Just about the tightest, plot-setting opening credit sequence evah. However, even as a small kid circa 1960 I recognized the rest was low-budget cheese. Such as the Daily Planet being just about the only newspaper in film with only 3 reporters, each with a private office, so the producers didn't have to hire a horde of extras.

Do the homework. He invades the US from Krypton wihout papers...an illegal immgrant. Flies around without a pilots license or a flight plan...criminal and suspected terrorist. Clark Kent / Superman? ..suspicion of idenity fraud. Drapes himself with the American flag..a Teapartier. And in any era you wish to defend, any one who runs around in leotards....is a pansy. It's a damn shame a fine woman like Lois Lane is wasting her time,at home, pining for him.
I love this show . I have the entire series on dvd. I wish they aren't cancel it but, under the circumanstnaces they had no choice. P.I.P. George wherever you are.
The episode that gave me nightmares for weeks back then was Superman and the Mole Men. Though it was actually filmed as a 58-minute movie, it also served as a 2-part episode in the series. This had Reeves and Coates in the Lane character. I had nightmares about those mole men coming up out of the ground thru that shaft at night! lol
I'm 57 and remember watching the Adventures of Superman when I was a kid. It sure was great when it was on TVLand a number of years ago. I remember telling my kids about the episode "Panic in the Sky" and they thought I was pulling their leg until it was on one day. One of the best episodes ever. Yeah, a bit cornball for this day and age, but in the 50s, shows like this were great. We were afraid of the cold war and this was a good escape.
jkdmai, got news for you, kid. There are probably millions if not hundreds of thousands of us who are over 50 or 60 or older prowling around YouTube. Where else do you think we get the chance to see some of the shows we watched growing up, or hear songs we grew up with? Do you really think people our age are not capable of being tech/net savvy? Wow, are you in for the surprise of your life. Wow.

This takes me back to being a little kid inthe early 50's. This introduction was just one more thing that made me proud to be born an American.
