  • the hall is bad.

  • she played so well the audience forgot to clap... lol

  • I'm speechless....she is incredible!!! this is unbelievable !!!

  • ufffff

  • omg this is so bad...

  • so talented

  • ... speechless :l

  • гениально

  • All I can say is... AMAZING!!

  • yayaya,,,,,,,awesome...

  • いきなりハイテンションで始まる曲なんですね。それをことも無げに弾きこなすなんて

    もうすごすぎますね。この子・・。

  • What the Hell?? Fake!! ;-)

  • man you asians are so damn good at everything!!

  • @dabeatdurand she's quite exceptional, though :) even for an asian xD

  • She is quite gifted. Actually, I happen to know she doesn't copy any one performer; she listens to different performers and notes what she does/doesn't like from them and creates her style from that. I'd say that's a pretty mature skill from a little girl!

  • 最高☆

  • Aimi is so amazing. I am working on this etude and I am already nine years old.

  • made in kina

  • I wonder if she really likes music or if she just a product of her parents failed dreams.

  • sixthbrokenstring: Her parents have no dreams about music. Aimi is not only a great young pianist but she is also a passionate listener. Being her sponsor,I know her very well: music is all her life!

  • I am loocking for the same thing..

    lokopiano

  • I agree. She is just one of many exemples of children that play very well when young, because they are told to, but when they grow, they realize that it's not really what they want, just their parents wishes, and then they go to do something else

  • @rrcaires many children are indeed under a lot of pressure from parents and many despise practicing hours and hours without enjoying it at all, but I believe most of us see that Aimi's not one of those children. Not only is she a master at skill but she also loves what she's doing. It's like she's almost become one with the music. She's no typical example. Just so expressive, near perfection with every note, in regards to her own interpretations of course.

  • omg

  • :-O ja leck mich doch ... :D Nicht schlecht..

  • addeex1: The music is in her head.

  • Then we can consider that she isn´t a pianist;)

A pianist perform to other people and show the music.

But this girl as you say, hide it in her head. Remember I didn´t claim that she isn´t talent! ;)

  • You may want to consider taking your ears to the blacksmith for some delicate tuning. (Ah, so few pearls and so many swine ...)

  • Were you trying to be funny there? :S

  • addeex1: the comment (adapted from an old portuguese folk saying) was my reaction to your asking "where's the music ??" Jokingly ?? Well, yes and know.

  • I learnt that Aimi is only 5 years years old here? This is truly miraculous. Prior to this, I did not think that a feat like this was possible. The average five year old does not have much of an attention span or the physical coordination and much less any concept of musicality to do this. She is in a class all by herself. Who is like this?

  • concerto35:

Under 21 ?? NO ONE, iTHINK; the next handful of prodigies are past maters of the keyboard / pedal, but this is DIFFERENT. She is up there with the best of all ages, and understands the music flawlessly. Even if she is copying one or more masters ... but who ??!!

  • I get the impression that Aimi's playing is not really imitative. If it were, she would not be able to express such profound, exquisite and refined beauty. I believe that she is such a great communicator because she transmits her intense feelings at the spiritual or supernatural level. You hardly find this degree of anointed communication among prodigies. This is why many of us love and admire this young lady.

  • she's mozart reborn!!! hahah she plays PERFECT!!! I AM ULTRA IMPRESSED!

  • Thank you :)

  • OMG! GOD BLESS HER!

please can anyone tell me what's the name of this piece?

  • Nadiditta: Chopin Etude Op.25 n°2

  • its a compitition not a show.

  • I can't do that T.T

  • its only up in piano from her age :O

  • Hard to believe. A miracle ?? A suspension of the laws of physics and physiology ?? Her "Coronation" is still my favourite Aimi clip on the youtube. A different kind of miracle.

  • it makes me sad that there are only like 5 people in the audience and they don't even clap her at the end

  • too much pedal

  • SwePianoholic: No, Aiminever uses too much pedal. It is mainly a very bad recording....

  • Ok, the reverberation from the hall fooled my ears :)

  • prodigioooooooo!!!!!!!!!! °_°

  • wat song is this

  • doesn't her fingers hurt after that? MY GOD! VERYYYY well done!! I can only play the piano with 3 fingers :P awesomeee

  • HOLY SHI- O.O;.........gah?..well erm..how..eh...who was her teacher omg! :D good thing i love japan

  • i wish all the children of the world have this kind of cmotions... obviously, she is NOT A ROBOT! SHe plays with a lot of emotions... you have to know the piece and have to understand Chopin! I am sorry! Thank you

  • ok....she jus doesnt seems like a kid like me...she is totally awesome!

  • dizzy...dizzy...major headache

    way toooooo fast

  • i am korean so naturally, i'd feel a slight bias against japanese ppl since my grandfather lived through the colonization, but she is verrrrrrrrry talented. almost like evegany kissin when he was young except she's asian! hahaha. but it's waaay too early to tell what her style will be like. no matter how well she plays right now, i dont think she will match up to the wonderous works of mitsuko uchida in mozart or zimerman with chopin.

