  • I used to spend hours playing this.

  • I remember playing this on my Windows 3.11 PC way back when.

  • Man this game used to scare me when i was a kid lol

  • I bought this game for $1.88 in the CompUSA software bin back in 1995. What a deal! :)

  • Good times

  • I love the sound of the "Slow Fire Protector".

    Peweeooh!

  • I remember having this game, but I think I had a different version.

It had alot different music and sound effects.

  • Intru.MEDIC...

    Good times xD

  • The game is really shit ...

    the graphics, the sound ...

    And the animations

  • @radoRodgar this is what we had before COD and MW3

  • this is like wolfenstein but with a raygun

  • @bullmeatt Raptor: Call of the Shadows?

  • i remember playing this with my bro when i was soooo young... i remembered the name of the game out of nowere.... I recognize the guns cause i used to day dream of having them and shooting people I hated in school lol... I cant remember what the game play was like... it must of come out around when DOOM came out... my 2 fav games, my 3rd fav I think was called raptor but i cant find anything about it :S it was a game were you fly a plane and shoot other planes and get upgrades

  • This brings me so many memories...

    Nice old times :_ )

  • sometimes when talking to some of the scientist 's too much they'll say Guard!! and start shooting you awesome game

  • God, I love those sound effects. I mean by todays standards they wouldn't be considered too great, but stuff like this always gets me pumped to open up DosBox and actually make use out of my crappy ass windows 7 computer. Great video!

  • Sliver always made great games. Back in the day I loved it. :P

  • this game sucks -.-

  • I loooovvvvveeeee this game!

  • wolfenstein copy-cat with different voices

  • @gartner10112

yeah the voices are the biggest difference... some ppl are unbelievable.

  • @tranceemerson you have to play with the cpucycles in dosbox for some games. some run better, some run worse. for example high cpu cycles works well for blake stone, but poorly for blood, therefore use less cpucycles. this can be done in the main dosbox configuration file.

  • Old school for the win!

  • HAHAHAAH how funny back in the day when you would press space like a retard to scan for walls that will open :D

  • how are you getting this framerate on dos-box??

  • Lmao I just found out the security gaurd yells "Medic". As a kid I thought he yelled "BAAH!" and would laugh every time cause it sounded funny lol.

  • Man, I grew up with this game. Good memories. Thanks for posting.

  • lol 3:27 That guy had guard had some quick reflexes. Wonder if he is the intramural hockey goalie.

  • "BETTY!"

  • Amongst Quake, Zombie Wars, Doom, and others honourable of the fantastic sci-fi horror elite, I TOO played this as a youngster alongside my father; we used to talk how I was Blake Stone because MY NAME IS Blake, alas, this was another game to be forever buried in lost piles of CD after CD in dads filing cabinet, only to be found later on in the year 2005, long after its mid 90's reign of amaze, I always wonder to this day what it would have been to find it once more..the dreams of what once was.

  • lol @commander keen sound samples

  • all these memories just coming back...I finished this game but damn as a young kid I didnt understand anything, just blasted my way through somehow

  • That's my first game....

  • I played this game so much as a kid, never remember beating it. Didn't care if I did at the time, was too much fun.

  • Man I miss this game, I thought it was the shit back in the day.. Still is, in its own way.

  • black ops pwns dis shit haa

  • @bigzam1 - This was made before you were born, of course it has worse graphics and what not. Its a wicked game though, but young ppl don't realize it, unless a game has amazing graphics and is incredibly complex it sucks. This is a real game, for real gamers. How many games now come with a comic book and a story with them? That and if it wasn't for first person shooters like this, Black Ops wouldn't exist, so don't rip on the grandfather of your games.

  • *chest explodes, lungs and heart disintegrate in shower of blood*

    still yells "MEDIC!"

  • quit to dos, lol, omg... that takes me back

  • yeah.....the classics Doom and Wolfenstein were the very first shooters to ever exist, never played this one though; had doom, wolfenstein, duke nukem, corridor 7 n a bunch of other non FPS games but no this one

  • damnn have years gone by

  • I remember this from when I was about 6. This and Wolfenstein3D came with our very first computer.

