This song is so great,I'm listening to it and can't get bored of it... Ian was so much into the music,he was dancing as the rhytm takes him,he totally enjoyed... Too bad he ended up so tragic...
Looking @ him here, it is amazing how long he went before ending it. He looks like he could have gone off any moment here already. He looks like someone whose soul is beaten down and his eyes look almost dead. Such a shame someone so brilliant had to face such horrible demons in his life and lost the fight.

@comets14733 You just know you've lost the argument so you resort to changing the topic. I hope you don't reproduce for fear of your kids being as stupid.
A superstar..............a universe better than anything in the last 30 years.. when yr voice, emotion, soul...meant something. Gave something to the song....
Oh ffs why does everyone keep whinging on about the fact that he had epilepsy like its some kind of disease or some thing, and focus on the fact that he was a brilliant songwriter instead!!!!
@baseballfuries08 this is from the documentary of the band Joy Division, called Control, maybe you should watch it as well as the many interviews were those questions were asked.
@AquaAnim There isn't. The footage you may be referring to is from a film and it is an actor. I was talking about the fact the he would have fits on stage; he never did, e was faking them especially in this song which is about his epilepsy and what the dancing about. You link me to live footage if you have it.
I hope this tv director still feels like an asshole for continually leaving Curtis' crazed dancing to show shots of the instrumentalists standing there playing their instruments.
Ian Curtis the poet of the post punk guy this guy wasted a lifetime of great successes yet in 3 years and left an incredible legacy to this day makes fans even here in Brazil thanks Ian, Bernard, Peter, Stephen because there
The drumming focus is nuts switching between sequences. Joy division is the epitome of post-punk. The very definition of an intermediate sound captured only through a human's suicide.
Not to be trolling or anything but I really don't understand how you guys can enjoy this song. I mean I know I'm gonna get trash and all but I just don't get it. I guess there is no accounting for taste.
I am was blessed see the band live - Rainbow and Wycombe Town Hall. Never got to hit on him though I was way too young and had to be in by midnight. Couldn't get enough of this totally awesome band and the gorgeous man (HRH Curtis) God rest his soul.
You can clearly hear Joy Division's musical roots in punk here, though that droning baseline, and the deliberate use of space amid the mathematical clatter of the drums, like a mantra, is beginning to morph their music into something else. Within a few months they were in a different universe. Curtis really did change the game before he left.
@TheBrothersOfSirens You're pretty stupid if you thought Ian Curtis was on drugs. He was actually supposed to take some sorta drugs to calm his epilepsy but wouldn't.
Still stands up. I was one of the first in my town to buy "Unknown Pleasures" and remember being laughed at by mates who just didn't "get it". After this performance on Something Else (short lived on BBC2) they all climbed on the bandwagon. One word.........CHARISMA.
