I was there for the finals in 1987... still gives me goosebumps when I listen to the opening number. (I was marching with the Canadian Knights... we finished 28th or something... :) This was an amazing show, and SCV absolutely rocked that year, too.
I like this show, you guys were pretty good that year. I remember on finals night after we got off the field running to see two of my friends in the drumline perform after winning. This was a good show. Ron had a face of disbelief. LOL
Man, this is great. I've always loved GC's absolutely no-nonsense presentation - just military precision and complete focus and discipline. Nice seeing this obscure footage!
What a crack up. The first thing I thought when I saw this was, Jesus, that heat in St. Louis. Glad to see I'm not the only one. Also, remember the runaway corps at Six Flags playing twice as fast as scored. Note Doug's frantic arms in video. Hop was not happy. Thank you, Linda. What a treasure.
Yeah, not everyone could perform for finals because of that storm so they had to use the scores from Prelims. Good news for MY corps because we kicked ass in prelims and were flatter than a pancake in finals. Take THAT Dutchboy!
I remember it being about 1000 degrees at 6 flags and in St. Louis that summer. The thermometer on the field said it was 118 or so. The glue melted off my shoe. Brutal. We got rained out that night and SCV won the show with their prelim scores.I forgot about the pitchers mound on the 35 yard line. Cool to see the old team in action again. We were pretty good
My band director marched baritone this year!

There should be more cymbal lines in DCI now.....I just heard some amazing stuff in this vid!

I love the first part of the video. You can hear so well Hannum's wonderful writing for cymbals. I'll take this cymbal line over anything from SCV.

Have the Cadets recovered from the bad reception they received to the show that had the vocal narration? in 2007 was it?

I was just wondering if anyone out there has any video or film footage of Garfield 1984 West Side Story show? This is my favorite show from Garfield.

I agree. They say they are going back to tradition this year, so I hope to see the orignal uniform come back.

I love this version of the uniforms than the present. Color, style, etc

One of the top 3 drum corps shows ever designed in my opinion.
Do you have any more videos? especially featuring the drumline?

Do you have any more tapes-especially featuring the drumline?

Nope this is all I have. I was a Soprano player so I don't have much on the drum line.