  • ahh i remember this game as a kid this, doom and commander keen were the games i always played

  • INTRUDER! MEDIC!

  • It's funny that the first suggested video is Dead Space

  • i loved this game when I was a kid.

  • 1:15 fail.. LOL

  • I remember the horrid headaches I would get from this game.

  • I love Apogee. Good memories.

  • Urgh, picking up items *bubububimbamboom

    bubububimbamboom

    bubububimbamboom

  • Great game damnit.

  • Same Sounds as Commander Keen!!!

  • Ahhhh yes: good ol' Blake Stone. Used to play it when I was a kid. This brings back so many memories.

  • I wanna play this game so bad, my planet strike and blake stone cd are broken :( I want so much to play this again

  • I was trying to remember the name of this game. When i heard the intro music it all came back

  • oh my gosh....just wanna play now...all the memories!!! AAHHH just only if i had the cd and a old computer...:(

  • Outside of the obvious two (Wolfenstein + Doom), I grew up with this and Rise of the Triad. I always remember loving Blake Stone perhaps most of all for the fun cartoony feel. It also added a bit to the genre, now you could buy stuff from machines and talk to non-hostile NPCs. I remember eagerly anticipating the next new guns

  • Halt!

    I'm hit!

  • I loved this game, I played it so often!

  • Is there anywhere to get this game these days? To run on a vitural pc or something. I would love to play this again.

  • YOUR DEAD!

  • I have this along with a bunch of old video games stored on a zip disk... Too bad I dont have a zip drive...

  • holy crap i havent heard about this game in years. What nostalgia.

  • zomg the memories

  • what the hell were they thinking when they made the goes yell medic every time they die xD

  • Blake Stone and Commanche :p

  • man its kinda crazy if you compare these graphics to games now....ths is only like 16 years old.

  • so who here used the electric fields to kill things by turning them off and on rapidly??

  • It's a better game than wolfenstein, by any measure.

  • @ClickClackClickClack Agreed. Wolfenstein still rules, though. :D

  • @ClickClackClickClack Wolfenstein was a bandwagon game.

  • @ClickClackClickClack You shall die for that insult, Heretic!!!!

  • Auf dieses Video antworten... It's a follow up game to Wolf3D with the same engine. It's just like saying that Shadow warrior is better than Duke3d....... of course it is! - whats your point there?

  • INTRUDER!

    MEDIC!

    UMM-AHHHH~ (opening of door)

    YOU'RE DEAD! *then after* AYIIIEEEEE~

    Good times....good times

  • WOW I CAN SAY MY FIRST PC GAME ALONG WITH THE HELICOPTER ONE WICH I CANT REMEMBER...

  • I wish there was a sourceport of old Blake Stone. Dosbox always plays this game so iffy. I loved this game as a kid, but it's so hard to play any fps without dedicated strafing keys now that I'm used to it.

  • Man I remember playing this from a 100 games CD my dad got when he bought the 486. I always thought this was a bit of a poor man's Wolfenstein. I was playing DooM by this stage so it was bound to be a bit runk. Halloween Harry on the other hand...

  • this game had nothing special but i loved it the rebel scientists goldfire the beef alien lol and i also loved rocket hum no powder luncher hahaha this game was so special but i loved it i don't know why...

  • I'd love to get this on my modded PSP

  • Damn i wish they would remake this game

  • hit the blood stain, its a secret door!!!

  • I never used to take too many gold bars because I didnt want to weigh myself down.

  • those fucking thumbs.........

  • Hey, Blake, take my food tokens!

    MEDECK

  • I liked this game much more than Wolfenstein. So much more colorful and gory!

  • i remember playing this when i was like 8-years-old and thinking it was fucking REVOLUTIONARY

no i'm not ashamed that i ever thought that 8)

  • 1:16. Awwww, shoot a guy in the back, will ya?!

  • Freakin' loved this game as a kid, someone needs to update this game like they did with Doom

  • I had so much fun playing this game.

  • I remember this game!! Epic.

