@camburns1 considering you havent played electric that much i would get the epiphone les paul standar because you dont want to get a bad taste in your mouth from your first electric guitar (im not saying the epiphone les paul 2 isnt a good guitar im just saying a beginner guitar has no real value)
@camburns1 well, epiphone les paul special 2 is really a begginer guitar, they arent that great compared to standard. In my opinion (not knowing how expierienced u r with guitar) I woiuld go for the standard. It will be worth more while.
Just bought one and I could have had anything from the Epi range but, and this is the thing it is the best sounding straight out of the crate oh and mines heritage cherry sunburst
@jameschoi999 The plus (this one in the video actually isnt, stupid Dr. Epi.) has a flamed maple top on it. The Standard (theyre both called standard, one is called plus top and one is called plain top) does not have a flamed maple top. Its basically you pay $50-$100 more for the flamed maple top. I have a 14 year old plus top and its a great guitar =)
gibson could not beat fender's stratocaster which in fact where made for mass production, screw epiphone give us fender made in mexico, and gibson should do the same if they want to compete with their nemesis fender, make cheap original gibson les pauls in mexico
@skylineXpert Gibson's are way better than Fender. And so are Epiphone's. Fender is just jealous because Les Paul made a brilliant idea and he was known as the guy that copied him.
@Rangerhalt1 Tone is completely subjective, you cant say that gibson makes better guitars, although personally I favour gibson over fender. A fender strat uses single coils which have a lot more clarity but I think they lack the thickness and punch for rock. The strat model however has easy high fret access as opposed to the les paul, as well as a tremolo, but then again so does an SG with a bigsby.
@Jacoustiic a normal LP standard has a plain mahogany top(its just the guitar body), while the LP standard plus has an extra layer of maple glued on to the mahogany body. the maple top gives the look with the "tiger stripes". just google some immages of Les Paul's and you'll get the idea. hope this helps you
There is not much difference between the les paul models of epiphone. They use the same tuners, pickups ect. only difference is the neck and the coulors (Humbuckers and metal) and color of the body.
do you mean the Chinese Gibson Les Paul replicas which you can buy for $300 from Chinese Wholesalers or are you talking about the Epiphone Les Paul? -i bet you never played a Les Paul yet,,, not even an Epiphone Les Paul...maybe not even a Fender Squier...
bought her today, her name is stephanie
