@RunNJump101 sorry but in my opinion it has been military controlled from the start... the info is censored regularly & even images from the shuttle & ISS missions are censored with 'filters' on HD cameras so we can't see what is going on up there... sometimes things slip past the censors, but with all the HD technology we have today how hard can it be to put cameras on the ISS so that people can watch the Earth real-time? And why wasn't it done years ago? NASA... Never. A. Straight. Answer.
@RunNJump101 yes I know.. I'm one of them. That's why I'm so concerned about life 'out-there'... because there are many people who don't give a flying fig about life here... or anywhere else.
In case you've missed it NASA are increasingly 'military' & the military don't give a flying fig about human life let alone any other life whether on Earth or in Space. My point all along has been that we need ethical & moral 'progress' to go hand in hand with technological & scientific progress.
@RunNJump101 well maybe it's time people started thinking about it so that they CAN have an informed ethical starting point on how to treat other lifeforms when we inevitibly discover them. Of course the first step is learning to respect life here on Earth. That's all I was saying... & btw you still haven't explained how that was "selfish" of me?
@RunNJump101 I don't see how saying that we haven't learnt to respect life here on Earth is in any way "selfish"?? Havard fairly clean is it? wow! lol
I love all the space exploration stuff. I just think we need to learn about ethical & moral respect for life here on Earth before we will ever be able to respect it elsewhere in the Universe. We can't even respect higher lifeforms like Dolphins & Whales... what hope does a 'Methane based Lifeform' have on some rock in orbit around Saturn?
Evidence that their MAY be SIGNS of life. LOL This is just another part of the soft landing. Soon they will announce that aliens are real. The next step is to announce that they found microbs.
I like how the reporter said "unbelievable" after the story, what is so unbelievable about finding life in a intergalactic space made up of all the elements that all life on Earth is made up of?... Whats unbelievable is how people think its unbelievable
While I care about the environment, I think it does not need to be a political issue. Complex intelligent life leaves a footprint, and there's not much you can do about it. If humans were to inhabit another world, the environment could be very different and other things could cause problems. I don't think we shouldn't call off any future for humanity just because some people don't agree with certain opinions.
This is a prime example of how the media doesn't care about anything substantial. We may have discovered life outside of the earth for the first time= 30 second bit. Then on to Lindsay Lohan again or some fucking murder.
aliens have been living among us way before we ourshleves started our existance on earth, so many differents races on our planets of humans and animals...,we all on one way have aliens DNA from severals species, some have more than others, some are good others really bad, evolution of one man kind is realy to reach wisdom and peace!!!! who got it today? you could count them!!! the key of live is spirituality and every specy need to work at it immidiatly it is the only cure to save us.

@djerwulfe so do you think we'll change our behaviour if we DO find it outside of Earth? Or will we go & mess it up there too do you think?
We could have already 'contaminated' planets with microbes on our probes & when we finally 'discover' it, it will just be an 'evolution/mutation' from Earth.
But then maybe thats just one of the mechanisms of 'pan-spermia'..
Seems to me the first step is to respect life HERE so that we have the right attitude when venturing out into space.. oh well too late
@ejbh3160 I understand your dismay with us looking for other life, but it really is an interesting subject to me, I think we should be looking for other life and other habitable planets (although this one is not)... Progress for the sake of progress should be encouraged.
@OTSTRETFORD don't get me wrong.. I don't think its 'wrong' to look for other life.. its just the way we do it & the way we either 'respect' it or not.
We don't respect life here so its hard to think they would be any more sensitive on another planet.
I just think we need to 'grow up' as a species & learn to live in harmony with other creatures & not just 'dominate' them & 'asset-strip' environments for our own 'profit' & maybe we could venture into space without wreaking havok wherever we go

If you have proof that there is actual life that we dont have I'd love to know about it and so would everyone lese on this comment page I think.
@maydaymosley The wording is the result of a news anchor with no scientific training who's trying to stuff a press release written by a journalist with very little scientific training, concerning a complex scientific paper written by actual scientists, into a 24-second time slot and in a format that is both exciting and not too confusing for uneducated viewers. Science has had many great successes, but public relations is not one of them.
@gurgle1624 Scientists aren't claiming that there's life on Titan; a few of them have simply pointed out that the Cassini data is inconsistent with current theories of abiotic chemical processes on Titan, and that the data is suggestive of biological processes, and matches predictions made a few years ago about what we might observe if there was life on Titan. The news media then hyped it up to attract viewers and boost their advertising revenue. Blame the media for the hype, not the scientists.

@MutantKush Humans have never had rights. Ever. As long as there's a bullshit system in place, there will always be someone at the very top abusing it as much as possible, whether it's religion, government or business..or as I like to call them, the trinity of control and greed.
