  • LOL TAGS. seriously laughed about that. Ordered my first balisong from bladeplay. cant wait for it to get here

  • does anyone know what knife he uses??? @cutlerylover

  • @mlhockey9 its a benchmade model 51/53 (can never remember that ) morpho

  • You sir, are far too modest

  • I lol'd @ the tags :d

  • Very nice videos, I really appreciate the way you speak because its very clear and understandable, especially for those who are not english/american like me !

  • Let me summarise:

Jeff: "That is absolutely not what you guys want to see in a balisong video, but here's 5 minutes of it that you'll watch anyways."

Every viewer: "Yeah. Lets do that."

  • Dem tags... What!?

  • Well... after watching this im not afraid to do stuff with my bailsong anymore.

  • @cutlerylover I dunno about that man, everything I am reading says that butterfly (or Balisong) knives are considered prohibited weapons in Canada. doesn't say anything about exceptions for size or where you take it around.

  • @weaselfly it is possibly only illegal if it is used as a concealed weapon. i dont know for sure tho

  • What move is that at 6:36?

  • Hey what are you listening to?

    My Bali 'Song'!

haha get it... yeah not that funny lol

  • haha bali song rythm get it

  • when i first started i cut myself 23 times in one day

  • Jeff im the same way with taking a month off with playing with my balisongs....

  • while watching this video, and playing with my butterfly i cut myself like 2 times! hahahaa mabby one day i can be as good as you!

  • that was class

  • Hey Jeff! i gotta say man, you have inspired me to get into knives and such just like so many other people. Thank you. ever since the first balisong video, i got hooked and now its to the point where my balisong feels like a third hand. thank you so much for interesting me in hobbies eventhough it was intentional xD. btw it would really mean a lot if you saw my new knife video! i responded twice on accident, i have the video on 2 accounts but i meant to send it from the second one

  • I have that sweat shir!

  • glad 2 c ur channels back up , you do some good balisong videos !

  • can you make a video on the trick at 6:00

  • His Back! yeah!

  • Can you recommend a balisong to start out on.

  • Freaken awesome vid!

  • It's all in the wrist ;)

  • I think it's also useful to note that the quality of the balisong is important. It's not that an expensive balisong will instantly make you a better flipper, but cheap balisongs loosen up very easily and their weight changes as a result. They also break very easily and discourage new flippers. Having a solid balisong that has consistent weight and lasts a long time can help gain proficiency which only comes with long-term flipping.

  • dont be a piece of shit, if your going to do something...NEVER half ass it, put your all into anything you do, dont be a quiter at any hobby, it might get boring but once you get good at it then you can be the first of your friends todo that certain hobby

  • in my video i think i have some of the basic skill but this video help me a lot, thanks

  • Do you have a tutorial on the second move you were doing? I couldnt make it out in the vid

  • haha ur sick bud! keep up the vids!!

  • I DONT GIVE A FLYING FUCK ABOUT CHUCK NORRIS OR WOW!

  • @utube10921 Wut?

  • @cutlerylover hey jeff i am just asking if i could re-upload the ''when are we going to see more balisong videos'' video just with diffrent music? plz respond

  • I want to get into flipping again but for some reason a few weeks ago my Kimura went missing lol. :L

  • @Twisted4000 Mine did too.... kimura 3. the tanto blade one.... hmmmm.

  • @FlammingIce Lucky that is my favorite Kimura, I have the Kimura II, lol.

  • What knife are you using in this video?

  • @Iamcartmanxd looks like a Benchmade 51 (Morpho)

  • look at the tags hahaha

  • I really want a real balisong :( They are illeagal here in Norway :( The closest thing to a balisong that is leagal here in Norway is a balisong with a comb in stead of a blade lol. I bought one about a month ago and it broke the day i got it so i emailed them and they said i would have to send it in to the store and then they was going to send a new one. They still havent sendt it :/

  • haha you could easily read the glock on his hoodie as cock with the way they did the logo lol, cool hat though good vid

  • @kaizerij Don't cut off your nuts man. Do not fear your knife if you do you will never learn. I cut my knuckle very deep and took 3 months to heal. So be careful

  • oh and i didn't lose no interest that first time cuz you did good tutorials that learned me simple flips and i felt like a boss.

  • y u no do aerial closings too?

