  • This vid is an outright lie...trust me..I am one of their neighbors and that lawn was crap BEFORE Trugreens' service...... just to be fair.

  • A FUSION CENTER IN EVERY AREA NEEDS TO KICK THEIR ASS. Its not funny anymore. Veterans of War still die from Agent Orange. We should not allow them to push this BIG business BS anymore. I'll b a Confidant, SilentSource, whatever it takes, all I know is, with a BA in MassComm, TV,Radio and SATCOM, this generation isn't going to hang out for an ass kicking like, I apologize but you dropped the ball, the Boomers. JFK"those who foolishly rode the back of the TIGER... ended up, inside..."

  • You do water. Trugreen kills your lawn. It is hell getting it back up to snuff.

  • Water you fucking lawn you dumb shit!

  • Your poor lawn is not a result of TruGreen's services

    1) You have your lawnmower set too low. Never mow lower than 3" during the summer months. Cutting a lawn to short thins it out, allowing weeds to prosper.

    2) Not enough water. Water 1" every other day during the summer months. That's about 1 hour per section with an automatic system. Doing this will require the roots to "chase" the water, resulting in deeper roots.

Do this and your lawn will improve.

  • TRUGREEN DOES NOT ALWAYS ABIDE BY THEIR CONTRACT WITH THE CUSTOMER. WE HAPPEN TO BE ONE OF THOSE. NEW PEOPLE COME AND GO, HATE THAT..

CALLS WERE TO BE MADE BEFORE ANYONE CAME TO TREAT OUR YARD, TREATMENTS MADE EVEN WHEN WE WEREN'T HOME AND UNAUTHORIZED..WE LIVE ON A LIMITED INCOME, WHICH THEY KNOW DARN WELL, THEY CONTINUED APPLICATIONS. NOW THEY'RE CALLING EVERY WEEK 2-3 TIMES WANTING THEIR MONEY. TOLD THEM TODAY NOT TO CALL AND BADGER US ABOUT OUR BILL WE PAY WHAT WE CAN.

    BEWARE WITH TRUGREEN

  • FUCK TRU GREEN THEY SUCK! THEY KILLED MY NEIGHBORS LAWN OVER A 5 MONTH PERIOD AND THEY FINALLY QUIT USING THEM!

I DO MY OWN YARD WITH SCOTTS AND IT LOOKS LIKE A GOLFCOURSE!

  • @SL8R71 AND I USE ABSOLUTELY NO WEED KILLER ! THE BEST WEED PREVENTER IS A HEALTHY THICK LAWN!

  • Every grass type reacts differently, also the customer may have bermuda and come November want their yard aerated and overseeded but, those months were doing fescue grass only.....the stubborn customer wants it anyways....so then you get the fescue seed on top of your bermuda and the techs apply chemicals for the fescue and this is your result....or the customer doesn't water enough as said before. Not every location is bad and yes I work for them

  • YOU HAVE TO WATER!!!!!!!!!!

  • You have perenial and annual grasses, NOT weeds. They are not controllable except with post-emergent control such as Roundup. Those grasses tend to thrive on under or non-irrigated soils. You also have a lot of trees, which will pose a huge competition with your lawn. You should improve cultural practices, ask questions, and have realistic expectations considering your landscape situation and stop blaming TruGreen as if THEY are the ONLY problem.

  • degenerate puppets who buy into this shit may as well be using astroturf

  • It looks like POOR cultural practices to me. Try watering your lawn

  • They did that to my grass too!!!

    punch in the search:

    trugreen crosseyedwillie

  • i'm a broke college student as well and i'd sooner drink down a gallon of bleach than work for such a fucked-up company as trugreen. poisoning the earth for profits. hell, why don't people just fill the god-damned yards in with astroturf if they're so insane about having it look picture fucking perfect!?

and have you read about the bumblebees?? they're going extinct because of all the missing dandelions!!

  • @erotickatana It's actually clover.

  • i believe one of the biggest embarrassments to this country would be all the fools who pour Tru-Green/Chemlawn on their yards in a sickening effort to keep them looking like golfball greens. my idiot neighbors, for example, have already had three applications and in the morning as the dew evaporates the air fills with an unbelievably horrid stench. and guess what? killing off all the weeds is causing honeybees to go extinct!

moral of the day: FUCK YOU, TRU-GREEN!

