Phil blamed back pain for his temper? I can tell his a big assholes just from the way he talks and the way he acts. I like Pantera's music, but there's a reason the other guys didn't get along with Phil. He just comes off in a very abrasive manner and I'm just watching him on a video.
all this of a reunion is kinda pointless as vinnie hates phil and blames him for everything including dimes death, so they'll never play on the same stage again. wish it wasnt true but....
every band, sports team,family,work...has their highs and very lows. To rise you have to fall....Pantera did fall and by the grace of god they will return to finish this amazing once in a lifetime journey. They are all loved by each an everyone of us that watches this and we hope nothing but health and happiness whatever their decision but.....i hope one day i can sing along with them again
@warumbinichgeil Dime had many friends that would love to fill in for him and play in his honor. Zach,Kerry just to name a few. Of course the original band will never play again we know this.
Okay man, you stay home staring at youtube video's while I go see Vinnie and Phil doing some anniversery tour. Im fine with that.
Of course they'll never be the same, but what the fuck is up with the denying negative attitude man? I'd give anything for even the smallest piece of live performance of a Pantera song by 1 or 2 of their members.
@Brutalyeah uhm ok, but they shouldn't call themselves "Pantera". Dude, we all miss Dime and it was horrible what happened, but i think it's better when the band remains dead. it would be some kind of museum, but i propably would go there too if dates got released
I read this article where the manager of Pantera was saying that Phil felt the band was becoming to mainstream and he wanted to go more towards black metal but all the other guys involved wanted to go that direction. Then he went on to say that they thought his lyrics were too dark. Especially Good Friends and a Bottle of Pills so I think problems began earlier then most fans were led to believe and not all of the fault belongs to Phil.
poor phil....lolz..finally, after trying real hard to atch this thru with-out any pre determined thoughts i see him for what he really was and is, much like so many countless more singers, they get the dreaded frontman disease, where they think it's all about them, and he doesn't have the balls to fess up, he did blow the brthers off, and they, country as texans can be, stayed faithful and waited, taking his word for sh*t he was flyin by the seat of his pants
, an choose now.sad but true, they just didn't want to see their drem evaporate, but life happens, to us all.it's all gone now tho, and all we can do is hold close to heart Dime, and support VP as best we can.and feel thankful for the jams and smiles they gave us.Amen.
funny,Rodie's n the band, managers all sayin Phil was avoiding, then ya got Phil goin its everyone fault but his, what a lie man,Phil should admit it.and DOWN is a great band man,he shoulda said im ready for a change n been honest,I dont believe Phil for shit,as to many are saying the same thing.and it is Phil fault the band broke up,all had their shit together but his ass,on the flip side this is what generally happens, called the lead singer syndrome,he is wrong on this, but he is good, just a ass..
i had that surgery he is talkin about..it aint that bad the pussy..Phil is a pussy man..acts tough here, but man that operation aint that bad...does take a year though to get back on your feet..no excuse to be a asshole...
Stop blaming Phil for the break up of Pantera, as a band member with former A Type personalities, it's like the most violent, upsetting, disfunctional relationship you will ever be in and when you get away from that, you feel FREE to do what the fuck you want to do.
This just isn't Phil's fault. It's everyone in the Pantera den's fault.
I saw Down in concert a couple month's ago and they are amazing, Phil is exactly the same look's, sound's and act's the same, he was slamming the mic on his head, jumping around, banging his head it was like ''holy shit !''
Amen to that and how many times bro, did he give props to Dime and Vinnie? I saw him with SJR at Jaxx in Springfield, Va. when he was laced out and dropped bombs about D&V, the whole club left, me, I knew he was fucked up, so I let it go and they put on a great show.
this is the world's worst documentary. This is like listening to Vinnies version of everything but the worst part is that Phil is repentant the whole time, and nobody on this stupid thing have anything to say but whine, whine, whine.
its funny cos if that record came out now it would almost definitely be overlooked....because it has been ripped off sooooo many times! they made metal what it is today. even older bands that had been around longer than them changed their style because of pantera

@dandymandy1985 I got to build their stage!!! I worked as a stagehand roadie for about 10 yrs. I never made it in music myself but I was lucky enough to work some great shows, megadeth, metalica,AC/DC,Wrestling-WCW and WWF then WWE.worked the warped tour 2,000 a lot of great shows but then you have to work some seriously stupid ones too. I had to be ONSTAGE with NSYNC to catch them come floating in like fairies. Still it's a great gig to get, just go to your local arena say you wanna work.
@dandymandy1985 i was born 10 years before you and saw them in Melbourne, Australia 3 times at different points in the career. First 2 shows were the best i have ever seen or been in a pit at, last one was fucked coz Phil was fucked.
@dandymandy1985 I cant agree with you more. FUCK i have upwards of 50 live bootlegs of pantera and i get fucking goosebumps just WATCHING them. Wheres the pantera of our generation??? wtf happened?!?
This documentary is kinda cool, but it bugs me how it is trying so hard to make phil a huge monster that destroyed pantera. Why the fuck EVERYBODY but Phil or Rex talk about the break up?? We are basically hearing only one side of the story, and I bet Phil said a lot more in the interview than "I'm just as guitly as the rest of them!". We could also hear Rex as he was kinda the guy who didn't take sides in this bs, but they just show him saying "it's all horeshit!"
And notice how the person who did edited the interviews just so phil can look guiltier! First we hear about phil's drug and alcohol abuse and they talk about it like phil's the only one who did this kind of stuff in the band! Then right after that Phil starts other bands and after hearing tons of complaints by Rita and Vinnie Paul, the only thing we hear from Phil is "Everyband I started would turn into something fuckn cool!" making him look like a arrogant fucker! Fuckin biased director!
@CliffOnBass86 Yes, haha! Good point...I think it's because he's coherent, non-threatening, and easy to understand. He's also very schooled on the genre--enough to where people listen to what he has to say.
