I also love the fact that Pigface brought a cellist with them on tour 4 this & the shows I saw in '93. This was the only song that needed a cello, but they incorperrated it into a bunch of other songs making the sound much more lush or harsh, depending on the song & what was called for. OK, I'm done. Happy Hollidays everyone.
But as I posted somewhere on this vid awhile ago I am absolutely amazed @ how well Mary Mary was able to sing Chris' parts on this song. Chris' voice is naturally so much deeper, a barritone for sure, possibley a barritone/bass. Mary is a solid tenor-think H,L,T Power or Sattelite. And he just NAILED this! Blew me away. And while Leslie Rankin has a beautiful, raspy quality to her voice (which made her a perfect foil 4 Mary on H,T,L Power) Meg just owned this song in her own way.
@TheCogre Then when I saw this song & Point Blank on the set list I was sure JR was fucking w/ me & I expected CC to jump out to sing those songs but he didn't, Hope sang both alone. I still consider that show (all 3) the best of my life. And I did get a chance to c CC live b4 he cut his dreads w/ William Tucker (R.I.P.) doing Songs 4 Swingin' Junkies the following yr when I moved 2 NYC. Damn, I just remembered Paul Raven (R.I.P.) played bass on that tour.
@TheCogre Oh, but on this song specifically Hope did all the vocals herself. I was so disappointed that Chris Connelly wasn't there. I was 16 & just in love with him (now I'm 34 & still am). I was supposed to interview him for a local Industrial radio show & when I got 2 the venue I spoke 2 Jolly Roger (tour manager) & he told me Chris wasn't doing the tour. I wanted 2 cry.
@TheCogre I saw that same Fook tour @ 3 different shows in a 4 day span in S. Fl back in winter/spring (same season in Fl) of '93. The female singer who sang this was Hope from a band called Sugarsmack. The male lead vocalist (aside from En Esch) who did all of Mary Mary's parts from Fook was a guy named Sean from a Chicago band called 77 Luscious Babes. And Lab Report opened & played with 'em.
@servo1056 She did not play for Shonen Knife, however, Shonen knife does appear on Pigface song, called "Fuck it Up, Pigface!" They did the intro toteh song... "Puck it UP Pigface!" with that awesomely cute Japanese accent. Its Pure Pigface.

Man, Pigface and all of its associates are like the fuckin' hub of it all. All the music today is are little f'n kids who steal a guitar riff and learn how to make their voice growl. These f'kers are true artists. You absolutely cannot judge them with a youtube clip.
@xUbastardx helps that atkins brought together the who's who of industrial music to make the project... nin, ministry, meg lee chin, the girl from silverfish, skinny puppy, feotis...

Oh god. I looked these guys up cause i heard them on a gwar interview. I can't believe how incredibly dreadful they sound. They should get paid not to be a band. i'd give them a dollar a day.
Your all Lucky as Pigface aint been in the U.K since about 1991, I would adore them to tour a few London dates, But im still waiting , so come on Martin Dont forget your roots , as i would love you to have you in the UK Again
I saw this done live for the first time in '93 when PF was touring the Fook album. Hope from Sugarsmack did the whole song herself. Funny that Mary Biker is doing Chris Connelly's vocals because neither he nor Chris toured on Fook, but did all the male vocals except En Esch on the album. Sean from 77 Luscious Babes, Hope, and En Esch did all the vocals on that tour. But Meg Lee Chin does kick ass, and I'm surprised but Mary did a damn good job on CC's vocals. Pigaface ALWAYS rules live!!!
nope... frade not... it is Meg Lee Chin singing. Lesley Rankine did the song on the CD but this is the live verson. Lesley never tured with them, just did CD's.
Ya it's Meg Lee Chin. I saw this tour and even talked to Meg for a few minutes. It was great. Not as good as the tour with the Newcastle Brown Ale set back in the day but still an awesome show - as always.
yea I was at that tour also ( I have been at all the tour cept one!) down in Atlanta. the show got started late and the cops shut it down at like 2am or somthin! i got a pic with Meg at that one!
She must like to meet the fans. She mingled with the audience when I saw her. The last time I saw pigface I got chainsawed by the enigma. My gf touched his horn. I still can't believe she did that. You don't just reach out and touch somebodys horn. lol
@tjburroughs- isn't/wasn't that mary biker from gaye bikers on acid?

@mariomesen The woman singer is Lesley Rankine. She made a couple of GREAT albums in the '90s under the name Ruby.

@aztlan667 No, that's Meg Lee Chin in that clip. Lesley Rankine sang the original vocals, which appear on the album.