  • @bozobubbles fuck you

  • Yeah I'm also a tech with Trugreen it could and could have not been Trugreens fault maybe you do need to water your lawn or maybe the tech didn't apply the app as well either way TRUGREEN IS not trying to rip of there customers and just get to know your lawn tech ;)

  • They either were over feeding the shaded area or that possibly could be grub damage. But judging by the trees you have, this was most likely over feeding. 1/4 the normal rate of fertilizers should be used in the shaded areas if anything at all. Trugreen is just a marketing company out to get your money and they don't care about their customers. They are widely becoming known for their bad customer communication.

  • I have the identical experience on my lawn. Ruined and dead and to all the smart posters mentioning "watering your lawn"...we did and prior to using the TruGreen company we had never a problem.

  • i worked for trugreen for 10 years. the employees are under alot of pressure to produce. sales guy goes out, under prices the property to get the sale= lawn tech cuts corners to hit daily goal so he's not working 60 hours per week for peanuts. i remember how they would put anybody on a truck, if you had a pulse you had a job.. i think some of the guys they put on trucks were crackheads! lol.. IMO, you will have better luck with a smaller mom and pop. service.get to know your specialist...

  • @inzane61 I'm a broke college student and got a call today from Trugreen to drive and do lawn stuff. Was offered $10-11/hour. What exactly do they do and is it worth it???

  • I work for Trugreen in St. Peters in Missouri and after watching your video, I strongly recommend that you take advantage of our Horticultural treatments we offer. We have a coupon for 39.95 for the first app right now! Message me if you need details :D Thank you for using Trugreen to GO GREENER!

  • @addisonwhite THAT SOUNDS JUST LIKE TRUGREEN.... WE HAVE A TREATMENT FOR THAT! JUST TO GET MORE MONEY ! I WATCHED THEM KILL MY NEIGHBORS LAWN FOR 5 MONTHS! I USE SCOTTS AND HAVE A GOLF COURSE LOOKING YARD YEAR ROUND! BERMUDA IN THE SUMMER AND WINTER RYE IN THE WINTER!

  • The dirt in Clifton Park where the Van Patten houses is sand and being August most lawns dont look to good.... I put some of my dads best soil from his garden in Ballston Lake on my soil and it was like pouring beach sand on my plants!!!

  • Try watering your damn lawn once in a while!

  • I used to be a lawn tech for trugreen, you will want to use a more shade tolerant grass such as red fescue. Also some trimming of the lower tree branches will help. Watering only helps, otherwise grass will go dormant (brown) in order to survive. Mowing above three inches is very important as well, the shorter you mow, the harder it is on the grass. The thickest, healthiest, lawns are all taller than three inches. To prevent crabgrass, you will want to thicken the lawn as much as possible.

  • Aerate and then water often for longer than 20 minutes per section. Trees are grabbing nutrients and moisture. Top coat and overseed. Crab grass is evident of lack of water in midsummer heat. Water water water. Its not Tru Greens fault.

  • :D i like this song

  • TruGreen is ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE...why continue to use them? They are notorious for providing bad service.

  • why do you keep zooming in on the pesticide flag? The pesticide trugreen uses doesnt effect your lawn at all. maybe water your lawn once in a while

  • @muhuskerfan32 oh, another TruGreen emplyoee? Keep on posting, your newest threads will push this video in the Search Engines like Google always a little bit higher in ranking because of actuality!

  • @vjaeckel actually i work on a golf course. pesticides have no effect on turf health.

  • I love how they blame Tru Green for this. That is obviously from you not watering your lawn lazy ass.

  • @jULIArSMITH do you work for them? And why name calling when you are not affected?

  • @vjaeckel Yep. It looks like you mowed too low and didnt water 2" per week like you were told. Sorry bout the lazy ass thing. Must have been a bad day.

  • TRU GREEN SUCKS !!!! U CANT BELIEVE WHAT THEY DID TO MY GRASS !!!!!