  • blood blood bloooooooooood

  • wow..haven't played this in at least 15 years!!

  • wow..haven't played this in at least 15 years!!

  • As a kid I loved this game, for some reason I liked it better than Doom or Wolfenstein 3d

  • ja! my first shooter

  • dude you missed a bunch of secret areas. there are star troopers guarding tons of treasure and a plasma discharge unit.

  • @bigblockelectra

so many secrets 1st level its sick

  • @3dwardXP there is a secret in the first hallway...right as you enter the level the secret is along the wall on the left side. I think there is one of those little plasma ball things flying around.

  • @bigblockelectra

yea but you have to kill a dude that wears body armor and can revive himself after 10 seconds or so, he can sometimes do this multiple times - if you see no blood he will resurrect on you. its reasons like this i loved this game as a kid. my fave weapon was dual barreled machine gun thingy cant remember what it was called. i found the plasma discharge one was a waste of ammo most times.

  • @3dwardXP It is very possible to kill all of them in that secret area with the charge pistol...or come through the wall and steal the plasma discharge unit and kill them that way. Depending on what difficulty there is a star sentinel near the red key, you can kill him first and get his weapon and then kill the star troopers in the secret area.

  • Only 29.95!!!

  • You know if you keep talking to the informants multiple times they will give you tokens or energy packs sometimes. Just thought I would mention that.

Thanks for posting this video up. I gave it a thumbs up.

  • Oh man i loved this game. I liked the atmosphere in this game.

  • Mad nostalgia buzz from that!

  • Half of my childhood have been lost in those corridors of shareware version. Happily, tomorrow I'm buying this on GoG :D

  • Playing it atm ;D

  • oh god! i love this game! this is my favorite apogee game ever! but i cant get it! all the places i go to download it are faulty! please! someone tell me where to get full version free!

  • What times they were!

  • I still own the Blake Stone games and play them once in a while. Corridor 7 is another one I enjoy amongst others.

  • I used to have this too, but I think I had a bit different version because the gun sounds and the enemies death sounds were very different. Awesome game.

  • i think i have the disc in my room somewhere for this game should dig it up lol

  • i only played the demo

  • Medic!

  • @ValomirThunderblade Mein Leben!!

  • @ValomirThunderblade *sigh* Building a dispenser.

  • @ValomirThunderblade I AM FULLY CHARGED

  • This and planet strike were the best

  • This was my favorite PC game back in the 90s, I actually enjoyed it more than Wolfenstien. I didn't get to play Doom until I got a nicer computer, but this kept me more than satisfied in the mean time. So damn good.

  • The gun looks like hes holding my dick!

  • what a huge crap! the weapon looks like a candy bar!!! fortunately didn't know any FPS before I have played to Doom....otherwise I would be so afraid to try again!

  • @sicilienz

dude, these games are very old, before doom was released

  • yes 1 WEEK before doom to be exact

  • @Flacksh0t

Wolfenstein in my opinion is a crap, and older than this one ! but a million miles better !! come on .....a candy bar !!

  • Ages ago! :D Where do I get this game nowadays?

  • @Jirlow:

I heard there is something called the"INTORNET" - try that one :D

  • google, torrentz

  • Those green big guys ;D Look like super mutants from Fallout xP

  • What's also weird is that this one time I saw someone else's video of the gameplay of Blake Stone, when the informant was shot, he didn't go "AAHHGH!!!", instead he has that cool British accent voice going," NOOOOOOOOO!(x0x)" I'm serious! I saw it and heard it with my own eyes! Wonder what version is that anyway?

  • I wish I can find the sound effects from this game I can download. I try to record it myself but my mic is only good at recording my voice, nothing else. ;_; Does anyone know where I can download Blake Stone sound effects? Let me know! Thanks! ^_^ I even like Dr. Goldfire's evil laughter and kickass sounds of aliens and monsters and explosions. ^__~

  • Did you ever find those sounds? I really want some of the item pickup sounds for some mods I'm working on. My favorite sound is when you get 100% on a level, the sound goes nuts!

