You are an idiot. There is no gunpowder in a bullet. There is gunpowder in a cartridge. There is no reason to cool the gases. A silencer gives the gases a place to expand before leaving the barrel of the gun. It is the rapid expansion of the gas that makes the loud noise, not the temperature...Also, Mr. Idiot, if the projectile is traveling at a super-sonic speed you cannot achieve a completely silent discharge. Only a sub-sonic round can be totally silenced if the circumstances are correct.

@jacobwatkins1 yes it was a error that the gunpowder is in the cartridge and I did not say silence I said change the sound if you look up scilencers I am sure you will see that cooling down the gases change the sound. @openarms332 I have something you surely don't, a class 3 license and a surefire suppressor for my AR. It has absolutely nothing to do with changing the temperature of the gas. NOTHING! It has everything to do with slowing down the gas pressure before it leaves the muzzle. They hide flash and keep the dust from kicking up if you are shooting from a prone position. You are still Mr. Idiot to me for opening your mouth on a subject you have no first hand knowledge of.

that an air rifle correct? if so why do you have a scilencer they dont work that way scilencers cool down the gases produced by the gunpowder in the bullet and changes the sound and since your useing an air rifle it has no effect unless it is built for that purpose and uses a different way to scilence the sound

@openarms332 lol, thats not remotely how a silencer works. the BASIC concept of modern silencers is that they allow the gas to expand before leaving the barrel which makes the soundwave have a lower frequency and amplitude. this applies to anything that uses gas to propel an object because airguns build up huge pressure before the pellet actually leaves the barrel

hey mate ,the difference about these 2 guns are that the air rifle shoots just a pillet and it shoots by compressing air ,the rim fire is an actual bullet with the casing and stuff.

you do need a license for both these weapons ,they come under cat A witch covers air rifles and low calibers like .17 , .22 ect ect

in england its not iligal to carry a airrifle in its case but u have to be 17 to carry one that 0.22 cal which are those little led pellets but u have to be 16 with a licence to carry a 2.2 cal gun which are class as airrifle but i dont know why becuase they are real bullets.

@badboyazza2009 Well if you have your full licence I dont think theres a problem, but make sure its in a case, not sure if you should take it on public transport or anything though.

I know the law is, if you have a gun in a vehicle it has to be locked in some sort of container. But yeh I think your best bet is probably contacting the police and finding out what the actual laws are, or maybe your local gun store.