  • I've had a Bradley Kimura VII for a while now, and it seems to be really heavy. The clicking sound isn't as satisfying as your benchmade, and my sweaty hands slip from the metal grip sometimes. Should I upgrade to a benchmade morpho? It seems really tricky to flip. I need some advice Jeff :)

  • Jeff inspired so many people to start flipping. One of the OGs of the flipping world. He's the one who got me into balis. Today I own my own balisong company and bleed daily. <-- This is actually a true story.

  • Dear jeff.

I love you man. I whatch you everyday and you never get boring. Even when you ramble. Your awsome. Keep doing what your doing:)

  • ✭✭✭✭✭ GREAT video Jeff!

  • love balisong vids man, need new tricks for my edc :D

  • I can do this with my tooth brush.

  • Heyy i was wondering can u get them in australia some were cuz i cant find them around my local area

  • diggin the glock apparel

  • Great video. Brought back memories. My high school knife was a butterfly knife. Not the quality of benchmade, but it was OK. I got good opening it very quickly and it saved my ass twice. Never got as good as you are and at 62 will never get there. But it ws sure fun watching the video.

  • Get a trainer to get used to the basics, and to try aerials and stuff like that. Then have your good one ready to go and look like a boss.

  • @kaizerij But that's the point. You have to get over that fear, and until you do it's always going to scare you. If you never want to move away from a trainer or a taped blade, then sure, have fun, but if you want to be able to do it with confidence with a real, sharp blade, then you cannot be scared of it. Practicing with the sharp blade and learning how to avoid it gives you that confidence.

Err, I'm in a debate mood lol. Damn religious videos. :D

  • @iXaos7 once you get ur technique down u can move onto a sharp one for show, but using it in practice esp in the beginnign is like mma fighters punching and kneeing each other in the face full force no gear in sparring.. injury for no reason when you can use a non cutting blade to get ur tech down..

  • @DoomsdayKillz I was just stating what helped me in my own experiences when I first started. Using a safe blade didn't help me because as soon as I went to a live blade, everything I learned was useless because I would freeze up due to being scared of getting cut. The only way I could get any better was to use a live blade and just get used to the fact that if I screw up, I'll be cut. My fear went away with a little time, and I got better as I went. It may differ for others.

  • @kaizerij tape the blade. thats what i did... works great or get a trainer

  • hey Jeff what is the blade length on your benchmade?

  • @kaizerij I don't like that because the fear is right back when you go back to the live blade. I find it much better to just get used to the live blade first as it's faster and you don't have to get over the fear of doing the same motion twice.

Just my opinion I guess, but taped blades never worked with me. I took my cuts and learned from what I did wrong.

  • Jeff, my balisong is stuck in my hand. How do I get it out?

  • Jeff, ya make some good points and tips! I would like to see you do some more rollovers and stuff though! By the way Im gonna post a video response for people who want to see some more awesome flippers.

  • @kaizerij Throw the knife and just get the spin right, don't try to grab it. Do it over a bed or something to avoid hurting your kinife. Then when you see where, try to grab it. When I first started, I was catching it with my eyes closed (bad idea but whatever). When you get used to it, then you don't even fear being cut anymore. Yes, you will probably get cut while practicing it, but that's part of throwing a knife in the air.

  • Yay more balisong vids :)

  • Actually Jeff, I would advise against flipping a balisong while watching TV and I speak from experience here. I got myself a nasty cut that way. I was flipping while watching TV and my mind wandered to the point where I wasn't consciously aware of the knife, so when I eventually fumbled it, I instinctively grabbed it instead of letting if fall. Naturally, I grabbed the blade and a bloody mess ensued. Practice, yes, but remember the knife, always.

  • @NewFormofSilence I flip it while watchin' movies 'n whatnot all the time. It's just muscle memory for me. I have problems sitting still doing nothing, so it helps a lot.

  • Jeff I have a video request! Do another Bali-Fire trick. Even if it's the same one. It was awesome, and nice video :)

  • hahaha yeah when i do my homework i get distracted and end up flipping my bali for a while lol

  • I'll admit it I subbed for the bali videos and I don't really watch much else (I do flip on other of your vids from time to time) but I'm not gonna unsub cause you rarely do them anymore, you are a real ass dude better than Ray William retardedface anyway.

  • This vid is easily going to score 50k views +

  • I legit just asked for a video on this last week :D TY!!!

  • @kaizerij put a tape around the blade, that's how I train my moves.

  • hmmm hey anyone out there Im considering buying the best 25 dollar balisong out there vvhich I hear is great for training, but I vvant the great looking 15 buck one too and if I take the 15 dollar one I could also buy a trainer I can make a key out of or a trainer vvith a bottle opener.

someone help me decide 1 good knife vs 1 very cool knife and a trainer,

  • it's called baliSONG for a reason, I think ur just right ;-)

  • great personality and moves there man

  • i thought the secret to the balisong was not to cut yourself... too much!

