. Go on ... eat it! eat it! eat it! You foooools haaahahahahaha! Dead meant for dinner again.
I love this song. Its atmosphere (Slavic-sounding, mystery-cultish, Jewishish) and the lyrics (inverted hills, a seperate world) make me think it must have been inspired by Marc Chagall. Of course, I'm wrong, but stubborn, too, so I go on believing something so specific and improbable. Marc Chagall.
666th! That's wicked bad! (The joke has nothing to do with denotation of "wicked" or "bad"... it's all in the implied Southie accent. Because living in South Boston would be like living in Hell, wicked unending misery. Hell is where the devil lives. And, you know, 666)
Great video! So simple yet so brilliant! Perfect for Tom Waits.

This is one of my favourite Tom Waits songs. As I can't find the CD, I recorded it from the speaker of my TV when watching Night On Earth.

Haha, I did that too!