  • you know getting a job for a pianist will be very easy for her lol

i wonder if their teaching her music theory

alot of pianist that can play really good that ive met dont know what diatonic is they just know chord names and thats it they dont know what makes them but thats just my small experience maybe it was just them but yeah if she knows music theory she can really make some good music with her techniques lol watch she cant play blow 197bpm lol jk

  • way to fast..

  • Yeah, was just messy. To the trained ear, no, but to the average 'Joe' it was a mess.

  • um... edited stupid

  • Glenn Gould speed

  • This is not anymore piano playing - this is breaking speed records - it is acrobatic at the highest level!

  • BOSS!!!

  • Splendid talent! ! Japanese treasure! !

  • ma è la sorella dell'altro piccoletto? intendo l'altro genio?

  • This is an absolutely stunning performance!

  • this is amazing!

  • sounds a little fast to me

  • well maybe your a little deaf!

  • yeah, might be too fast for you, but the way it sounds here, it's definitely the right speed for her. Played beautifully with respect in regards to the phrasing. This is really a good interpretation.

  • actually its the audio quality - the other poster was right - i AM a little deaf (from years of DJing). It IS fractionally faster than I have heard this played on several different recordings on CDs that I bought over the years, but it does sound right in this instance. Its just a shame that the audio quality isn't better.

  • danibayliss, STFU if you have nothing positive to say about this little genius. All you can do is complain, complain, complain, you ingrate! Life must be such a horrible tragedy for you. Go some place and die, will ya. Nobody wants to read your complaints. It's so obvious that you can't enjoy life unless everything is PERFECT. So go put a gun in your mouth and pull the frick'n TRIGGER! You'll be a lot better off!

This little girl plays like an angel!

  • I already responded to the replies saying it probably was my hearing and the quality of the audio - but its not there anymore. She is good. Obviously.

Are you always this abusive to people on youtube? How would it make you feel if your comments hurt someone so much that they did in fact kill themselves?

  • nosebleed

  • Amazing!!!!

  • wow

  • The piano looks like it'll eat her! But she looks cute, and plays very well. :)

  • F**K!!! thats well good!

  • vaya mieeeeeeeeeeeeerda

  • Hats off

  • cabrona XDD

  • A true piano prodigy

  • I want interdict all other pianists to touch piano bars.I want listen only Aimi.

  • aaaaaaaaa!! k miedo! ella s seca!! pero me da cosa verla tocar nose porkee :S :S :S se mueve raro x__x k miedo..igual es algo personal creo xD ella toca muy bien :o

  • wow! she is like the next mozart or beethoven!

  • These types of children are suicidal and prone to depression once encounters a negative turn in their lives in a certain age. They're so perfect when still a child but growing up and facing the true meaning of life can be really hard for these kids. So a very good parenting will nourish and prepare these gifted child to their futures.

  • Not everybody of those chidren will. I don`t think Aimi will meet this problem!

  • Hopefully. It's such a wonderful talented kid! :D

  • Wtf?

  • Thank U "Doctor" for this astute evaluation, I just hope they don't read your mega negative "evaluation."

  • You are gifted. You are talente, you have a very good technique,

To the rest of you...-dont judge, just sit and play yourseld, lets see what can you do. people like oyu just love talk sh*t.

because there is nothing else you can do,....

  • illiterate.

  • emotionless...too fast...blah, blah, blah. all who try to find faults with this young lady are LOSERS. white ppls are intimidated by asian's musical talents.

  • No need to add racial jealousy, reactions are the same with any of these wonder kids. People are, and they should, critical of kids who are drilled to play the piano. But in this case one cant be too critical of her play. She is gifted and when you listen to her other pieces u will understand perfectly she is not only about technique.

  • Anyone who is a music lover, wouldnt find it tired.. i could feel her passion..

  • how old is she?

    wonderful play I think

    maybe she has many lesson

    she improve piano technic,

when child.she is tired I guess

  • Fast, loud, and emotionless...but nice technique...

  • She takes it at a very fast clip, maybe a little too fast, but amazing. As she gets old and matures, I'm sure the piece will have more nuance, better phrasing and a more subtle quality. Schumann, who heard the piece played by Chopin, said it was like the song of a sleeping child. This is a very talented child.

  • ma è la sorella dell'altro piccoletto? intendo l'altro genio?

  • My mom was a piano teacher in Asian, she herself being a prodigy of a Russian princess in her childhood, and I grew up playing with prodigies one or two as gifted as Aimi, though I'm not one. (not even close!)

It's true some parents force their kids to learn in Asia, but RARELY the case. The one that makes it always have this combination -- Nurturing parents, love of music, AND a GREAT teacher that knows how to get thru to a child and make them love it from the bottom of their heart.

  • totally agree, not all the Asian parents force their children to learn instruments.

  • exactly..i'm so pissed off whenver ppl assume that all asians play by parent's force..ugghh..>=[

    coz i'm not!

  • wow.

  • son muy buenos estos niños tocando el piano

  • amazing!! could anybody told me the name of this fantastic song? I'll be very grateful!

    thanks a lot!

aimi, you're a genius! congratulations for you, for your parents and for your teachers :)

  • Chopin: Etude Op.25 n°2

  • i don't recognize forced asian practicing

  • what are u trying to say? what if she really likes playing the piano.

