The pre Summerslam stuff with Booker was hilarious...the Stephanie insults...the way he basically spat on Austin, HHH, and Angle leading to WM 17....The Rock is the Rock. There is no "certain era". He's always been a cheered villain....from the get go. No matter the voice tone, and that's strange for a DUDE to be wondering about voice tones anyway..
If you like his hyped up high pitched voice promos better, then whatever. If you're gonna "smack" me then you better "smack" the other guys that said they prefer his deeper voice promos too.
Rock from 1998 to 2001 was fucking awesome, 2002-2003 was brilliant as heel on 2003, and well, in 2011, still The Rock, the difference it's call... "TV-PG"
