I think the book and the video were both amazing and i also think if Michael J. Silver tried completing that it would be an awesome movie. But really REALLY great job on the video ! =)
A brilliant book...and a very good adaption so far. Keep at it. (Who cares if it's true or false...as long as the story is authentic. And this one is).
You have a very real insight to addiction. I've been there, so I know. I celebrate by sobriety 2 years on April 29th 2010. Just wish I could quit smoking cigarettes. I find this is the hardest addiction to kick.

by teh way if someone wants to see a movie that is the closest adaptation of the book i would recomend seeing "City by the Sea" with James Franco as the drug addict its exactly how i portrait James in the book just with shorter hair.
wow thank you. i will check it out. i am into drama and basic bad stuff when it comes to books or movies. i like movies based on drugs, death, etc.. its really interesting to see someones point of view. recommend me more stuff if u want lol.
A little too much emotion for James. He was just a shell on the outside and confrontational at times, but he never really seemed like he was "cheery" or whatever. Decent makeup though.
wtf?! whats with all the great actor comments. you weren't believable, you were overacting, and i question whether you actually read the whole book...your nothing like the character.
Interesting concept and good construction overall. I wouldn't fuse Ken and Joanne into the same figure. The interview is given by Ken. Joanne is sympathetic and compassionate and Ken is regimented and hugely more antagonistic than Joanne.
Also, James needs to be much more zombie-like and project a tougher exterior/shell. He feels shitty inside but always locks eye contact. You could add in more narration to convey his inner hostility and sense of worthlessness.
Everyone's aways going to have their own views on the book, I suppose it just depends on the person. I thought it was amazing.
Same goes for the controversy, some will feel cheated and lied to but personally, if it made the book a better and more gripping read, I don't mind that he altered some of the truth. Most films are "based on true events" and perhaps this should have been stated from the start but shit happens. I don't think people should let themselves get too wound up about it.
i dont get why everyone cares whether or not he fudged details or not. its not like it falsifies the whole idea of being an addict, being in a clinic, suicide, depression, or any of the other things. it just adds interest.
all these people that feel like frey "conned them" need to grow the shit up. because its just a fucking book. and a great book IMO.
I agree. It's a great book! Those who enjoyed the story should take it as just that, a great piece of work. Movies do the same thing, its called taking artistic liberty. Maybe if audiences were told the exact real story, they would not find it so exciting!
reguardless if the book was true or false he wrote it as a lesson to other addictors and readers i really loved this book because its as if your him i think the book was amazing and i would recomend it
a million little pieces was a horrible book. it portrayed addiction in a completly false light and he lied about many situation in the book to make it sound better. just an aweful book
And even if the movie was half as good as the book, it would be a very hard movie, or should i say heavy movie. Even the book made me feel uneasy too many times.
no matter what, my interpretation will always look better in my head, but considering, this was simple. Not sure about the acting... a little too enthusiastic maybe... maybe it's just my interpretation of Frey in the book who seems more gloomier...
James Frey's book is amazing ...who cares if he exaddurated parts? its called artistic lisence... maks it more interesting. It wud hardly be dramatic if he was worried about going to prison for like 3 weeks :S
you did a great job on this. not exactly how i pictured james [but i didnt even picture him to look like him... if that makes sense] but just right with joanne. crazy.
cool clip...i would love to see this book become a movie! i think everyone should read this-those who do drugs, did drugs, or have never done drugs. It's eye opening.
I suddenly realize that James Frey and a lot of other people lost a lot of money since "A Million Little Pieces" could have been a movie based on the book.
i feel inlove with "a million little peices". it help me deal with my dad's adiction. I am still heartbroken from when i found out how much the book was fabricated. however, the book may not be true, but it is a beautiful story, and this adaptation of the book was just brillient. keep up the good work. i look forward to seeing more. i wouldnt mind seeing some other characters such as lilly and leonard
Serious? This is good. James Frey wanted it to be emotionless, careless. This guy uses to much care, and some sense of sarcasm in his voice. James Frey pictured his character as a stone cold, constant eye-contact.
For Christ's sake, cut the voice over narration. You don't NEED any of it. You're supposed to be making a movie, not a book. Why film anything if you're just going to recite every dang word from the book over again?

A Million Little Pieces is definitely one of my favorite books.
but I don't think it should be a movie, the book is too amazing as it is, the movie would never live up to it.
but it would be a great movie nevertheless.
Kevin Spacey would be a great actor for the part of James.
