  • .....encouraged me to go natural. I feel you on being cautious on what I put in my baby hair. I can't wait to see more of your videos. Your fam is beautiful.

  • I am new to being natural. Got my BC a couple of days ago but I transitioned for 9 months. I noticed while my "new growth"/"natural" hair was growing in that it was jet black. I always thought my hair was brown but I guess it was the chemicals in the relaxers that was altering my hair color. I am learning so much about my hair and what it is truly like. I love being natural and your videos really inspire me. I have a 3yr old (lol her nick name is Baby) and seeing her hair grow is what....

  • I just had to sub :)

  • put that baby in tv she gorgeous!!!!

  • it's fine and a beautiful hue. let it be. I had a whole head. you got tips. just let it go don't cut it.

  • I have black hair & I'm almost 40 yrs old. So far the only things that have turned it brown: that baking soda, relaxers, Sun-In, hair dye, & bleach. I'm sure there's some chemical in the MJ to make this happen. I'm sorry but glad you shared this. I haven't tried any of their items & now definitely won't bother.

My children have brown hair that lightens in the summer. There are some prods w/sunscreen, also hats & trying to reduce the sun exposure should keep hair from going much lighter.

  • I'm newly natural and I just subbed to your videos. I will NEVER order from that company. You and your family are so beautiful. You are such an awesome mom. There should be more like you. *hugs*

  • Hi! Sorry about that comment that i post i was so tuch about that, i was taping so fast. But i hope u get what i was trying to say.

  • Hi! I know that u did this video about 7monideo th. But i had to comment on it. When i seen this video of u crying, i seen that u r a good mom to ur kids. We need more mom's like u. I cryed when i seen ur videos.I'm a mom of 2 kids n one on the way n i know how u fell about ur kids cuz, i feel the same about my. GOD is good whan he made u a mom! Keep it up cuz ur kids need that.

  • she is so cute you have a beautiful family.. and i will carefully consider and research before i use a new product

  • so brave of you. we all take risk when we use a new product. if we did not take the risk we would miss out on the right product. so sorry you had to go through that.

  • Yours too!!!!!??? I have been trying to figure that out myself, lol.

  • You show such love and concern for your children ...it is so beautiful to see. You have nothing to feel guilty about. Miss Jessie's handled the situation in a cold, callous manner. It will cost them customers, as it rightly should.

Research is so important. There is a reason that Miss Jessie's does not list the product ingredients on theie web-site. I will never use their products.

    God bless you.

  • adorable

  • OMG Thank you a million times for this vid. I just ordered their products and thought I had finally found something. I did the shingling ...it was horrible. The products were over priced and( I researched) and not natural. I am throwintg that crap out & will never order from them again!

Your babies hair is beautiful but I feel your frustration. Thanks for letting us know...hopefully their business will come to a screeching halt!

  • dont worry your baby has good hair you can tell you look after your babys hair

  • i could just eat her! She's adorable

  • WoW!!!, I'm shocked. I would be pissed too if that happened too.

  • wow! and you know I thought about trying missjessies?...i saw the color change in your baby's ends....I will NEVER use that product, I hope the damage will be able to be repaired! :}

  • so what turned her hair

  • She's gorgeous!!!!!

  • okay is anyone noticing that the baby is totally fine and happy-we should be mindful of how we react and handle situations-do what you need to do but dont stress her or make her feel that something is wrong-as kids we start to form concepts by watching our parents-and we shouldnt experiment with our children at all-although natural their hair and scalps are different-why not just use a basiic shampoo conditioner and moisturizer

  • cfour69 - you must not have natural hair! LOL! The line of products this woman uses IS for natural hair. It IS basic shampoo and conditioner, just for curly/natural hair. It's no different than "experimenting" with basic shampoo/conditioner. Most of what you would describe as "basic" has harmful ingredients that hurt our black hair. Like alchohol. Sheesh!

  • Lil Baby is fine with it because Mom did a great job of hiding her disappointment for the child's sake. That's what any great mother would do. But Mom still can't help for getting upset. I would be furious.

  • You know, its funny that I come across this video now. I too had jet black hair like the girl in your video and I used a product I believe in high school that make the top of my hair (the parts exposed to the sun the most) turn brown. I didn't know how that happened buty I thought it was cute at the time too. I was relaxed at the time for only 2 years when that happened. When I went natural I noticed it grew out black again. Sorry this happened to your kid but THANK YOU for sharing.

  • Thank you for commenting . from stepf

  • her hair is still beautiful...to me

  • Her hair is sooo beautiful. Hopefully you all can recover from this damaging situation and get back on the right track.

  • Just for that, I'm never gonna use missjessies ever. And I will definitely be spreading the word.

  • Just make sure it's deep conditioned regularly to be safe. It doesn't seem to be too drastic, my natural color is about like that so don't feel bad as long as it's not breaking. You are right to not continue using it though.

