Run the banjo for 3 months, although I play the piano forever and some guitar, banjo was the instrument I wanted to play and now (at 66), I indulged. It helps your video, thank you.
A big hug from Buenos Aires, Argentina, Jose Luis.
muy agradable escuchar en el "tempo" justo.Estoy tocando banjo desde hace 3 meses, si bien toco el piano desde siempre y algo la guitarra, el banjo fue un instrumento que quise tocar y ahora ( a los 66), me dí el gusto. Me ayuda tu video, muchas gracias.Un fuerte abrazo desde Buenos Aires , Argentina, José Luis.
(Te escribo en castellano, pues veo tu identificacion como Granada, ok?)
This song is so much better sounding in open G tuning .That tuned down fourth string sounds kinda crapie when you just use it on the G-- C at the end of the sentence..Have you tried to use the fourth on up the neck part with the F-G-F-G-C part .If you learn to do that then you got a great sound going for you.Only way it sounds full in C chord.. Try it you will love it...Still you did a good job in C Nice
Hey, did I notice your band is playing again? Just wondering, but could you possibly make a video of the entire group doing Home Sweet Home, and maybe one of Lonesome Pine Breakdown, please? Oh, about Lonesome Pine Breakdown, it was originally done by the Lonesome Pine Fiddlers, not Don Stover, as I once thought, his version simply is one of the better ones of that song.
great job on this...sounds similar to the scruggs version, but with a good personal tweek. I need to add the rest of the song when I get the chance. Keep up the good work!
Hello Brent
Very nice to hear in the "tempo" adequate.

Excuse me but I thought you would speak Spanish.
I was confused by "Granada", sorry.
God bless you.

It sounds like you are throwing in a 2nd string 4th fret? Its a good sound, did you do that? Takes some of the 'sweet' off it. Really pretty
Aubergineberger 3 years ago
Yes I did.....gives it a down play between the higher G note and the D note by forward rolling using that D#....I've heard Earl do it. Thanks!

Another Great Example of some classic pickin'

is that banjo a Deering or a Scruggs edition (Gibson mastertone)? Looks like you been picking it hard the way its all worn off!
bigdjindustriez 4 years ago
It is a '90 Gibson Granada reissue with a Blaylock ring.

Great. Allen Shelton in my opinion had the best version with the D tuners.I think he played when he was with Hack Johnson. Ouch that makes me old.

Have you seen 2ndgenerations version with the D tuners? It's really good.
carteru93 4 years ago
If Barry done it, no doubt it's good. Don Reno did a version with D-tuners.
Granada90 4 years ago
I'm gonna have to hear that one! But Barry's is probably just as good!

Fantastic!

I like the way you start the 2nd part by hitting the first string/5th fret instead of the open 5th. nice ending, too.
oagige 5 years ago
Thanks. That's the way I always saw Earl do it.
