This was by far the best thing i ever did. Thanks Jake!

  • Hi there, I'm not a guitarist but was just wondering..that nice jazzy sound..is it coming from simply using this type of guitar?.. In other words if you could play any song on it will it automatically sound jazzy or does it really boil down to your composition and the chords that you play? I ask this to know what is the difference between this guitar as opposed to other types out there.

  • @chekkygurl18 its really on the way you play it but the hollow bodys (the guitar he playing )have a nice tone perfect for jazz, blues even country

  • Whenever I'm feeling down I watch these videos, and it's all better. ;-)

  • Thanks!

  • I like!

  • You have great taste in music. I'm loving the nusic you are choosing to play. I bet you get plenty of wedding gigs, at least I hope you do! who do you idolize? Of course everyone loves Wes Montgomery. Thanks for sharing. I really like your playing. I wish I could play guitar, how long would it take to be competent on a song?

  • Thanks! Yes, I do play a fair amount of wedding ceremonies. I doubt anyone playing an instrument starts out thinking "my life's ambition is to play weddings" so obviously I'd rather tour the world playing concerts but in today's economy , plus a declining appreciation for the arts, I am happy for every gig I can get. Also, I usually arrange a song on the spot, mostly on the gig because I don't practice much. My knowledge/skill are from a jazz background which really helps a lot. Thanks again!

  • I can play this version over and over and over............and never get tired of it!!

  • Avesome! Great performance boy!

    Congratulations!

  • 5 *****

    gagi

  • So smooth, so lyrical. You more than anyone have the balance just perfect between illuminating a piece with interesting jazz harmony while honouring the features of the original composition.

  • and a very special girl named pascale

  • I was in France this past December and part of January and they were playing on the radio nonstop a Canadian singer by the name of Pascale Picard, I think the song was called Gate 22... Thanks for your nice comments.

  • really nice job man ,seems like you'll never disappoint me, sides this song reminds me highschool years, thanks for that

  • wooow nice nice good realy nice

  • EXELENTE...

  • nice nice we are from mongolia moogii ariukaa and temuujin good luck !!!!!!!

  • nice version

  • Utterly brilliant, well done mate, stunning playing :-)

  • wow

  • How do you strum? are both the fingers used for bass while the other three are strumming the rest?

  • I mostly just use the thumb for bass and the rest for the rest. Thanks!

  • remarkable!

  • Lovely relaxed technique Jake. You can really groove and I can hear a lifetime of work in your playing. Check out Fred Thelonious Baker on you tube (guitar and bass), as I think you would really relate to his playing. Thank's for sharing your playing. Nige.

  • Thanks for the nice words. I'd be happy to jam with Baker any day!

  • perfect!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • i love that youre playing an ibanez with a 175 in the background! their jazz boxes are highly underrated, and you help show that you CAN bring a brighter sound to jazz...good vid.

  • This is incredible!

  • Just amazing!! How do you know so fastly and easily which notes to play and which not??? Could you aame couple of things (about music theory/technics) that are most important to become skilful player?

  • Thanks! The disappointing (or encouraging -depending on your attitude) answer is a lifetime of practice, nothing much else...

  • Typical answer for professional :)) Many years have already gone by so I don't have anymore the whole lifetime to use ;) There must be some basic thing that are more important than the others?

  • Hmmm... OK, try this: Work out the melody of a song, learn it really well. Then, prepare a plausible bass line. Then slowly, one note at a time, put them together. Don't worry about the rest of the chord, in time you will add additional notes. $50 please... :-)

  • Fine and thank You! Now we have the same frequency. Can I use VISA? ;)

  • rls22 -- Just to extend on the answer a bit (I'm a fingerstyle guitarist as well): Mr. Reichbart's beautiful playing here is not entirely improvised. What many of us do is to build a good structure first -- as Reichbart mentioned, it's good to start with the melody and the bass. Learn some chord theory to help you with chord selection (and use your ear). You then have a great song foundation on which to add the smaller improvised touches that really make it all come alive ...

  • This is a wonderful jazz song!!

    I really got into it!!

    smooth, sweet, nice touching

would you mind sending me a tab?

    thank you!

  • Very nice!!!

My guitar looks a bit like yours lol.

II love the little improvisations you add in...very cool :)

  • the best rendition i have heard here =)

im a metal person, but i really love jazz.

would really love it if you have tabs for this ?

  • Thank you! I have metal in my heart too, check out some of my more recent videos as they are lead style with backing tracks, you might find some traces of metal there. I don't have TABs for this or any of my music. However, of you're willing to pay, I can certainly prepare some for you, contact me through my channel for more details. At any rate, please don't forget to subscribe. Thanks again!

  • Hey that was a great arrangement of a nice melody. I've always been a big BeeGees fan and How Deep is Your Love, was always one of my favorites.

There were and are a great talent and Barry Gibb, is an incredible writer and arranger and has written for everybody who's anybody in the business and made them rich as hell doing it. He's that good. lol

You really make it work on guitar. I think I'll try my hand at it next. Thanks for the inspiration and fantastic playing. Peace.

  • Thank you!

  • I thought I was in an elevator. Ha! nice!

  • Thank you, I'll take that as a compliment (although I'm not sure when was the last time I heard any music on an elevator...). please don't forget to subscribe, plenty more videos coming.

  • Gosh. this is great. smooth sounding=)

  • Sweet, keep up the great picking

  • excelent cover...great job..i think you improvise in some part of the song or maybe im wrong but in my opinion a think is great.

  • Thank you. Yes, there is improvisation because I present this as jazz which, in part, to me means to take a solo over the form.

    Don't forget to subscribe!

  • Beautiful! I subbed you!^^

  • very nice!

  • Thanks so much, please subscribe as well, I plan to upload plenty more. Thanks again!

  • i love your tone its so warm..

  • super version. five stars
