totally AWESOME dude ur chords are just amazin, im sitting here at home with our guitarist and hes just blowin away and i mean blowin away, great stuff jake ur the man dude
To all veiwers: I bought this DVD about a year ago and all i have to say is IF you want to expand your chord progressions...trust me BUY HIS DVD's! Jake explains everything step by step and makes it easy to understand. I was at a stand-still for a few years but when i learned this song, i took a whole different road! This was by far the best thing i ever did. Thanks Jake!
Hi there, I'm not a guitarist but was just wondering..that nice jazzy sound..is it coming from simply using this type of guitar?.. In other words if you could play any song on it will it automatically sound jazzy or does it really boil down to your composition and the chords that you play? I ask this to know what is the difference between this guitar as opposed to other types out there.
wow fuckin class!!! I love the way you look so bored! ha ha and don't even have to look at your guitar! and I really the variation the second time round, Great arrangement and playing skill keep em comin!
That's a very nice comment, thank you! Still, please check out some of my more recent videos for more cool songs with better audio/video quality. Thanks again!
I bought this DVD bout a month ago and its absolutely great!! it took me to a whole new world!!the step by step really comes together,i never thought i would ever......... i seriously recommend to buy it!
You have great taste in music. I'm loving the nusic you are choosing to play. I bet you get plenty of wedding gigs, at least I hope you do! who do you idolize? Of course everyone loves Wes Montgomery. Thanks for sharing. I really like your playing. I wish I could play guitar, how long would it take to be competent on a song?
Thanks! Yes, I do play a fair amount of wedding ceremonies. I doubt anyone playing an instrument starts out thinking "my life's ambition is to play weddings" so obviously I'd rather tour the world playing concerts but in today's economy , plus a declining appreciation for the arts, I am happy for every gig I can get. Also, I usually arrange a song on the spot, mostly on the gig because I don't practice much. My knowledge/skill are from a jazz background which really helps a lot. Thanks again!
You were in touch a couple of months ago with a nice comment about this song. There is now a DVD lesson available, please let me know if interested. Thanks!
One things for sure. You will never be without a job. You could play at a hundred places I know of. Heck you could even get the one's I cant. 5 stars. Great work.
Thank you very much! Times, specially here in Michigan, are quite challenging, I'm just trying to hang in there... And if you do have some work you can send my way, please let me know. Thanks again!
Thank you very much! Yes, I do have two official solo guitar CDs. More info about them can be found under the Audio button at my personal website. Please let me know if interested in ordering. Thanks again!
Really enjoyed that Jake. I will definitely be looking into your cds. I have studied with Dave Dana, at the Hartford Conservatory here in Ct. I enjoyed it very much. He has a couple of vids on you tube also, if any one wants to check him out. hes a real great guy, and a great guitar player. Thanks Jake, for continuosly bringing us, new high quality material to savor all the time. I really appreciate how much work you put into making these videos, Shane

Thanks, I appreciate it. Kindly take a moment to check out some of my more recent stuff, say from the past six months, for much better audio and video quality and for some more interesting song choices. I enjoy your music as well!
Very nice, I love this rendition. Sorry if you already answered this (I didn't have time to read all comments), but what kind of guitar is that? It has a beautiful sound...
So smooth, so lyrical. You more than anyone have the balance just perfect between illuminating a piece with interesting jazz harmony while honouring the features of the original composition.
I was in France this past December and part of January and they were playing on the radio nonstop a Canadian singer by the name of Pascale Picard, I think the song was called Gate 22... Thanks for your nice comments.
Lovely relaxed technique Jake. You can really groove and I can hear a lifetime of work in your playing. Check out Fred Thelonious Baker on you tube (guitar and bass), as I think you would really relate to his playing. Thank's for sharing your playing. Nige.
i love that youre playing an ibanez with a 175 in the background! their jazz boxes are highly underrated, and you help show that you CAN bring a brighter sound to jazz...good vid.
Just amazing!! How do you know so fastly and easily which notes to play and which not??? Could you aame couple of things (about music theory/technics) that are most important to become skilful player?
Typical answer for professional :)) Many years have already gone by so I don't have anymore the whole lifetime to use ;) There must be some basic thing that are more important than the others?
Hmmm... OK, try this: Work out the melody of a song, learn it really well. Then, prepare a plausible bass line. Then slowly, one note at a time, put them together. Don't worry about the rest of the chord, in time you will add additional notes. $50 please... :-)
rls22 -- Just to extend on the answer a bit (I'm a fingerstyle guitarist as well): Mr. Reichbart's beautiful playing here is not entirely improvised. What many of us do is to build a good structure first -- as Reichbart mentioned, it's good to start with the melody and the bass. Learn some chord theory to help you with chord selection (and use your ear). You then have a great song foundation on which to add the smaller improvised touches that really make it all come alive ...
Thank you! I have metal in my heart too, check out some of my more recent videos as they are lead style with backing tracks, you might find some traces of metal there. I don't have TABs for this or any of my music. However, of you're willing to pay, I can certainly prepare some for you, contact me through my channel for more details. At any rate, please don't forget to subscribe. Thanks again!
