  • THAT Sound!

  • amazing car great video. Huge props for having this car on display

  • Porsche Moby Dick fantastic!

  • This video went viral on Montevideo

  • This video is a favorite on N'Djamena

  • Operation of a driver is slightly rough.

    It is over a curbstone!

  • Seems like he really having to fight that car, guess 800bhp is a bit too much for that car.

  • Zum niederknien, eine echte perle des motorsports. Awesome

  • @SunnySunGER ich würde eher sagen ein Ungeheuer. Das Ding war ja kaum zu beherrschen. :)

  • When that thing hits the turbo... HNNNNNG

  • Moby Dick has a spool, making it understeer like crazy on cold tires. However, it was designed for the Le Mans, not for twisty tracks. Moby Dick wasn't a very successful racer and it looks like mr. Ortelli isn't trying to win a race here, he's obviousely trying to keep an extremely rare 800+ bhp monster in one piece while enjoying driving Moby Dick. Rare footage of an extraordinary Porsche, thumbs up!

  • Stephan Ortelli needs a lesson in driving a 935. . . some one call Klaus Ludwig please!

  • hm bin ein luder

  • 0 driving skills... bad steering, even worse downshifting & no idea on how to keep revs up to make sure the engine is inside it's power band when exiting curves. Poor Moby...

  • seems like tis car is faster in straight and slower in the corners (wider)

  • Pilota ko ! :-(

  • Wrong setup! Sorry Mr. Freisinger! To much understeer..

  • @alexj1530 And how!!

  • what brand are those orange wheels?

  • Très belle vidéo!!

  • Oh don't worry about the talent of the driver , driving a 935 is already something very difficult , but driving it on a circuit with a lot of very expensive car is worse , so he's not taking a lot of risks . You can't see on the strait part that he's not full throtle , and the turbo lag on those car can be very ( VERY ! ) dangerous ..

  • I think the apparent lack of pace is down to the settings, he's much quicker in a straight line but not so fast round the corners, probably le mans settings or something.

  • not so talented driver...

  • @Toni19880214 relis son palmares et on en reparle!!

  • @Toni19880214

The few numbers of the third and final version of the 935 named "Moby Dick" are made for only the characteristics of the "La Sarthe" racetrack /aka Le Mans/.

  • beautiful car but damn turbo lag :(

  • Didn't go flat out!

  • Whoever this guy is driving he needs to get out and take a taxi!

  • why are the wheels dishes ?

  • @TylerStump1 They are cooling fans for the brakes!

  • @TylerStump1 To reduce turbulance and to promote good airflow. Judging from the vents around their circumference, I'd imagine they would also help to improve brake disc cooling by drawing in concentrated air as the car travels at speed.

  • perfect car, but coureer :S

  • wow..great video....love it!

  • Is he a bit slow, no offense, but everyone is overtaking him.

  • well the car seems to work fine and the driver also seems to be experienced..!I think the setup in the front is a bi wrong or maybe some downforce issues...!!!but as everybody saying it looks and sounds great...!!!

  • @dutchm4n11 Nothing to do with the car. It's aerodynamics were ahead of its time.! The missing component was either Jacky Icx, Derek Bell, Vic Elford, Walter Rohrl or me of course ;)

  • @sonicstep i'm aware that this car was ahead of its time as you say but i meant that the setting on that wasn't suitable for this track..i didn't mean to offent the car in any way....!! :D

  • beautiful cars at a beautiful track :)

  • Respond to this video... I don't know if there is a problem with this car. Stephane Ortelli is a very good driver and won a lot of races. Maybe you are right that he is just taking his time and nothing else.

  • @mssb1975 Yes it looks and sounds great. Not quite sure why you are defending the driver performance. Is it an endurance race? Usually when you allow a bunch of cars to go by you on the start and then on the first few laps it is that you have a mechanical problem. Drivers do not allow themselves to be overtaken so easily even in an endurance race. Sure they might not put up a big fight, but this guy is going backwards. Maybe the car was not working well although it sounds OK.

  • An exercise in loosing places. Shame a great car does not have a great driver.

  • @Trackstar2211 you might want to consider this is an endurance race, so your position after the 5th lap doesn't say that much...

  • @sammieboj As a racer I consider loosing several places, not hitting the apex and basically cruising a poor effort. But that just me.

  • @Trackstar2211 what I ment is that all of them shall have to pit once, some will brake down etc,... The real race starts later on, in an endurance first you got to survive the first half...

  • @sammieboj Yes you are probably right. Just waiting out his time to pounce, LOL.

  • A beautiful piece of history

  • any one know how much psi this thing is pushing? Im sure it must be alot judging from the giant boost gauge :p

  • @xsupermanx987 Wikipedia says the "moby dick" have 845 ps

  • Turbo laaggggggggggggg but soon as those bad boys hit its like everyone else hits the brakes

  • does anybody know what that red car was at the end?

  • @MrPorsche91730

    Ferrari 512BBLM

  • @motorsportvideo Oh ok thanks man, I thaught it was a ferrari. Is it just me, or did anyone notice the driver in the Porsche was really trying to make sure the ferrari did not beat the Porsche, he might of been able to keep it behind if he did not overshoot the turn at 8:35.Great video though man. Thanks for not putting some gino beat with this . Its nice to see that not everyone out there is an idiot

  • @motorsportvideo

thx for that i thought it was a modded Lancia Delta S4 lol :P

  • @MrPorsche91730

It is a Ferrari 512BB LM very fast car as a Porsche 935/78 "Moby Dick" is.

  • @SaturatedLivingTV [ driver wasn't making the most of what he has ]

...dude. This car (if it's an original and not a copy) is one of only TWO ever made. It's 30+ years old. The owner(s) have a lot of ...courage, to even take this thing out on the track with other (less priceless) classic racers running around, some with wealthy amateurs behind the wheel. Would YOU hang it all out in that situation??

  • Over 800 bhp :O

  • this car isss fastttttttttttttttttttt

  • I think these cars can reach more 211 as I have books of Porsche that said that.

  • @DJTRANCE2011 Thats true it has a topspeed of 230+ mph

  • Really wasn't doing well on the brakes. Fast car down the straights but the driver wasn't making the most of what he has everywhere else

  • most tracks are driven clockwise, better balance when the driver seat is on the right side.

  • Does anyone out there on youtube know why this car was built with right hand drive ?

  • @john289 Safer driver change in the pits? I dunno.

  • Unique footage from the most iconic race car Porsche has ever made with a 911 shell! Thank you so much for uploading this, i really enjoyed it!!

  • Geniale Startsequenz...

  • Thanks a lot for the video. Do you know the max speed it reached in this video ?

  • @jandri2 If i recall correctly over 9000 mph.

  • @Klodust Thanks for the reply but i ment speed like km/h , not engine speed (rpm). These used to make their max hp around 8000rpm.

  • @jandri2 Just search the phrase over 9000 and you'll get the joke

  • @SaturatedLivingTV LOOOL, i didnt get it at first. Yes i knew the Dragon Ball thing.....its over 9000!!!!!!!!. lool. hahaha.

  • Stephane Ortelli

    Lucky man !!!
