Yes, the sound is terrible. It continues to deteriorate as the talk continues, and by 12 minutes in it's so bad that I can't understand what the speaker is saying.
For sure. I mean, I watch googletechtalks to find out why I do exist and the universe, the forces, the energy and whatnot and what have you and things of that nature. I just didn't think that somebody was still concerned with losslessy compressing text in (almost) 2010 because it's a problem that has already been explored extensively in the '80. A lossy compression scheme that preserve the meaning of the text in full and gives, say, 2 bits per word would be useful.
Yeah Thea video is awfull but there are interesting points. And tha audio is unaudible, a sad.
