Yeah! generally, I enjoy Malian music. I need to know more about my root but what is certain is that from the little I have gathered, we are not far from each other's origin.
second mali is home of souls and music realy very soul full who can sing all african nation , mali is lion of africa you can feel it coz when lion roar every human and animal can feel so mali is our mirior music industry of africa love from somalia .
good inspire mali music thank you , merci boucoup , shugran habibi , grazie molto biene
Never in the history of the world has any set of dudes been so cool nor ever will be again, i love this video so much. I love 'yala' too, but the photos make it perfect
she's talking about people who dont like to stay in their place(home). she's advising them that they could have every kind of thing(bad) as long as they r hanging around outside
Thank you so much for posting this!!! I recently watched a doku about this forographer, it was called "Dolce vita Africana" & it was wonderful! His fotos are amazing! The song in this video is great too, awesome!
I love this video so much, it's up there with the winter scenes and god machine's 'bad dream' or the snowboarding and tomcraft's 'loneliness' but better. (I know, that sounds odd, but if you think rocking beats+sound tune, it makes sense). I finally realised, if Sidique whatsisname is here, there must be a book of his photos, so it's going on my 'must buy when finally have more money than rent to pay' list:) So beautiful, people in movement, full of energy and optimism, really living life
She's at a free concert in Liverpool tomorrow if anyone local hasn't heard.
I love the groove, kora & the other melodic/chordal instruments, but I'd sack off the drum machine/sequencer drums - give me a handful of good Malian percussionists any day.
This song is amazing....I love so much!!! and I don´t undarstand what she says but the feeling is wonderful....someone could tell me what she sings?....c´est-ce que elle chantes?...alguién puede decirme que es lo que dice la letra de la canción?......Africa la madre de todas las naciones...It begin in Africa,....L'Afrik c'est la mére!!!....
She sings about young people being out all the time...always being in the streets...she says they should be careful because they will have bad reputations....and be exposed to all the "vices" of street life...
Oh, thanks for the answer yba9811....well I´ve supossed that this song talked about hapyness or something like that....anycase is amazing....I´m going to listen once and another and more...coz it´s so much more than only a song...
I read somewhere that this song is directed towards youth, telling them not to waste all their time partying and getting drunk because the future is very important to plan for. It's telling them to focus more attention on school work and such.
Bye
What me impressed most. I saw her, a couple of years ago in germany and before her concert starts, some guys from africa, perhaps mali, came to the stage, knee down and offer her gold. chains, rings, stuff like that. after the concert, I understand why. Great woman, great musician.
She is so talented. During my trip to Bamako I saw her hotel. I met one of the cooks she endorses in Kayes, Mali and he spoke highly of her. I enjoy the messages in her songs. The people of Mali are wonderful!
What beautiful photos especially @ 3.22 & 3:17- showing the different faces of Mali.
I have never been to Mali but through the music of Tinariwen, Salif Keita & of course Oumou I have a sense of the rich culture and diversity of the country. I'd love to visit and get to know the people...and oh I'm Kenyan -just thought I'd say that to show just how transcendental Mali's music is!)
Iam from Cameroon also but it is clear that Mali is the Ultimate African leader in music,Salif Keita makes you wanna give up your life for everything.God bless Africa
i am from djibouti ,i dont understand what she is saying but i just love the song and music of this lady. I will really be happy 2 meet her 1 day inshallah
The song was great,as expected, but those photos were truly golden! I am unfamiliar with the work of Malick Sidibe, but those images were superb, almost enough to bring tears to my eyes! Amazing Afro-urban style from the 1960's,too cool!
This is a wonderful song. Her voice reminds me of the great Cote d'Ivoire singer Aiche Kone.

I LOVE this video! It is absolutely fabulous. I like it better than the original recording. I've loved it since I was young (a long time ago).

Sangare's music is soulful and speaks to the heart the way a mother communicates
to her baby. She is is effortlessly graceful and portrays the beauty of African culture.
