  • BULLSHIT

  • The beta analog stick looks better.

  • lol can someone tell me why half of the ppl are chinee in this vid ?

  • 1:36 girl on the left looks like a white girl

  • and then in 2006... back to reality.

  • This is the sort of stuff that got me excited about the Wii (especially the sword and gun parts) but then after I got it it turns out to be finicky and lame.

  • pfft, why is everyone so afraid to admit that the Wii is cool. I'm a gamer, have been for my whole life, It's possible to like shooting people in the face on games AND mellow motion controlled games. No shame. O_o

  • fail

  • woah theres loads of differences in the wiimote

    1.power button is now circular

2.the B is now bottom of the button

3.X&Y is now replaced with +&-

    for the nunchuk:

4.Z1&Z2 is now replaced with C&Z

  • well, if people are saying nintendo rushed this, then it is a real shame because it could have had more capabilities than the wii today, such as better graphics, the wii's graphics simply cannot be compared to the other two next gen consoles ps3 and 360

  • 0:36 he is trying SOOOO HARD

  • 1:10 thers a motionplus

  • it does look like a motion plus

  • Oh the good old days

When the Wii/Revolution seemed to have so many different possibilities for fun games...

  • Don't be so quick to forget about the Revolution, was dubbed Codename: Revolution, and the Wii was dubbed Codename: Dolphin, so there is a distinct possibility that they still may be working on the Revolution and not talking about it, as Nintendo tends to stay rather secretive.

  • actually gamecube was dubbed dolphin wii was dubbed revolution

  • Wii was not dubbed revolution. If you were to keep up with everything that Nintendo was doing at the time, they were working on a similar system to the PS3, until they realized that it was going to be released considerably later than PS3 and Xbox360. The fact is that they threw the Wii together quickly, knowing that they couldn't keep up with the industry if they didn't release a new console relatively around the same time as the others.

  • ehm...no.

The Wii was definitely codenamed Revolution and the whole concept behind the hardware was surely NOT rushed.

Nintendo deliberately chose to go a different route from Sony and Microsoft, and you could (and still can) see that if you read basically every interview and speech by Iwata, Fils-Aime and so on.

  • Okay, they didn't rush the hardware? Why, then is it so strikingly similar to a Gamecube? I have watched press releases and interviews with Iwata and the like, and I can tell you with confidence that they never released actual specification details. To say that it took them the same R&D and time to make the Wii that Sony did with PS3 is grossly unfair, and I do not believe it to be the case. They realized down the road that they needed to go a different route than Sony and Microsoft.

  • And, really...the Revolution was not supposed to be as dinky hardware-wise as the Wii became. If you look at the press release on the 'revolution' at E3 2005, you will note that they said that the Revolution will have DVD playback ability and used dual layered DVD technology for 8.5G games. That, among many other hardware aspects, was scrapped from the final design (being the Wii) though the patents they hold still promote a true nex-gen console. I can go on in details.

  • Finally, though, Sega told Americans in 2005 that Nintendo was working on a revolutionary control scheme (for the dolphin, which isn't gamecube) and they made several patents. We can see now what that R&D led to. Also, at TGS-2005, it was revealed that the 'Revolution' was going to use motion controls. All I ever wanted to say with this, though, is that Nintendo is still possibly working on a new home console. Also, that I believe they changed the codename at some point.

  • Good thinking but no, the Wii was the Revolution and the Dolphin was the Gamecube. Although Im sure most of us will agree they should of left the name Revolution instead of the Wii..

  • True, I admit that Project Dolphin was for Gamecube, but everything else that I said still stands true.

  • why would nintendo do that, I mean, im not so bothered about the dvd player coz i already have a bluray and a 360 but it seems more appropriate they should have included any extra features. as it is the wii is lacking some features to the ps3 and 360

  • that's kind of bad. the wii could have had more capabilities if they had spent the extra time instead f rushing to compete with sony's ps3 and the 360 from microsoft

  • i hadn't heard about the gamecube, but i was pretty sure that when i first discovered about nintendo's next gen console, it was called the "Nintendo Revolution"

  • I would love to have a red wiimote=)

  • this is only a teaser trailer, so it was out before the console and controller was out?

considering its only a teaser, it has the wii motion pluss plugged into the bottom of the remote, shows they had time and the technology to just build it into the remote if they wanted to...

    moneyyy grabbing :P

  • Yeah that hunk of plastic must have been the intuitive final product, since they showed so much video proof of that.

  • somebody with wii, is it really working exactly like in this vid?

  • No. :(

It's not even close to being as engaging and exciting as shown here. If only it were the case...

  • This video makes me wonder what happened to all those different-colored Wii Remotes they showed.

  • lol, z1 & z2. they needed 2 keep the x&y buttons. THE C-STICK WILL LIVE ON.

  • the Wii is very fun

  • check 01:45 , I thought that was possible , in reality its not. If you have a wii you know that it lags. It doesn't function like that.

  • actually, that only depends on the game.

  • hey if you notice they changed the buttons from x and y to 1 and 2

  • I HATE this damn controller. You rarely have control over it. Especially in shooting games where your trying to shoot someone and the remote flies off screen and you have to fight to get the pointer back somewhere visible and by then your shoot up and on the floor dead.

Even lowering its sensitivity down only helps so much and its still jumpy as hell.

  • you must have an unsteady hand dude. it worked perfectly for me in tons of games

  • Maybe, the nerves are fucked in both my arms. But, its not that bad. I think it maybe how far or close I sit near the screen or how much I move my arms. Often to much.

  • well, if the nerves in your arms are fucked, it's not the controller's fault.

  • @AnubisRising667:Perhaps you're not getting a good aim at the sensor bar.

  • I guess that's why you call yourself a nub.

  • unveiled

  • and only too (ignore mine as well!) :)

  • and only ^ (ignore mine)

  • nice!!
