  • USA

  • love the USA chant

  • EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE, EDDIE!!!

  • ii saw eddie score twice and ii hav got one of tha scarf that say "i saw eddie score" warra legend ;]]

  • I love Johnson

  • i wish eddie could do that on a regular basis again so he can get called up to the nation team again . Eddie has rediculous speed and should be a top striker

  • yah ur totaly right. only if he worked well with altidore like davies did

  • maybe he'll suprise us...

  • that was a cracking finish

  • i he cant stay!! :(

  • take me to the grange end want to see him play - wanted kenny cooper but he chose to stay; i really want to watch eddie with you - he is out american boy , USA USA USA USA USA USA

  • You're not right Cheddar

Eddie has an almost unique status with City fans - not even top scorer Ross Mcormack is treated wit such insane chanting.

He will never play for a team again whose fans give him such support.

  • If he was such a favorite, then why did Cardiff send him back to Fulham? And why didn't he actually play more for Cardiff itself?

You say one thing, but the surrounding context contradicts your claim and says something else.

  • example i can give of top level football was forlan at man u.

eddie was so bad at the start, everyone started willing him on to do well, and because he was so bad he became more and more loved.

the fact he was a striker but there was shirts and scarfs sold outside saying 'i saw eddie johnson score' summed it up.

He was a bit of a accidental clown to the cardiff fans, but we loved him for it.

and because he was bad we didnt play him more, and why we wont be getting him back.

  • well i would not say he was bad.

  • @bluejy2006 well when you have to live up to the standard of laying in Europe it's tough and the fact he was being loaned around didn't really help him either.

  • @bouncinblue He just signed with the Seattle Sounders so well have to see about that ;)

  • @bouncinblue You may have been right had he gone to a different MLS team other than the Sounders, but he's with us now. We're crazy as well. ;)

  • you have to be there to understand - eddie received special attention every game - even as an unused sub just running down to warm up

  • hahaha thats GREAT i love how much the fans are pulling for eddie!! cmon eddie show bob what you can do!!

  • ok you can come back to fulham now eddie. Good lad.

  • you gotta love those USA chants. made without a shred of irony i'm sure! really though, its awesome. whenever i'm in a bad mood i watch this goal.

  • Eddie! From Onalfo's Army to the Championship. Heres hoping EJ leads you guys to the Premiership and beyond from a Kansas City Wizards supporter.

  • eddie johnson der der der der

  • what a finish by eddie !

when he first arrived i thought what a waste ... he is showing a lot of difference

    BLUEBIRDS FOR THE PREM !!!

  • Im now a Cardiff City fan!

What do Cardiff fans think of him?

  • eddie is already a legend at cardiff - hope DJ signs him end of season

  • As an American.... thank you Cardiff City fans. =D Classy.

  • People misunderstand EJ. He was poor, early, because of a lack of confidence.

When he's confident, he's dangerous. He's probably the fastest player in the championship.

  • guys a legend!

  • Brazillian-esque finish. I knew he'd come good! EDDIE EDDIE

  • Although when i got back home from ninian last night, i was gutted to find that the own goal was allowed and eddie was the culpret lol! (cos where we were in the bobbank everyone was under the impression that somehow it was dissallowed and we missed the follwing kick-off cos we were takin the piss outta savage) at least he made a comeback though, USA, USA, USA!!!

  • yea i completely agree with samlandon345 below. he had a shite start to the season, probably because of over-confidence (typical of most yanks), only showing glimpses of his potential which was naturally followed by a lack of opportunity to play. yet during his last 5 -7 appearances he's come leaps and bounds.

  • I honestly don't think it's an over-confidence issue(in football us Americans don't have a real big reason to be cocky). I think the fear of screwing up and the pressure to perform had a lot to do with his not producing at first. Now that he has been put down a division and is working harder than ever, he's now producing.

  • don't be ignorant. his slow start was due to his absolute lack of confidence. once he felt confident, he started to play well.

  • great goal :) Ninian Park was rocking last night

  • I think the Cardiff supporters like him more than us Yanks. I'm a big fan but most Yanks really don't like him.

  • us yanks tend to dislike him because of his poor performances with the national team. but he will be a great player for cardiff :)

  • everyone thought he'd miss- EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE!!!!

  • lol @ 0.3 secs

LEGEND! and someone else goes "He's going to miss isn't he"

    YEASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!

  • haha good ears but I think the guy says "he's not going to miss is he?" :p

  • how come the Cardiff fans love the yank so much?? hes not good is he?

  • He had a terrible start but now he's coming good. It was a complete piss take at the start but now he's actually doing okay.

  • oh i get ya

When we (arsenal) came to Ninian, Eddie came on with like 5 mins to go and the crowd went mad lol.

I love Cardiff fans, hope you guys get promotion

  • he lacked confidence at the start (from his time at fulham), but by all accounts he worked REALLY hard to get in good form, and it is starting to pay off. he has natural athleticism, but he doesn't sit on that... he is growing up at cardiff and putting in some real effort. EDDIE EDDIE EDDIE!!!!!

  • eddie eddie eddie, i though he had messed it up when he stumbled though

  • when ali said - 'you can still vote for your fns manof the match' all the city fans stated shouting EDDIE! EDDIE! EDDIE! - he is amazing

  • at 3 seconds..."legend!"

  • Love the moment of silence as EJ takes the shot. Glad to see him scoring, even if he got one at the wrong end too. Is he finally settling in at Cardiff, then?

  • what'd they say 11 minutes later?

  • sounds like the whole stadium holds their collective breath just before the goal, as in "surely he can't miss this one!"

  • I agree EDDIE Is a Bluebird.

  • Haha, I can't believe the Welsh broke out in our chant there at the end!

Too bad he added one at the other end though. Anyone have a clip of that one?

  • EDDIE IS A BLUEBIRD LALALALA

  • Eddie!

  • Good Goals

  • Eddie!!!! USA