  • @polska1976 I BELIEVE IT! ALL YOU WOULD HAVE TO TELL ME IS TRU GREEN AND MY RESPONSE WOULD BE " THEY FUCKED UP YOUR YARD "!

  • I agree with eddie1148 It is obvious that lawn needs water! This home owner needs to be educated.

  • Great. Can't wait to see how the Lawn Doctor does on our yard in CKS.

  • we have so much weeds in the grass, not alot but several parts and here and there.,anybody knows what we should use? something from homedepot. Please let me know the best product. They have the sprays but it doesn't work that well and I want the weeds to stop growing.

  • @handsometall28 the stuff trugreen uses makes the weeds grow faster so they will die faster than your grass.

  • Tru Green .. Great Job done Guyz .. Cant even imagine its my lawn .. will post some video too

  • o... you must have mistaken TruGreen with Magic in a Truck... Any lawn service is only 50% of the solution... Water, Mowing, and Proper cultural practices must be applied... Seems like you thought it was Magic... Maybe next time, call David Copperfeild or something... the sad thing was the guy probabley only paid for one application... on second thought try calling Tinkerbell, she could probably fix your lawn....... should have put the effort in your lawn insted of a stupid video...

  • @purepredatorcalls

Im a tree and shrub tech for trugreen. I was joking with a customer, and one of his trees was dying from emerald ash borers, which I had diagnosed the season prior. All of a sudden the tree was dying, and he wanted me to save it. I told him "I dont have any Jesus juice in my truck, or I would" Had a talk with my manager that evening, lol

  • How exactly is any company suppose to make Chicken salad out of chicken shit? Brother, you need to drop back and punt. Begin with a pruning service or chainsaw. Irrigate, then you will eliminate the obstacles causing problems. At that point you may begin to develop your lawn rather than paying for a comapny to maintain it. They maintain WhAT YOU HAVE. you got dealt a tough hand to play, but it is playable. Good luck. Aerate, water, over seed, then woory about feeding and weed control.

  • if u look at 1min. 45 seconds it is obvious that that is fungus and tremontifan24 was right about the sign....everybody that said they own a company was wrong as well so i feel sorry for their customers....and RsldDecapod i dont know y u only made 300 a week with those hours cause i work maybe 50 and i clear almost double that...ive been with the company a little over a year

  • Well I guess i can't add anything else to say about this company. I did work the '07-'08 and a half season. They do suck! I now work 40-45 hr weeks and make 55k with a real comp. Whereas I worked 60 hr weeks and lucky to bring home $300 a week. I guess the guys who defend this company must be management and don't bust there balls on a hot or cold rainy days. Like I said I have nothing to add.

  • want to blame someone blame yourself idiot

  • you cheep bastard... first there is shade, second u dont water, treatments itself wont do anything for you unless u water, u retard...... water + fert + weed control = green weedfree lawn. no water no green u ass.

  • use a small company, and you have to water, no use in paying for a service then not watering.

  • the sign said pesticide app, not weed killer or fertilizer...

  • ummmm....weed killer IS a pesticide, the weed is the pest. Thats what the govt says

  • well of course grass in not going to grow where there is none you moron, quit being lazy and do it urself then

  • TruGreen definitely SUCKS!! I used to be a Tech for them a few years ago. Most of the Techs there were horrible and had no real clue what they were doing because the company doesn't take the necessary time to adequately train. Its all about "Numbers" to those corporate guys. Quantity (number of customers) and not quality. There were a couple of us who were good at our job but the best advise is to educate yourself and treat your own lawn. Its ridiculously easy!!

  • this is true. i am also in the industry and most people who have this problem are uninformed customers. granted there is way to many issues on this lawn you tech is not telling you about, the shade and lack of irigation is hurting also. its a combined issue. but your technician is horrible.

  • A friend of yours? Al forget to mention the insect activity that was treated for free and fertilized a month later. No watering, scalping the lawn and the tree issue. It's easier to blame the big guy then to look at your own ineptitude. By the way, the neighbors still use the service.@oOViolenceOo

  • looks like you cant water your lawn, idiot

  • I kknow truegreen sucks but in defense of lawn spray services...sir, you are an idiot. You think miracles are sprayed from the tanks?Whatever is done, you need to f'n water it in and on a recurring basis. Good turf is only supported by a healthy root system...healhty root systems are only created with timely and sufficient amounts of water. When will you people learn. Besides truegreen is such a bargain priced service...what do you expect. Good service isn't cheap and cheap service isn't good.