  • No. Never did! And that sucks! ;__;

  • I once had this on demo

  • Loved loved loved this game ...

  • I read somewhere that sales of Blake Stone weren't as good because Doom came out soon after.

"MEDIC!" - Wasn't this used in another game too?

  • Awesome! Played this (shareware version) as a kid.. wish i could get it and run it on XP

  • Intrud--MEDCICC

  • strafe! strafe! lol

  • Nothing beats the awesomeness of this games soundtrack. Ever. Period.

  • I loved this game as a kid.

  • This takes me back to the old days.

  • Vmware + windows 98 = Sucsess

  • I used to love getting the gold to hear that sound.

  • ahh..good old time

  • good old dos games : )

  • In a way I enjoyed Blake more than DOOM. But I can't abandom either of them.

  • I used to play this as a kid. Awesome!

  • This is otherwise nice game but the sound effects are nasty.

  • Ahh the memories...

  • hey!! i leave my gold bars scattered all over my floor too!!

  • Too mutch gold that no were to put them ! DOH

  • I used to have this! I played it on crappy windows 3.1.

  • Same! :D

  • Ditto.

  • How did you get the graphics that smooth? When I run it with dosbox, the graphics are pretty bad and jagged. The game is also awfully slow and somewhat laggy, if ya know what I mean.

  • check your dosbox.conf file. if it's default, there will be a line that says:

    cycles = 3000

change it to cycles = auto

start dosbox and try. if it still is slow, your computer is too slow.

  • Comment removed

  • Dosbox doesn't take anything to run...

  • thats not what i heard, even dosbox says it in its instructions

i've even had the computer lag, also dosbox (well when i used it) doesn't allow for full screen view

p.s those that gave me negative comment is gay

  • Excellent gameplay footage. I've heard of Blake Stone but never took the opportunity to research into the game itself, from what I've seen so far I'm fairly impressed. Seems to be a more colorful, advanced Wolfestein 3D. I especially admire the creative design of the HUD and the inclusion of a scanner which analyzes enemies. The music has a simple yet utterly brilliant catchy tune, very nostalgic I must say.

  • I can remember playing through all 6 episodes of the full game when I was younger (at the time, it was reduced to about £2.) The super-secret level in episode 3 was almost impossible to find.

  • anyone know if there is anywhere to get this game now?

  • try in shop or interner(google would be nice its maybe will cost 50 bucks)

  • this was one of the best d shooters back then. well together with doom of course xD

  • Reminds me of Corridor7

  • how did you fix the framerate? when i play the game the frames are very low

  • Hmm... If you're using DOSbox, you can hold Ctrl and press F12 to increase the CPU cycles. (Ctrl+F11 decreases cycles)

  • where can i download this game?

    please help me.

  • Okay someone help me here, how in the hell do you play this once downloading it? I downloaded it and winrar opened to I tried to extract...no idea what the hell to do. Any help is appreciated. Just send me a message. Thanks.

  • I played the crap out of the shareware Blake Stone back in the mid 90s on my dad's laptop. There was no music or even a sound card, just the internal PC speaker. I have many fond memories of spending hours looking for secrets. Even had a few bizarre dreams about the game.

  • I remember having a demo of this and playing it all the time... ancient, but awesome.

  • I really wish I could find a port to play this on my phone, I've got wolfenstein and doom on it, but i want this too!

  • Lol, i never played it, but i remember that my dad loved it^^ Unfortunately we had to throw out our first computer cause it totally crashed, never able to use it again.

But he still talks about it :D

    "Intruder! MEDIC!!"

  • Is it bad that I watch videos of older games and I get upset because the players in the video aren't doing everything to perfection?

  • If you manually set ASWD controls you'll be able to strafe a lot smoother.

  • is that gun the only gun in the game

  • No, I think there's 3 or 4 more than just that.

  • When were you born"?

  • whatever bro, this game was sick

  • I remember playing this as a kid on our old DOS computer along with wolf 3d.

The music and sound effects bring back great childhood memories.

  • ohh god, its funny to see guys playingh the same style as you did

  • lol @ 3:27
