mgs1 was never meant to have mgs2 gameplay imo becos most boss battles are easy and the stage design doesnt fit but the graphics are nicer, that about it, everything else original > remake imo

Its messed up that you cant use the elevator while in Alert Mode...at least it should stay in Alert while your taking it to make it more fair.
