@chanderson1 Yes, Countycomm does have it, but at a price of $225. You mentioned getting the stainless bracelet on your video for $150. Thanks anyway.
@crashtest2302 Show me an Invicta with an ETA Swiss movement, 3mm thick saphire, and with C3 Superluminova, and then we'll look at it. This is a tool watch- a SAR watch- built to work and take a beating. Invicta makes nice [heavy] watches but they're not in the same class as this watch.
If youve been wearing yours a lot I'd like to know how the sapphire has held up, and wether or not you've found it to be a good, reliable and accurate everyday watch.
@1AbominAble1 the crystal looks like new and I've banged it against some things while wearing it. the only hard wear I can see is the bottom of the bracelet. Very light minor scratches.
I started searching for info on this bad boy to see if it'd be a little to big for me or alright and I came across this vid from my good buddy, SWEET! Great review my friend. I had an Omega Planet Ocean 45mm and it was a good fit, do you think that this is in the same league for size or would I be pushing it? I don't think I could pull off a bigger watch than the Omega very well, I don't want the lugs to be wider Than my wrist but I don't want some tiny watch either. Looking forward to your inp
@1AbominAble1 It's larger than the average sized watch, but not too big. Its more the thickness of the watch than the actual diameter that would deter some people from owning one. Its quite heavy. Heavier than any other watch I've ever owned, but the weight is what I like. I recommend if your interested in this, to pick up the stainless bracelet. It's an excellent watch and very comparable to some high end watches I own. If price is no concern, I suggest the chronometer version.
Excellent review, dude! You covered all the bases, and I even have the same Nighthawk watch, so when you pulled it out and compared the sizes it was like you were reading my mind. Unfortunately now County Comm is selling these for $ 575. You certainly got a good deal on it!
@dektarium Thanks! Yeah, I picked it up a little over a year ago and I guess they were not so popular then. I'm seeing more and more reviews on it, so that may have lead to its popularity or maybe they raised the prices because they are starting to be more difficult for CountyComm to get their hands on. I wear mine on a regular basis and still love the solid feel and ruggedness of the watch. Its a big heavy watch, but thats what I'm used to. Thanks for watching and commenting!
I have a CSAR and have tried to take the metal bracelet off to put on a Maratac silicone band for the summer. I'm having a heck of a time. Any tips? I've tried pushing in the pins and pulling, but that doesn't seem to get it. I've also tried using a small screwdriver in the small opening under the lugs. Arg!
Chanderson.. i jumped in and bought one.. cant wait till it arrives.... my girl is pretty mad.. so i told her its your fault.. if you get a crazy message you know its from her.... lol jk
i have a 7.2 inch wrist.. i hope it doesn't look ridiculous what you think?
@renagade12 Your going to love it. I still get questions and compliments about it to this day. I like bigger, bulkier watches myself. One important thing is if you buy the stainless bracelet, make sure you have it fitted at your jewler. The screws are a pain to take off and most jewlers will have the correct tools to do this job correctly. Mine actually did it for free. Good luck and enjoy.
@chanderson1 Great review bud.Would you recommend this watch to a firefighter? Do you think it can handle some wear and tear and possibly the high heat? I'm currently looking for a watch that can handle the "beating" sort of speak.(not that I will be smashing it lol)
@blztank You will not be disappointed with this watch especially as a firefighter. It is built like a tank and will certainly handle more wear and tear I can ever give it. Although you may want the model with the tritium, it is easier to read in low light conditions that you may encounter.
Very cool looking watch. I saw on the website that it had an Nato Stock Number (NSN), so for some lucky guys in the US Military that watch is actually standard-issue.
Very cool looking watch. I saw on the website that it had an Nato Stock Number (NSN), so for some lucky guys in the US Military that watch is actually standard-issue.
@DavidR5GTT Hi, yes this watch has a NSN number. I think it is issued to certain groups in the armed services, but not really sure which ones. I can attest that the watch is built extremely rugged. Thanks for the comment!
if you order it with the metal bracelet from countycomm for the extra 200 bucks does it come installed to the watch or separate. if it is installed do you still get the original rubber strap?
@hot2girl1988 I'm not quite positive about that since I ordered mine seperately. You may want to ask Cutlerylover , he has one and I think he bought it with the band on it.
