  • This power even in her 60's.... wow.. the greatest of the greatest

  • Amazing singer:) No one comes close to Barbra live.

  • SHE USES THE BEST LYP SYNCHING SHE WOULD DENY IT BUT STILL ITS A BIT EVIDENT

  • @etrax2000 You`re sick man. Go get a life!! She`s singing LIVE!!! Go listen to other concerts from Barbra like the one in London, where her voice cracks at some high notes. Why didn`t she lip sync there? Simple, because she`s singing live and she knows that people pay a lot of money to see her performing live not listening to a damn CD!! BTW, she has an orchestra behind her so, why are they there? She`s using pre recorded tracks, right?

  • @UnTicPitic you watch too much glee. you take this stuff too close to homo

  • @etrax2000 Whatever dude, i`m not arguing with idiots. If you can`t handle the truth, that`s it. It`s your problem. Now tell us you sing better then her cause you would really make my day!! End of story

  • @UnTicPitic re: etrax2000 -- Look! I'm sorry you were born too late to experience a generation that didn't hinge its career on Pro-Tools or Auto-Tune, or other studio wizardry to create a voice that otherwise isn't there. Barbra Streisand is a high-caliber live singer. She can actually sing. Imagine that! Check out her live television shows from the sixties and early seventies. All live, no studio tracks. All she needs is a mic and an orchestra, and she's on!

  • @etrax2000 Are you deaf? This is one of the rare few who can "do it" live. She's sung some of the older songs, like Papa Can You Hear Me, along with the original film scene with her singing it in the background, to augment her voice because she can't hit those high notes anymore, but the voice is the voice. Hello. She don't need no lip sync. She's live, not Memorex.

  • @FMoran1966 WHY ARE PEOPLE SO NAIVE CONCERNiNG AUDIO TECHNOLOGY ? Ms. Streisand even used audio "Enhancements " during her Oprah concets. It's no disgrace. it's just done routinely. Whenever she missed the words, the delayed camera would simply cut away. check it out.

  • @etrax2000 -- I have no idea why people are so naive concerning audio technology, particularly the difference between "Enhancements" and lip-syncing. If by enhancements, you're referring to a microphone and orchestra, then yes Barbra Streisand employed enhancements. Have a good look at her videos from the years 1963 to 1976. Any trained ear and eye will see her performance was nowhere near the fraudulence of a lip sync. Cont...

  • @etrax2000 - Cont...Naturally she would have tele-prompting at an Oprah performance. We're talking about songs she hasn't sung in over thirty years. People need to study the entire body of her live performances, concerts and compare them to her studio productions. Contrary to the cynicism of the Auto-Tune era held by people under age 40, there have actually been real singers in the world, Barbara being the best of them.

  • @FMoran1966 I am not the Music police, Miss Streisand will not lose any of her accolades due to my opinion, becayse that is what they are "MY OPINIONS".People are now praising ADELE, but i suspect she too uses undertracking, not the same as total lip sync, but preety close to it. check out Adele on letterman and the british music awards. the piano player doesn';t even match the chords that he is pretending to play, and Bab's early tv specials were pre- recorded, not done live.audio tracks

  • @etrax2000 -- Wait, are you saying the shows/specials of 1965-66 were pre-recorded themselves, or the tracks of the songs themselves being pre-recorded, or both? I think the one performance that settles it all is her 1968 performance in Central Park. Now we're talking outdoors, where any singer, including Whitney Houston, will have their sound muted because the optimal acoustics are gone. And you can hear virtually the same strength of vocal. Her sets, in addition to fantastic sound...cont.

  • @etrax2000 -- Cont... in addition to the sound and orchestration, check out the venues themselves, on My Name is Barbra, the sets with Burt Bacharach, esp. on "Be Aware," and you'll see they were masterpieces of acoustic design - a GREAT vocal enhancer. Even Celine Dion has stated that her favorite place to sing is in an underground parking garage - where anyone can be operatic...lol. All things considered, this performance is most definitely not lip sync. The sound is enhanced, sure. that's it.

  • I was in the audience that night. There is NOTHING like hearing that voice LIVE! Thank you for everything Barbra!!!

  • Sadly I hardly knew anything of her voice or talent in 2006, so I will forever regret not going to this concert. However, these videos are quality ones of one of her best performances of the tour! Thank you very much, mjrodis!

  • I was in the audience as well that night. There is nothing like hearing that voice live. She is a performing genius and sheer magic. She just puts you in the palm of her hand. Great job Barbra!