  • Maybe the ingredients had a reaction in the sun or with other ingredients left behind from your previous products? Just a thought. Anyway, it's just hair which will grow back and your daughter is soooo cute. You're a great person!

  • thats messed up how lady didnt really seem to care about your baby hair!. if that woulda been here in that situation she woulda been mad and she know it!.but dont you dare be thinkin you a bad mama for that! but your lil girl hair is so pretty as well as her, i used to have hair like that before the perms, which is part of the reason im going natural, (maybe i'll get my texture back)

  • That was a cold letter, quite impersonal and not easily moved.....

What kind of compensation / response would have made you feel better.....I am so sorry this happened to you...but yo' lil' baby girls is sooooo cute, and she has the prettiest hair.

You are still a good mama too....

  • I'm not surprised at their response. I recently had a negative experience with the staff, too...

Because of the incident, I dont know that I want to purchase any more products from them. It happened quite some time ago, but I'm still peaved!

  • ..oops ..peeved! LOL

  • That's a shame that Miss Jessie's responded to you in such a fashion. I recently became a subscriber to your vids, and just be glad nothing truly damaging has happened to your daughter's hair. I've never tried Miss Jessie's before, but after seeing how they handled your situation, I have no interest in doing so. I currently use the Wen product line by Chaz Dean, and it's a cleansing conditioner that can be used on relaxed and natural hair. You have such a lovely family. Stay blessed!!

  • You have a lovely family, such positivity! I hope that company does right by your family. It's wrong what happened to your daughter's hair, so I hope the company doesn't try to play it off or string you along or present some other type of stressful mess. But, do tell your daughter that her hair is divine! What do you use daily in her hair?

  • Your daughter's hair is lovely. I'm curious. I noticed they don't have the ingredients listed on the web site. What kind of products do they have listed on the bottle? I'm wondering if there was a chemical reaction between the ingredients (whether or not they were natural or un-natural). Can you post a picture of the ingredients label?

Take heart and you know you love your kids. You're a good mom.

  • ill go look and give you an update soon !

  • she's so pretty.

  • Thank you lovedresses1

  • im trying not to but her hair is so long and i might need to . thank you for your comment

  • you didnt like MsJessie's butter creame , i havent tried all of her products

  • They called me 4 times and said they will do an investigation

  • I have to agree with Cutiepie, i have 3b/3c hair and Miss Jessie's products didnt work for me. I stopped using it. Desaundrea has some awesome receipes on her site.. you might want to try it and see. Much love.. Ty

  • im going to check that out , thank you micaiahty

  • all I have to say is this... miss jessies is overpriced and overrated.

but that's just me. :-) and I have 3c/4a hair and Miss Jessie's is totally jacked up on me. I've tried EVERY thing they sell. over it.

    thanks for sharing!

  • your welcome , from familygoingnatural

  • you can moisturize her hair with natural shea butter (the hard kind) washing her hair with black soap (the soft sticky kind) oiling her hair with virgin coconut oil (the expensive kind) oh and condition her hair with mayo and egg (from ya kitchen). it dont get more natural than that. and you save a lot the products i just listed under $20 miss jessies $50+. please keep your viewers posted with lil babyz hair. much luv

  • thank you for the tips ,

  • i also would suggest not cutting her hair because then you would have to start cutting it every 2 weeks because the hair would become bushy from the triming. I WILL SUGGEST, however carol's daughter products or making your own natural stuff (saving money).

  • i'm going to be real. a lot of these new products always claim to be natural but are not. always smell and pay close attention to the color of the product. her hair was striped which means there are some type of chemical (bleach or peroxide like ingredient) in the product... STOP USING THIS ON YOUR BABY'S HAIR. if that was my child i would be so angry.

  • you are so right !! Meeyahx,

  • Actually Miss Jessie's doesn't even claim to be a natural hair care line. People have decided to give it this label because a few products in don't use certain ingredients. It's an overpriced product with cheap ingredients. You can buy higher quality all natural products without the fillers (mineral oil etc.) for 1/3 or less than their prices. I'l never understand why they are still patronized.

Family going Natural - I would definitely publicize this vid more so others know. Thanks!

  • She is such a doll. See just by looking at her anybody can see that you take really good care of her and her hair which means you are a very good mother. And not only that when I watch all of your videos I can see that you have a great personality and spirit.

  • wow thanks hehe , and lil baby says thank you ,249 money

  • I see you are a loving mother and what a wonderful journey you are all experiencing. I have been watching all of your videos all day! If I could swap for a day with a family for a day it would totally be yours! Keep your head up and continue to be the happy family going natural!!

  • thank you for this comment , from familygoingnatural

  • So sorry this happend to your Lil baby. Please don't be down or beat yourself up. It was a mishap. I totally agree with Shida. Just leave it be and watch it closely. Take a good look at her ends and if they are not split then just allow it to grow out. Her hair is still gorgeous as ever. Wow at the length and shine!

