My dad use to race karts when he was younger, then he went into single seat homebuilt car racing. I was bought up playing around with toy cars and even at the age of 5 or 6 i could drive the f1 game on pc with no asists. Now i am really good on the xbox @ forza 3 and F1 2010. I can drive with no assists on the hardest dificulties and win. I have tried karting and really enjoyed it, i would love to get into it but it cost too much. Does anyone know were i could buy a cheap kart.

I have my own kart but can't really afford to race it often so I take part in a championship based in my region called club 73. they're a lot of fun and since you only have to pay to enter the race, it's a lot cheaper than entering a kart series which requires you to own your own kart.

@Wasakracker79 It's a 2-stroke. Don't know exactly what engine it is, but usually it's basically a 250 out of a dirtbike that's modified to work with a kart. There is a clutch lever that is used to get them moving, then it's shifted without the clutch.

They're extremely fast. Not exactly something you would be able to just jump in first time and be good at it. If you're looking to start karting look at about a 100cc non shifter, or even something running a clone or an animal motor.

great video and great driving. The engine in your Kart, is it a 250cc Rotax? I would assume it's the newer style liquid cooled version. I own and run classic motocross bikes that use the Rotax 2 strokes.. Do you have any pics of the engine.

I have data from a Superkart AIM data logger at nurburgring: they brake at 1.4 G´s and turn at 1.8 Gs. Thats all the tires can offer without aerodynamic downforce. However they do accelerate (positive longitudinal G´s) as fast as F1 cars

Lol an F1 car can pull 5G+ in cornering and braking and the only reason they can get anywhere near those numbers is the 4,000 - 5,000 pounds of downforce they make. An F1 car could theoretically drive upside down at as little as 80mph.
