Nice truck, I've always liked the crew cab short bed Fords a lot. I'm a fan of any nice looking truck. Should google search Plasma rope. Ships use this for spring and breast lines while docked in port. It doesn't snap when it breaks it simply falls in place. That is if you can get it to break in the first place ;) This is also used on tug boats to tow ships weighing (loaded) 100,000+ tons.

@acethedisturbed maybe it's bc I'm a crane operator and I do a lot of rigging on a daily basis but u alway alway check ur equipment n4 u use it and if u have a 3/4 in chain that truck most likely can't snap it if ur worried about a hook coming undone put a safety bolt in the chain for backup I have 3/4 " chains I have used to pick up 15 ton with without breaking
@prenicker we use a 3/4 in log chain broke 2 brand new ones pullin a buddy out one was the hook and the other was the main chain glad i used a couple tires to put the chain through so it didnt hit the truck lol!

@prenicker A chain may be stronger, but the problem is if a chain breaks (and sometimes they do) you have a flying hunk of metal instead of just a flying piece of nylon.
Chains DO break ...they can hurt people....and do more damage! Maybe you dont know how to choose the proper rigging equipment. Everything breaks winch cables, chains, straps, esp when you do a rolling tug cause the load you put on the strap if not only engine power but momentum built up by the rolling vehicle.
Since you are smart you should know that chains, even tho they are strong shouldn't be used for any kind of shock load right? Thats why they make straps.

@prenicker A chain may be stronger, but the problem is if a chain breaks (and sometimes they do) you have a flying hunk of metal instead of just a flying piece of nylon.

Chains DO break ...they can hurt people....and do more damage! Maybe you dont know how to choose the proper rigging equipment. Everything breaks winch cables, chains, straps, esp when you do a rolling tug cause the load you put on the strap if not only engine power but momentum built up by the rolling vehicle.

@prenicker actually to straps are alot better than chains. first off the right strap taken care of right is just as strong. and secondly when a chain breaks it stretches like crazy and when it goes it isnt good a strap is a much better option.

thats not horsepower, thats just a pussy tow strap, why wouldn't you use a 60,000 to 70,000 pound tow strap. i know they are expensive but its better than a big ass dent in the tailgate.