@118118yourgranny Hi, the only place I know that sells these watches is CountyComm. You may find a willing seller to ship international if you go to the watch forums.
Great video...nice close up shoots. You makes me addicted to this watch. I plan to buy it. Please advise how big is your wrist. My wrist is almost 6.5 inch. Do you think it would be fit to me ?
@colemangolf1 Your gonna love it if you like big heavy watches. I wear mine on a daily basis and have had many compliments on it. Thanks for leaving a comment!
@Alinaishere I wear the watch everyday and it is very nice. The weight would be noticeable if you dont ever wear heavy watches. I have several different large faced watches and they all weight quite a bit so I'm use to it. From what everyone is saying, I guess 6'3 is big, but I'm hawaiian and my entire family is large, I'm practically the smallest male in the entire family...lol
Oh...You know what I appreciate about your video . . . is that you shared information about reviews that were already completed on this watch. You gave props to those channels and that is very nice additional information. Thank you again. Missy
Thank you and I'm glad you liked it. I always try to inform others if there has been a review done on the same items just to give you options and see differences in opinions. Thanks for your comment and invite!
@missionnine12 Hi, yes I do still have the watch and I wear it every day. It may be a little heavy for some people, but I really like the weight and size of the watch. It makes me feel like I'm wearing something.
Thanks. Yeah its a big watch and not for everyone. I've always worn big heavy watches all my life before they actually started to become popular so I'm kind of used to it by now. Marathon also makes the exact same model, but in a smaller version. Thanks for the comment!
Thanks, I got the stainless bracelet for it and it really feels good on my wrist. I was tired of spending $100 here and there ever year or so on watches. This one will definetly last a lifetime.
Any the SAR series watches are a great choice for a "tool" watch. They all have similar characteristics cosmetically. The JSAR and CSAR are the largest out of the SAR series. Yes, the GSAR has an automatic movement, tritium gas and a slightly smaller diameter case and not as thick as the JSAR. I would believe it is a great choice for those not interested in a large watch such as the JSAR. I think it is very comparable in size to the Rolex Submariner line of watches.
The GSARs are a little more expensive also compared to the JSAR. Also the GSAR has 20 mm lugs instead of the 22mm on the JSAR. As far as depth performance, I think all SAR watches are rated at 30ATM or nearly 1000 feet.
Thanks. I'm using the Canon HF S10. The video is actually shot in a mid level quality for youtube. It actually shoots at way higher quality (24bps 1920x1080) It looks extremely well on a 50" flatscreen in HD.
@chanderson1@BuckKnifeS30V Yeah I was going to say 6"3, your a big dude man haha I am the same height too 5"9 only i way around the same as you do. Which I dont get how that is. Not to sound like Cartman but im not fat im big boned? haha Awesome watch review, I just bought one today. I need to sell some watches of mine but not sure how to go about it.
Hey, I guess I'll try and post again since the first one didnt show up. I wear the watch everyday and love it. I purchased it as a wear watch and dont mind the scratches on it, but it seems like its holding up very well. I suggest you get the stainless bracelet from marathon. Hey, I know since your down in the Keys, this watch is something that you would definetly appreciate. I've lost so many "dive" watches looking for bugs down there that I just thought I'd plop down a few dollars on this one. From the looks of it, I think I'll have it for many a sportsman's weekend down in the keys.
My friend your video's are pro quality! I would love to film one video like that, do you have to do any converting with the video or does it just upload to youtube? And can you tell me the name of the camera again? Thanks
Thanks man, I appreciate it. It is a canon HF-S10. I render all my videos in a AVHC MP4 format and it actually uploads to youtube very quickly. No conversion necessary. Hope that helps.
Chris that is one sweet looking watch.I love those diver style watches.I used to have a couple of Rolex's. I wear Seiko now.Sign of the times.LOl Video was super sharp.Thanks.5*s
Yeah man, I know exactly what your talking about. I've gone through about a dozen rolexs and at this point in time, I cant justify spending that kind of money on something to tell me what time it is. This is a very reasonably priced watch and I know for a fact that it will outlast me and maybe whoever I pass it down to.
Is this marathon watch durable? Can I jog / play rugby/ lift weights with this watch?