  • she was still probably forced to play, idc if she likes it or not

  • dude, it's a diff story if u like to play something.... its like saying.... ur parents forced u to play game, but u like it also, so it's not bad. she loves to play the piano. so its' good she started way way young.

  • you know she loves to play the piano? one who enjoys something needs not force to do it

  • yes, they did this interview thing for her, Dude it's called first being exposed to it man.

  • well, all i know is that many asian children who are playing piano when they are wearing diapers are forced. Regardless of if she likes it or not, if she would've started on her own time she wouldn't be so far ahead of other children her age on piano.

  • and u act as if there's anything wrong with being ahead of other childrens.. it's called UNIQUE.... i know she's very happy she started very young. Her parents know what they're doing. and she's happy after every performance. so what's wrong?

  • exposed.... let's supposedly ... say.. what if they just let her played the piano, and she liked it so much that even tho they wanted her to stop...didn't want to stop learning.....? u never know.. lol

  • i'm just leaving it at this: I don't support asian parents forcing their kids to do things for their own benefit, ie. fame, wealth

  • How many times must I repeat that Aimi has NOT been forced, neither by her parents, nor by her professor. She only practices two days a week and, for the rest, she is a little girl perfectly normal and happy. So STOP this nonsense!

  • for reals!! u go and tell that guy... she was exposed at a young age, not forced... tloveland is just.. x0

  • Thanks klingsor93, People get pigeon holed into thinking that all Asian's force their kids to practice and when they do it does not turn out a great artist. As we can see with Aimi's parents quite the contrary is true but I still believe her gift is just that, a gift, period! Music just seems to flow from her heart to her fingers effortlessly.

  • Do you know how old when she played this?

    Thanks!

  • she was ten years old

  • your just bitter your parents arnt asian

  • lol

  • TLoveland4692, I totally disagree with you. There are plenty of child prodigies who started at the same age as Aimi. The difference with Aimi is her real understanding of the deeper things in music and how she portrays them to her audience. By far she is the greatest prodigy I have ever heard. A true miracle!

  • Well Said LVB1770.. I've heard of the very same pieces played by grown professionals, and they do not match the emotions that I feel from Aimi's passion as a musical prodigy. It reaches out and touches your soul... simply remarkable!

  • Bravo!

  • Que dire de cette prodigieuse pianiste je n'ai plus de mots... Je suis de plus en plus étonné de cette passionnante et prenant promenade à travers vos talents merci à toi aussi (pianogirl98)>>>...

    jacques de paris

  • Maybe I AM a prodigy after all! I played the Khachaturian Concerto with only four years of lessons. What was this girl playing after four years? I wonder...

  • Oops, typo, my first piano lesson was at 14... Sorry! Big difference...

  • I'm happy to report that klingsor93 says she is playing much more difficult pieces now. Very good. But, I'd rather hear her play pieces well, than just play things that are difficult. But, my background is quite different from hers. My first piano lesson was at 18, and I got my master's from Juilliard a few years later... I'm an oddball.... No prodigy. No, I worked HARD!

  • Well, as a matter of fact, I've performed Islamey, Rachmaninoff Concerto No. 3 and Prokofiev 2nd. And, yes I think she is talented, but if you've ever judged competitions, as I have. You can hear kids her age play MUCH more difficult pieces than this. Genius, I don't think so...

  • Lighten up folks. This is not a difficult piece. It was either recorded badly, or she used too much pedal for the hall... Still she is very talented, and oh so very cute in that dress!

  • It was very badly recorded, but, hey, Mr.PianistDG, what is a difficult piece for you? Islamey, Feux follets, Mazeppa, 2nd Bartok Concerto, 3rd by Rachmaniinov, 2nd by Prokofiev, nearly all Alkan? Well, be patient, she was only ten years old when she played that ( in Carnegie Hall ). Give her time and don't be so intolerant!

  • klingsor93: I'm happy that you support this talented young musician. I can see PianistDG's view (and he's obviously a very talented pianist himself) but in general I agree with you as I think it's better that we risk praising a young musician too much than that we risk underestimating them. As you wisely say, let's give Aimi time. In years to come she may end up playing better than any of us!

  • klingsor93: since writing my previous comments I have just seen a YouTube video of Aimi playing Mozart Concerto No.26 (which is just as much of a challenge as Prokofiev 2 or Rachmaninov 3, but in a different way) and was much moved to hear a young musician playing this work with such assurance. We worry about the future of classical music in our shallow world, so we should be grateful to people like Aimi who represent the future.

  • Her performance is very impressive! But it does sound like it's playing in a church with lots of echo.

  • :-o

  • She can't be 11...

  • lol ich denk mal, sie kann heute schon ihrem klavierlehrer was beibringen!!

  • Unbelievable :-O

  • She is genius! I want play like she can...

  • Wonderful!

  • shes MUSIC!

  • She's a miracle!!

  • how could she be THAT good?

  • Genius!!!

  • unbelievable

  • she is wonderfullll great!! i love this!

  • frEak... ... IS TAT HER AGAIN ???
