Thanks it is great to see what Mamady is doing now. We have been drumming here in Downeast Maine since 1991, subsisting on the few workshops from Mamady and Famadou we had the opportunity to take!
I admired the last player most... he played the "motor" for all the others and when he finally took the opportunity to play at the end, it was beautiful, clean and melodic!
don't know how much experience you have with polyrhytmic music, but you can be pretty sure that they put every single beat at the exact right moment. the better one knows west-african percusion, the less weird and chaotic it sounds and the more you hear the beauty of it.

Since the drummers are playing, they can not collect the "dash" that Mamady has given them so he collects it and hangs onto it for them. He also keeps things running smoothly.

Hy all,
my two pence on this video:
I like the beginning of the second drummer, melody in there. Also I like tighness of the third solist.
But, besides all technical wow, it seems to be a somewhat tensed atmosphere.
Hardcore competition, happy people missing.
Relax... smile...? It won't hurt, I bet :)
Be Well :°)

That's what I'm talkin about. Everyone should take turns soloing. Pass it around! A hot female drummer!