  • she needs her monthly cut so ill keep a very close eye on those ends ! thank you cheekqueen

  • She is beautiful...her hair looks healthy, Maybe you can wait a few weeks and then cut some of the ends off.

  • yeah i was thinking that same thing , redgirlt

  • you are a beautiful and strong mother. And I hope your daughters know that. You didn't know you made a mistake so you dont have to beat yourself up over it. It was simply testing out a product. We all learn with trial and error. Just dont buy any of her crap again...I know i wont be.

  • I can see what you were talking about, If it's that brown with hair grease or some kind of oil it must be light after a wash. I don't know if i believe it was the sun after the shampoo in one day though... my hair turns red in the sun, but i have to be out in it hours a day for a month and even then it's not on the ends only. I don't know... But I do know that it wasn't your fault and it's a shame they got all corporate on you..

  • thanks for the comment ayamejoy

  • I'm sorry this happened to you and your daughter. Please don't beat yourself up anymore. {{hug}}

Cut the ends off...she's young and her hair will grow back in no time. :)

  • thank you L.Bellatrix

  • Thank God that it did not mess up the texture or it's falling out! She's a doll!

Continue to use Fructis for Lil Baby and Qhemet Biologics for you and forget them, I mean the rest!

  • thank you for the comment itshot123

  • cut the brown ends of.

  • Hey lil baby! You are so cute on camera. I'mma get you with a super soaker one day...yes I am girl! LOL

  • hehe, lil baby is fast with the super soaker you better be practicing LOL

  • I have a questions??? If it's not chemically altering the way the claim, then what is in the shampoo??? Are there a list of ingredients? LIL Baby Hair is beautiful!!! so cute.

  • i have to check it out ill get back at you with that , and thank you

  • She's a lil cutie! And I can't see the brown as pronounced as I thought I'd be able to. It looks like it may be a situation like so many others have described...where the sun and chemicals in ANY product may have mixed and cause a reaction.

I think she's fine--please erase the guilt Mama! You're doing a fine job by all of your babies! :-)

  • It wasnt from the sun, that was a shampoo.I took a picture of it in the sun so you alll can see it,she never went outside before that picture and if she did went outside I still wouldnt want a shampoo to change the color

  • I hear u. I wouldn't want anything to change the color of my hair either...not even the sun.

Now, let me ask u this: Why would u want to cut the brown ends off, IF it's otherwise just as healthy as the rest of the hair? I'm just curious and trying to comprehend the logic.

Also, I'd like to know what the ingredients were in that product. Was it any different than ingredients in OTHER shampoos? Maybe the YouTube community can help u to find which specific ingredient is causing the problem!

  • There's a youtuber named Desaundrea....who knows a lot about chemical sciences as it relates to hair products. If you do a vid on the ingredients in that hair product, I'll forward that video to her and ask that she provide her thoughts/knowledge on all of this.

  • im going to cut the ends of b/c its time for her montly trim and ill take a glance at it later and get back to you Kookie28Krisp

  • Now she's two-toned like her Auntie Rashida a.k.a. ShidaNatural. My tips are lighter than the rest of my hair and I get so many compliments. As long as her hair is healthy. If you see the ends splitting, then I would trim, but if not, just let it be. She likes it, and so does Auntie Shidat... lol. This is another reason y i wld never use Miss Jessie's again. I stopped using curly pudding it made my hair feel dry & brittle then later found main ingredient was Parrifinum Liquidum (MINERAL OIL).

  • oh really, thank you sister Auntie Shida hehe

  • she is so cute and pretty hair..she looks just like u 4 real!!

  • aww thank you

  • lil baby's hair looks good... I know how you feel though. I wouldn't cut it because it looks healthy and it will grow off.

  • aww thank you (i try, i try LOL )

  • What a beautiful little girl and OMG that hair!!!! I'm a Certified Product Junkie, but I have never been even slightly interested in Miss Jessies over priced products.

  • Wow I seen vids 1 & 2 Trust that does not make you a bad parent. I mean you got in contact with the company and handled the situation like a parent. So you know bump what others may think. You may be able to your natural hair salon and show them the product and get their opinion. But since you clip the ends and you are allowing lil baby's hair to grow back out it will be okay. Her hair is still long and beautiful. Oh and nice pic of the family at the end.

    Stay Up My Sis

    Ashton

  • thank you so much

clarksistazfan07 , ive talked back to the company and they told me they are going to do an investigation on the product , and they sent fed ex here to pick up the product , as soon as they get back with me I will let you know

  • she is too cute! her hair is beautiful

  • thank you tober1387

  • Her hair is beautiful. The hair maybe naturally changing colors. The summer time it may become even lighter. My childrens' hair is like that. You can't cut it off because that the way its going to be. Have a happy hair growing healthy.

  • when I was applying the product I realized it was changing her hair color