  • Nice try, youre the same guy that takes your car to get your oil changed and then says they broke something.

  • you guys are all idiots if u look close its is sod

and another thing damage would not show that soon after an application

  • i think you need grub control!!!!

  • Yes, water your lawn. It's heat stressed!!!!! Oh and those tall natural trees are sucking up all the water and nutrients in your lawn. Water your trees too! 30 minutes a day every other day.....

  • Great, more pesticides in streams and groundwater. What the hell does a person need to put pesticides on their lawn for? It's just grass you idiots. Would you rather have cancer or an artificially green lawn?

  • cancer

  • yea dude ur an idiot

  • chem lawn is a big scam just google true green chemlawn to see all the complaints!!!!!

  • Im sure you probably only get 2 applications a year, you dont water, probably only been on the service for a month, and expect everything to be perfect. Oh, and we wont mention all the areas that are thin, are in the shade. TruGreen is the top company for a reason. You have millions of customers, your bound to get some people that wont listen, but still complain.

  • Obviously you have googled chemlawn LOL

  • Actually, I work for Trugreen. Idiot. Its customers like you that make our jobs alot harder than they need to be. And if your tech is doing a bad job, ITS YOUR TECH, not Trugreen. You take your car to be fixed, and the mechanic sucks and does a bad job. Its the mechanic that was trusted to do the job, not the shop.

  • I work for trugreen in Utah, and it does work... I am on the sales team but I know it works. You need "a commercial core aeration" and a disease resistant blend of our KB grass seeding to get your lawn really going. I also recommend going with our 6 step fert program with the sulfur treatment at the end of the year with that yearly core aeration. Also, taking full advantage of our grub treatment. By the look of your lawn it shouldnt be over 60 dollars a treatment. Cheaper than diy.

  • I believe you do work for Trugreen because you don't know what you are talking about. The acid levels in soil along the east coast are high and require annual lime applications to adjust the PH level. Applying sulfur would raise the acid level and would impact the grass in a negative way. Also Kentucky Blue grass does not do well in Northern New York State because of the frigid weather. Get yourself a real job before ServiceMaster breaks up Trugreen and sells it off branch by branch.

  • water moron

  • They sprayed your lawn and it died within a few hoyrs or a day. Not likely, the sign in the lawn looks fairly fresh. Try watering idiot

  • AERYBVUIARCaKNybvgfaydcbeddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddddfwrefqfry4h7h8im8oj56yvwv45t45ttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttttsssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss

  • now's the time of year to core aerate and overseed your lawn. also a pretty good idea to go ahead and do a lime application ;)

  • Try some water and maybe some sunlight you HAMMERHEAD

  • i know this neighborhood, i own a lawn care company that services that neighborhood. the bare ground is from too much shade, period. the rest of the lawn needs water, obviously. homeowners dont properly maintain their lawns and then blame others for their ignorance. i have had a few people complain that their lawns look terrible but yet they never water and they mow their lawn every few weeks and cut it at 2" or less with a dull blade. i try to educate my customers on proper lawn maintenance.

  • trugreen does treat pl like shit, but wtf is this guys deal... that shits obviously not from fertilizer or pesticides...

  • I worked for TruGreen for 2 years....take it from me-DO NOT HIRE THEM. Technicians have to reach a daily goal in revenue, which is not possible to reach while giving quality results. They want to get your lawn done as quickly as possible. If they dont hit their weekly production goal, their salary rates shrinks. I worked 65-70 hrs some weeks and made little over 400 dollars-is that even fucking legal? They told me they were not required to pay overtime because it was classified as 'agriculture'

  • lol i thought my TGCL branch was the only one who treated their employees like dirt.. where was urs?? p.s. tru dat on the shitty job thing

  • looks like some insect activity. should have been diagnosed. but they are out every 5-6 weeks. they are not personal gardeners. if you had time fto make this video, maybe you should have called when you noticed a problem. and what the hell you talking about 30 lawns a day. i gotta treat 35-40 to hit my goal. but my customers are very happy and well taken care of, you will always have the assholes that can do it better themselves. WELL THEN FUCKING DO IT YOURSELF1

  • 35 to 40 lawns a day Roger? Wow... that's a lot. So tell us Roger...do you treat all the weeds the like the salesperson promised or do you "fert and fly" like a man in a big hurry? Did the salesperson tell the customers that the technician would be in and out in 10-15 minutes?

