  • Nooooooo!!!!!!!! Come back to the dark side of banked track roller derby! Fuck yea!

  • How did you get your voice so naturally feminine sounding? Is that your natural voice or did you train it or have surgery?

  • @Centaurean I worked on it a bit in the beginning. But honestly, people often thought I was a girl on the phone. For some reason I would always talk higher on the phone. I guess I just always use my phone voice now. hahaha.

  • The whole point of transitioning is to stop being transgender and (in my case) just be a normal lesbian women. The farther you get into your new life, the less relevant the Trans thing is, because you are no longer being forced by society to be something you are not. Now you, like most others, are just you. Enjoy your new freedom from being trans. You might even want to set this cannel aside and start a new one about your new passion - Roller Derby. I would subscribe in a heartbeat!

  • @TransInsight That's pretty much my take on it now. And yes, talking more about derby instead has been on my mind. :) Get out of my brain!

  • hey just a general question and stop me if it gets too personal but...do people in your life know you're trans? LIke you roller derby mates, or just general circle of friends? Just curious. Thanks.

  • @Daymnwheresmycola I think most do. It's an open secret, I guess? I don't hide it but I don't advertise it. It's not really important in my day to day. People seem to find out from other people, so what's the point. I have this vlog with well over half a million hits. Silly to pretend it's a secret. Not that I'm well known in derby as being trans or anything. It honestly just doesn't get brought up.

  • So great to see another video after so long, (did expect one from after Con in August hehe), even if I have been following LA Derby Dolls and ACDG (congratulations btw well deserved!) So glad your playing WFTDA now, so much more competitive.

    Hair is looking fabulous.

Hoping to get back to RollerCon again this year so will hopefully get my photo on again.

Again great to see another video and NATIONALS ARE YOURS! WOOO HOOO :)

  • Yay! Love listening to your blogs :) Your attitude rocks. And that's so cool about the KFP2 credits :O Will look out for them.

Oh, and I'm on doxycyclite (or whatever it's called) for evil flu infection. Antibioticsisters unite :D

  • @debutantebrawl Hi Penny, I have a very special request for you. I am a pre-op TS who is in search of having the SRS next year and I wanted to know from a Post-Op woman's point of view, when do you tell or do you tell a man that you was born genitically male? I've been having that question running thru my mind for the past month or so. Do You tell or Don't You tell?

  • @SupaHead1977 Yikes. I dunno. I've only dated girls since. And they've known. Everyone has to make their own decisions. But my personal feelings have been that I wouldn't want to keep it from my special person. Besides, I want them to know that I can't have my own kids, don't expect to see any photos of me as a little girl, and I'd hate for it to come up later on down the road. That could be an unforgivable shock, I'd imagine.

  • Thanks for a video Penny and please keep them coming we all missed you so much. I'd love to see your new uniform for the Angel City Derby Girls. Lastly sorry to hear you've been ill and hope you get better soon.

  • Hi Fifi. Wish I was young enough to do any sort of Roller Derby! Are the other girls relaxed about your history?

    Sarah (UK)

  • @Teslagirl7 There's a girl in my league that's 49, I believe. Check out Angel City's Tumblr. There's a little story about her. I myself am almost 33 and consider myself in my prime with some years ahead of me. And yeah, I'm pretty sure most of the league knows about my past and def my entire team and they seem pretty fine with me. Haven't had a run-in here, my last league or any other place I've skated. I met a few vlog viewers at the last RollerCon, too. Pretty great community.

  • Howdy. I thought I had a cold for several months. But I eventually figured out that I was just allergic to something in my apartment. Are you sure you don't need to make some gaegogi? ;-)

  • Hi Penny, I happy to see you again.

I hope you get better soon

    Hugs

    *Sarah*

  • Nice to hear from you! :)

  • Well, well well,, she climbed out of the well. Get better soon. Get a chest xray if this doesnt clear up in a week. There is really bad lingering bugs going around this winter. I had to do two rounds of antibiotics for my UPI which led to a UTI after. I was miserable for over 5 weeks.

  • @Jenna08848 I got a chest xray! Put me on antibiotics and codeine. I think I'm all better now. I think. :) Just a terrible lung infection. Blah. I don't want that again.

  • Hi Penny!!! Glad to see that life is treating you well except for the whole bird flu thing. Youve got one hell of a checklist goin on. Girlfriend check, cool career check, LA check, (the list goes on) im so jealous for you. Did I say jealous? I meant...happy for you! x

  • I'm glad you decided to do another video. :) And since I semi-recently messaged you about you doing another vlog, I think I will take some credit for you posting a new video. :D Yay! Also cheers to getting better. You sounded semi-somber. I'd like to see you feeling better.

  • @QueenFiria Take all the credit. hahaha. ;)

  • Welcome to the flat track! Take care of your health, and everything will be a bit better. My blog is Transitioning to roller derby as well!

  • @Forlorn79 Nice! Where do you skate?

  • @debutantebrawl I skate with the Hellions of Troy in New York. I just made it as a player after being a referee for them and graduating from fresh meat.

  • Penny: Nice to have another vlog from you (albeit under the weather so to speak). Do feel better soon and congrats to you (and the the rest of your team) on your new Derby gig. Lastly, some more factoids about your number 108:

According to martial artists, there are 108 pressure points in the body, where consciousness and flesh intersect to give life to the living being.

An official Major League Baseball baseball has 108 stitches.

There are 108 cards in a deck of UNO cards.

    All the best....

  • @karaokepmp Whoa!!! So many 108 facts! It's a pretty special number. :)

  • Penny!!! Marie here.Long time no see.Great to hear that things are going well for you.Am still transitioning PreOp so my life is where you were over a year ago.Good to hear that you have a new special somone in your life & it shows in the way you express yourself. My love life sucks!Am in limbo No dates,no mates a blank. It`s my fault i`m afraid of getting burned again. Not fun when i have mental hangups regarding relationships.I envy you.Happy New-Year Penny. All the best, get better soon.Huggs Bye!

  • ...missed a concert, too, dammit!

  • Had bronchitis back in October so I can sympathize with the 2-month cold thing (at the same time that we had the freak snowstorm and power outage here!) Good luck on the new team.

  • Just getting up here in New Zealand. Top way to start the day, watching your vid over first coffee. :-) Its great to hear its just back to 'normal' life and there just isn't mach to say. • Always nice hearing from you.

  • You are in my prayers. I hope you get better soon sweetie

  • @elvis3700 I don't think prayers are necessary. Just a little lung infection. Anti-biotics will handle that readily. Thanks though!