  • @billyboylb Wow She hit all the high notes beautifully. I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to be in the audience! I'm so jealous!!!!

  • @billygoyboy Her voice live is unbelieavable....

  • @billyboylb I mean what is it like to hear those first few notes come out, knowing that she is singing them right then at that moment for you!?

  • @billygoyboy It's something to behold. I saw her in 94 at the MGM Grand on opening night after years of not performing live. At intermission every one was just silent. Some entertainers are flashy and fun, but Barbra puts an audience in awe. You know you're in the presence of greatness when you hear her sing live. And it's really a privilege.

  • @billyboylb Thanks for your response! I apologize for not getting back to you sooner!

  • she is wonderful

  • My partner Roby bought me tickets to see this concert in Las Vegas in Nov. 2006 when I was going through a hard time moving to Tucson, AZ. I cried tears of joy through this songs and many other during this outstanding concert. I am praying now that she tours again.

  • I was there also - astonishing. And, yes,

great that she opened with "Starting Here,

Starting Now." But how equally great it

would've been had she closed with "Goodnight",

    the lovely Beatles' composition featured

on her 1969 album "What About Today?"

  • OMG, what a great idea; I bet Barbra wished she'd thought of that! "Goodnight" is indeed an awesome cut from the very underated What About Today?

  • @pandorabangles That is such a beautiful song, which of course Barbra sings beautifully!

  • I was there....never will forget that night....

  • @xandre111 It sounded like she was hitting the true high notes that the song calls for. Fantastic.

  • @billygoyboy Yep. She nearly hit all of them. She's about an octive lower, on average, than she used to be, but she did come very close to hitting all her original notes on this one. I was very impressed, after being a little disappointed at the fact that her vocal cords would actually get older...lmao. We always want the perfect, youthful original. But she did great on this one. And what a great one to do great on!.

  • Gorgeous!

  • The Best!

  • she is the greatest that ever was, bar none.

  • Amazing.

  • Wow! She's still got it!

  • her voice still can soar the scale with power

  • Oh, and Streisand's voice remains the best there is.

  • Hail to the Queen. Barbra is the BEST

  • She did it alone? If I'm not mistaken that same year the Eagles and Rolling Stones toured to insane and ridiculous prices. Concert prices had been going up for years before she came along. I DO think it's exorbitant, but the choice is never see her live or pay more. People make their own decisions. In 2000 I made mine and I have to say I'm really happy about it. The people who paid 1,000s for their tickets..well, they probably aren't hurting THAT bad.

  • Streisand's voice remains the best there is.

  • Streisand is still AWESOME!

  • Streisand remains the greatest singer there is.

  • This woman has the best voice in the business!

  • She's incredible. The best there's ever been.

  • Loved Streisand...hated Staples Center. The damn place was designed for sports not single performers. Too many bad seats. Drove there from SF.

  • amazing I drove from SF too...had a great seat though. Were you really badly seated?

  • Yes. After I bought the tickets from Ticketmasters it read "Limited View". Having never been to the Staples Center I had no idea of the seating. The frame work of the lights blocked most of the view. I did not get much bang for my money. I got tired of having to watch the suspended screen and left during intermission. I have been a loyal fan since she started in the early, early 60's. I will wait for the DVD to see the rest of the show. I will never deal with Ticketmaster again.

  • Simply GREAT!

  • Great to see and hear that again...back home! Was seated floor level #6, 3rd row, seat 7; Wasn't she wonderful?!

  • Do you have Unusual Way? ...Thank you for these! -A

  • Awesome. Thank you for sharing this.

  • Beautiful Barbra performed fantastically that night. 20,000 people all worshiping her!

  • Thanks so, Marvelous!

  • We were there too, what a night! We were so glad she picked this song to start with. A flash back to 1972 at the Forum for my partner. Thanks for sharing this clips. My picture phone pics from Monday suck.

  • WOW, the power. She is still so damn good it's scary.

  • which show is this from? Philly?

  • Bel--the Staples Center is in Los Angeles. This is the last show! Sushi

  • I can't express what I feel when she sings this, oy so powerful

  • Brilliant!

  • Thank you very much for this!

  • This is my all time favorite Barbra song, so happy she is singing it again and sounding incredible, wow that last note!!

  • I was there too...unbelieveable performance. I've seen her several times and I've never seen her so relaxed and fun....She still sounds amazing!

  • What a sensational opening to an awesome concert....i'm glad i was there to see her perform in person....thanks for the great clip....she sounds wonderful.