  • yep, and i hit all the weeds and when we are doing dry i go over the lawn twice with weed control after. some of us are more efficient than others. trust me i have a bunch of idiots i work with that treat 3-4 lawns an hour. you can be quick and efficient. i used to be in sales and i got out. i dont promise people shit. i set proper expectations for my customers and treat them well like its my own lawn

  • Did you ever think that it was the heavy shade you have on the property? And the fact that your soil looks extremely compacted and hard? Maybe you should think about an aeration to loosen up the soil compaction, overseed with a shady blend seed in the fall, and try to actually understand how a healthy lawn functions before you start criticizing the professionals.

  • how does the lawn look now? was it grubs, sod webworm, chinchbugs? im sure it was treated for all at no charge though, huh? imagine a furnace guy fixing a major problem for free because you have them service your house. maybe you should actually listen to your technician instead of looking for someone to blame, and actually taking recommendations seriously.

  • It looks to me like lack of watering....You need to switch to Lawn Doctor...thats who I use and they are awesome!

  • Go to a elevator company get some 16-16-16 fertilizer . Comes in 50 to 66 # bags. I worked for chemlawn back in the 80s and we stopped using it because customers were skipping treatments because it worked so well. No bullshit. I still use it to this day and do very little spot weeding all year. grass looks like a carpet. Also does wonders for the garden.

  • Could be not enough water or thinning from the trees but looks like it very well could be Grubs also.I bet Grubs

  • your lawn has bawld spots due to lack of watering not from the chemicals from true green. truGreen maintains my lawn and it looks great!

  • Look no weeds though!!!! TruGreen is #1 and is the biggest lawn company there is. That didn't just happen and didn't just happen overnight either.

  • I work with TruGreen as a Sales Rep. You definitely need to water your lawn really really good. Also, I recommend you Aerate and put more seed down.

Fertilizer won't cure the thinness in your yard.

  • Actually, lol you might want to get your pitch right before telling them that fertilizer wont thicken your lawn. I work for one of the top sales branches in the country... TruGreen's Fertilizer is very Potassium rich. This is a major root stimulator which creates ribosomes, baby grass that actually thickens and chokes out weeds. Of course, why would you invest into a good fertilizer if you dont water and take care of your shit?!?!

  • what branch?

  • Sorry dude, but i worked for TGCL for 16 yrs and with all that shade, if you put down the same fert rate as in a sunny area it will thin out faster NOT thicken up. Typical sales mentality there. I agree with the watering and seeding mentioned by others

  • My girlfriend worked for them for 2 yrs here in Michigan. IF you get the right Customer Service Person ( before they fire them for giving out to many "freebies" ) then you will get proper Care. If you have to talk to a "manager" kiss your a** goodbye .They will convince you it is all your problem and you need a lot of different srevices B4 your done. THIS lawn however needs WATER!!!!

  • I'm an ex-ChemLawn guy and now own my own lawn care business. Not a fan of ChemLawn, however this time I must come to their defense...as painful as it is. Obvious drought stress - browning is caused by a defense mechanism against inadequate moisture..not ChemLawn's fault...ouch that hurt. Bottom line...WATER. We are pros in the Green Industry not magicians. I insure all of my customers are coached on proper cultural practices for their lawn and shrubs...too bad you don't live in DFW.

  • I've worked in lawn care for 24 years. Like TruGreen or hate TruGreen they (and no one else) can control the weather nor your own cultural practices. Your lawn is drought stressed. No agronomic program can compensate for lack of water. The plant just shuts down (brown) to try to stay alive. I say this politely but rather than walk over the lawn with a video camera you might try putting some sprinklers out and providing some needed irrigation.

