I've always been more of an import guy, but I gotta admit... These crown vics and grand marquis were nice. Big ass comfortable reliable old fashioned cars. If I could afford to feed a thirsty V-8 I'd consider one of these, but I'd prob get a mustang instead LOL. I like speed more than comfort.
This car is Mercury's flagship; it's also a very reliable, comfortable, safe, and fuel efficient car. What's not to love about it? When you own one of these, you don't want anything else.
"In Mexico, this car was called Ford Grand Marquis".
It's also called the Ford Grand Marquis in Canada. In Canada the Mercury name hasn't been used in about 10 years. Grand Marquis production is ending in 2011.
I've always loved the Grand Marquis's, it's a shame they won't be making them anymore, wasn't 1994 the last year of the full size Ford's that came with the 85mph speedometers?
lemme tell you this if u keep this car, it will last forever, very reliable and despite it's V8 uses less gas than an SUV i got a 1993 and properly taken care of, still runs like new
They will still be making it lol, currently as I write this the Grand Marquis is the best selling car in Mercury's lineup. May 09 sales figures show sales are actually up from May 08. Go Figure!
Both the Ford Crown Victoria and it's cousin the Mercury Grand Marquis are said to be gone in, or after 2011. It is a shame I agree. I've heard that the St. Thomas assembly plant in Ontario, Canada (where these are made along with the Lincoln Town Car) is only operating on one shift nowadays. No word on the Town Car being terminated. The FCV and MGM will indeed be missed. The Mercury nameplate is used only in the U.S., and even that brand's future is in question now.
In Mexico, this car was called Ford Grand Marquis. My dad owns a Mercury Grand Marquis and in mexico my uncle owns a Ford GM. its got different make but same look.
U could get these cars in good condition for a $1000

After the Obamaification of the auto industry, do you think the Grand Marquis' days aren't numbered now?
