  • thank you so much this realy hels out

  • A rubber band on the Handle of the pliers will insure a firm but light grip on the connector

  • EC3 connectors rock! I just picked up that same Weller WES51 soldering station in the video. What temp do recommend for soldering battery leads, ESCs, etc? Thanks.

  • Can you use any lipo battery for the T-28D Trojan becouse some connecters look different to the horizon hobbys batterys.

  • @SVenables97 The T-28's ESC uses EC3 connectors

  • does it matter male or female plugs? What does male or female mean? Can you explain?

  • Thanks so much for the video I would have totally did it wrong thanks again

  • okay, so i need to replace the connector on a battery...how to get the old connector off the battery without Short Circuiting the battery?

    -Thanks

  • @chrisrain11 You will need to cut them off one at a time and repair/resolder the new connector on

  • @HorizonRCdotCom thankyou very much

  • @HorizonRCdotCom when i done mine a few minutes ago i got a little solder on the outside of the connector and when i went to snap it in i held it in with my finger on my table and the connector broke and the screw driver went through my finger and into the wood table had to pull it out of the table then my finger it hurt i wont try that again if it has any on the outside lol

  • Thanks for the tutorial, man!

I had been tinning the inside of the EC3 connector and not the wire.. i ended up ruining a lot of ec3 connectors that way and it was not easy :(... this is way easier.. *facepalm*

  • for the strike what type of conector do i need for the battery not the esc a male or female?

  • do you really need a 40 watt soldering iron to install these? I have a 25 watt soldering iron. Will this not do the job or just take quite a bit longer? If this will not work, I know you sell a connector with wires already attached, so no big deal, I'm just curious. Thanks and keep up the good work!

  • @jsmbc101 25-watt is pretty low power and there isn't much RC-related that I would use a 25-watt on.

  • @jsmbc101 I Use an 25 watt soldering iron and it take some time but it do the job so,

    Yep it works

  • horizon rocks! good customer service and awesome products.

  • If a battery comes with a different connector, is it necessary to desolder or can you just cut the leads then strip it?

    Thanks

  • @jeffrey031095 You can just cut the leads, IF they are long enough to accommodate doing so

  • @HorizonRCdotCom

Thanks a lot. You guys have the best customer service out there. Great products as well

  • Same process with the male end?

    Looks easier than Deans...

  • Yup, pretty much the same deal on the other side

  • i had to redo the esc connector on my trojan as i added a bec.

i didnt do a good job tho. i might redo it when i can be bothered before i fly as i dont want it breaking off when i fly

  • I prefer these to the deans.

  • How do you undo it?

  • thanks this helped alot ,easier than deans, and work a treat.

  • now I know what tining is, thanks.