  • DO NOT HIRE THIS CON ARTIST COMPANY!!!! They made my lawn look like a World War One battle scene where a pasture is turned inot a muddy field with one bare tree standing up in the middle! Use Scotts 4 step lawn treatment, water your lawn, get a landscaper to air rate your lawn, don't mow it super short....use the interent for all kinds of household products that can fix any problem. NO MATTER WHAT, DON'T USE CHEM LAWN!!!!!!!!

  • You sound like you work with Scott's. No offense. Trugreen is #1 in the industry for a reason.

  • TruGreed ChemLawn is #1 in revenue and #1 in profit...this is true, but they have a huge turnover rate in employees and in customers. It's a fact ChemLawn "salesman." ChemLawn customers get fed up and cancel at a high rate...higher than the industry average. The reason is the "assembly line lawn care" approach. 30 stops per day produces shitty results...period. Quality takes time and attention to detail not the GET R DONE in 5-10 minutes and move on to the next stop attitude.

  • Isn't this Johnny Rotten's territory?

  • That's my route. I barely remember though since I was only there long enough to put the door hanger on the door knob.

  • Reminds me of the good ole' days...We'll do your lawns for $27!!! Slimming Class 1's was fun! There are suckers born every minute.

  • Lawncare requires 3 main parts...watering, mowing and feeding. This past summer's heat was very stressful on lawns. Your lawn appears to be mowed very short and the lack of watering mentioned would be extra stressful especially if it is mostly sunny. Try having only dry applications of fertilizer in Spring and Fall, and watering at least 1" every week in the early AM, and mowing at least 3" high, especially from Jun-Aug.

  • Part 2: In the autumn, after several calls that were totally ignored, I did get a free service call to try to get the lwn back into shape in th spring. In the spring, the company is going to try again to get it back into shape. So far, I have paid for every treatment but the one mentioned above.

  • Part 1: I am the homeowner. I used this service the prior year as well. My neighbors on either side also used the same service for the same 2 years in a row. My neighbors and I have identical conditions. None of us water. My lawn sudenly did extremely poorly, while my neighbors' did not. I assume that the person who treated my lawn made some sort of error in the amount of chemicals applied or in the choice of chemicals that were applied. My lawn was ruined.

  • you have to water the lawn thats it lawn care is a pain in the ass in the best of times Its not an exsact science mostly educadted guess

  • If you don't water, your lawn will look like that regardless if you use Trugreen or not. You have to water and mow properly.

  • @alcannistraro doubt it your neighbor was watering the lawn probably when you wasn't looking. They even tell you to water your lawn. Even Scotts tell you to water your lawn.

  • I have worked for trugreen for many years. It is amazing that people think we are responsable for averything that can happen to a lawn we apply fertilization weed and insect control thats it.we provide free service calls when needed most of the problems are caused by the home owner lack of patience, water, maintence, lawn looked like shit to begin so take your video and shove it

  • I work for TGCL biggest competitor, that being SLS, reviewing this lawn, i have alot of questions

    1) Number of Apps Taken

    2) Seedings thats were performed

    3) Weather Conditions

    4) amount of watering done

It looks like you have alot of drought stress and lack of seeding

  • Comment removed

  • I agree with you. I know a lot of happy Trugreen customers.

  • TGCL sucks.

  • i cant wait until i start my job ruining lawns with true green chemlawn next week. they say i will be mowing up to 30 lawns per day. maybe this is why the quality is bad.

  • Comment removed

  • i mow lawns for them right now dumbass.

  • Comment removed

  • what bathrooms, dumbass?

  • lets see......looks like you live in a forest...hmmm....never seen grass in a forest...can you say shade.....have you ever heard of water...atleast take the time to edge the property and cut the bushes and make it appear your doing something...?

  • bet you don't even water. Half of our customers don't. Sorry asses.

  • This is the truth, I used to work for tru green. They where sued at least 30 times in the time I was there.

Who ever sees this. Please do not use them.

  • What did you expect? TruGreen is too greedy to care about the health of your lawn. Next time hire someone who will actually care. I.E. a local small business vs. a nation-wide company.

  • you lawn has a lot in common with your video...they both suck.

  • grats. best comment so far.
