He's using a flamenco style picking techniqe. He strums down with all fingers + his thumb then up plucks with ind. fingers. Search for "sabicas" to see the same style only a bit slower.

Actually, Turan is a name....it actually orignated from "Turan Emperial"....Its Turkic empire, not an iranian empire....."Turan Emperial" was consisted of many of the central asian countries, including Uyghur Turks...the one you're hearing right above. .....another thing is that, We uyghur turks have the word "turan" in our books..and i believe we know what it means. Well True...it did come from Iranian text. Turan is an Iranian word. It means "the land of turk"....Therefore, it simply means turks in central asia and that its given name to the turks by Iranians. However, my argument was that we Uyghurs have the word, "Turan". You don't have to say that "it's not even a Turkic word, but an Iranian one."...over time...we have adapted it.
