Lebanon is now a predominately Muslim country. However, this wasn’t by any means always the case. Until relatively recently Lebanon was primarily a Christian country in an Islamic world. The Muslim invaders in the 7th century were not able to conquer the Christian presence in the mountains of Mount Lebanon.

I just watched a lecture given by a Lebanese woman who told of her family's experience during the war. She blamed it on the Palestinians who had come to Lebanon after they were kicked out of Jordan. They then worked with the muslims of Lebanon to start a Jihad against the majority Christian community and set up check points pulling out christian families and killing them. They wanted a base from which to attack Israel and they hated the Christians and started killing them. Just like in Iraq now.
Actually, 1) Christians are only a tiny minority in Iraq and 2) Palestinians are an opressed group there (being displaced, expelled, killed, etc. by the majority Shia militias because they were favored under Saddam and the Sunnis).

Izetbegovic had a separatist islamic movement for years before the war broke out. Yugoslavia was a patchwork of people (mostly slavic people) with various religious faiths due to the close proximity of two competing empires; The Austro-Humgarian empire and the Ottoman empire. The Serbs clung to their Orthodox faith throughout centuries of occupation and were routinely persecuted for it. They were butchered by catholic zealots and islamic foreigners too. Serbs owe no apologies.

Lebanon is now a predominately Muslim country. However, this wasn’t by any means always the case. Until relatively recently Lebanon was primarily a Christian country in an Islamic world. The Muslim invaders in the 7th century were not able to conquer the Christian presence in the mountains of Mount Lebanon.

I just watched a lecture given by a Lebanese woman who told of her family's experience during the war. She blamed it on the Palestinians who had come to Lebanon after they were kicked out of Jordan. They then worked with the muslims of Lebanon to start a Jihad against the majority Christian community and set up check points pulling out christian families and killing them. They wanted a base from which to attack Israel and they hated the Christians and started killing them. Just like in Iraq now.

And the Serbs in Bosnia in the 1990s "of course retaliated" mostly against Muslims fully 50 years after "they had been massacred and ignored" by the Christian NDH regime.

Yugoslavia was a patchwork of people (mostly slavic people) with various religious faiths due to the close proximity of two competing empires; The Austro-Humgarian empire and the Ottoman empire. I know who the Lebanese Christians are. And I know Bosnian muslims are slavic. That is exactly what I said. I know they converted and I know they did it under pressure and for advantage. It would be like a Christian army invading Lebanon and imposing taxes on none Christians and encouraging those who converted by giving them power over their muslim neighbours. Bosnia is majority Christian and it always was. The Croats and Serbs still live there. Republika Srpska is Christian. Serbia did not invade Bosnia either. What you call ''Bosniaks'' are just Serbs who converted to islam under Ottoman rule. That is a fact and you can wriggle all you want. The truth is that Turkey itsefl is really Byzantium and it has been occupied for centuries. The Hagia Sophia is a church which they desecrated. They didn't build it. Christians built it.

Romans are from Italy. Central Italy. And they conquered most of the world known to them. Europe, western Asia, north Africa. Yes, they massacred, deported (including all Jews eventually), etc. Roma was very genocidal at times actually. But at least they were religiously tolerant, unlike the Christians.

So I'll give the example of Spain. The Muslims who took over Iberia created a GLORIOUS civilization there. It was the most advanced in whole Europe at the time (which was in dark ages) and thrived for hundreds of years, until it was completely destroyed by unwashed (literally) Christian fanatics from the mountain kingdoms. The same Goths who basically destroyed also the Western Roman civilization before, and soon created havoc in America and destroyed the advanced civilizations also there.

All their colonies fought US-aided revolutions to get rid of the Spanish royal oppression. Once Spain started losing empire, it became just laughably poor again. When they fought a civil war, it was fascists vs communists. (The fascists had the Phalanga organization, which was also the name of the Christian far-right militia in Lebanon war.)

Also just about enyone invaded some other nations at some point of history, took over their territory and made it "their own". With relatively few exceptions, such as the Irish in Ireland (but just look at the history of nearby England), Chechens in Chechnya, aboriginal peoples of Australia and NZ, some others, mostly primitive and isolated. I mean, almost everyone else. Even the Japanese actually invaded Japan from Korea, it was not theirs in first place (the islands belonged to Ainu people).

Almost everywhere else, someone's "own land" was someone else's before it was lost to the newcomers (and were pushed elsewhere, occupied, exterminated, or assimilated). Now Muslims were there for hundreds of years, so it was their land. They became "natives". And it was better then what the Goths had to offer, to Iberia and to the world.

And Al-Andalus was not just better than anything in the Christian world, it was also batter then the Islamic world (the direct opposite of the newly-converted and much more warlike Berbers, who were kind of the Taliban of the time, and too created havoc in Iberia when they came to "help"). When you talk about Palestinians you should remember that Christianity was amongst the people of Palestine long before islam was.
