You know as soon as that "T" popped in they should have sounded a "cuckoo." As Tony Barber on Aussie's Sale of The Century once said after a question with briefs as the answer said "OH REG YOU LITTLE TEASER!" After all (fanfare) "Scrabble is a Reg Grundy Production."
Now, if someone could find the episode where Chuck said "before we begin, let's reCRAP the scores"...yes, I heard that blooper when Scrabble still aired on NBC!
Best ep ever. Income was the response to the Q "Dolly Parton has a big one". Another question on this same ep was "These are grand". The answer Tetons. Tetons, Dolly Parton and then this. I didn't know scrabble did theme shows.
I agree. There should be a "GSN Classic" channel with all those old game shows (including the ones they play from 9:00-12:00 PM). Also, during the early morning hours, they played Card Sharks when Bob hosted it. Was the "asses" clip in this same episode, and do you have the rest of this one? One more thing, RIP George Carland, even though your word has an 'S' at the end of it.
Considering Henry Beckman was a minor celebrity (he was a semi-regular on McHale's Navy and numerous other shows), it's kind of remarkable that he passed a game show audition- then again, they were much less strict about casting back then.
I thought it was interesting when Henry said, "should I try it", "I'll go for it", that the tiles he selected just happened to spell IT. Wow. What are the odds!
One of the original "Seven Dirty Words" actually, but it's been phased out on broadcast TV...I think I heard it on "The Office" about a year ago.
A similar incident happened to Chuck about 20 years later on Lingo...during a seven-letter tie breaker, the word was CURRENT, except, "RRE" was missing. Take it from there... ;-)

It actually took me a minute to realize that it was referring to the letters shown instead of the word itself.

Chuck: "Getting intense, Henry!"
Henry: "Like a Cub Scout! In Tents! Uh, never mind!"
Chuck's reaction at 0:35 is what made him and the show great to watch. I wish GSN would run those shows again! New shows suck!

@ 0:56, all the stoners who saw it must be thinking, "Duh-huh-huh-huh-huh! They funny!!!" :-D
And Henry still creeps me out... he looks like he's angry about something.