  • where can I find a cheap balsong to start flipping with?

  • @brnin8ed bladeplay

  • @cutlerylover -Jeff I compleatly understand bout the wait I am a avid balisong hobbist and I also will put it down for weeks/days at a time!a month I dnt think I could do though!but 2 be honest I put down mainly 2 let the cuts heal. LOL. But thats practice 4 ya!

  • @cutl

  • also i checked my phone at 12:34 lol

  • Nevermind...u said it in the video... LOL

  • What is a good balisong for a beginner for under $100?

  • your comment about mistakes reminds me of a musician's rule--if you play a "wrong" note, play it again so they think it was on purpose. ;-) LOL

  • Which Benchmade is that? Thanks.

  • Which Benchmade is that? Thanks.

  • "you have to have confidence, or else you WILL get cut" hahaha so damn true, i remember trying to learn to scissor early on, and i cut myself pretty bad, now i'm always nervous at trying (even though i can do same level/ 'harder' tricks) and i always fail lol, best knife flipper ever i believe to be judgemodollar / slash'n'cut..... the guy is a fucking GOD

  • you would probably be surprised at good you might be at playing percussion. If you get tired of guitar go find a pair of bongos.

  • I was just wondering if i could fill my zippo with disposable lighter fluid or the fluid from those long lighters used to light candles?

  • how much cost a ballison trainer?

  • Balisong orchestra? :3

  • you look like somebody who would LOVE card flourishes...you should try it

  • I used to be a flipper like you, then I took an arrow in the knee. So I started collecting knives like you, then I took an arrow in the other knee.

  • "it's a lot more fun when you're good at it." That's so true. I used to have to focus on every move so much, but now it's like second nature to belt out some sweet routine. It flows better and it's actually very relaxing. Good vid man.

  • @kaizerij you start off with the easy, thats the point of the video, aerials in general are not easy so you dont start there...but I have videos to help you with them

  • @cutlerylover Hey Jeff, I was wondering if you know anywhere to buy a balisong with a plastic or wooden blade? Here in Denmark they're illegal, even with a dull blade, when it's over 7 cm's (2,75'') Love your videos!

Would really appreciate a response :)

  • Will this be available on iTunes?

  • my favourite part of the vid was you playing with the balisong. Also thanks for making the two balisong vids Jeff.

  • Ok, so who's going to make a music clip with those sounds

  • Love the balisong stuff, Jeff

  • has your 51 ever showed any signs of rust?

  • very good video.....

  • It's hard to type a comment on Jeff's channel, after a balisong video, with one finger left ... good thing I saw it coming and I took a bag of ice with me to store my finger tips.

Great video Jeff, I would give it a thumb up if I had one left lol, im just typing with my right index finger so I cant ... sorry.

  • arials are my fav 2, they just look so fun

  • @cutlerylover wow you really gaved weight since 1 year

  • Jeff, you are the best ;)

  • Cool tips Jeff :) Is in your house so cold you have to be warmed so strong, or this is just armor for flipping?? :D

  • Jeff, you are the reason my first bali is the BM51. Thinking bout getting a cheaper one though so I can preserve this "investment."

  • Hey jeff, overall whats your favorite balisong for flipping?

  • @kallenmaurer no the BM42ss was my "perfect" production balisong...but this ones great!

  • i like these knives i deeply cut my self one time but i keep practicing and i got real good! great vid bud!

  • would de sharoening the blade help?

  • @Nuchuga De-sharpening? If you want to make a sharp bali safe, use some electrical tape over the blade, or some other tape that will hold. I've always had great results with that. Watch out for the tip of the blade though.

  • @Nuchuga sure if you dont want to get cut, but it wotn effect how you flip

  • Wow you might not be the best but you are the best tutor :p

  • they laugh because its rhythmic not rhythmatic

  • @MrOntariofish Im cutlerylover I make up my own words ;)

  • Wow, this is excellent. You're really good at what you do.

  • nice hoodie

  • Excellent no nonsense tutorial can't wait to see more of these!

  • i understand about the whole not picking one up for a while and i like how you described the the whole balisongs are like those medicine balls cuz thts exactly how i try to describe to my passion for the balisong to people i also like how you teach its out side the box one of the big reasons i subscribed to you almost three years ago also enjoy all of your other videos great job love ur vids dude keep goin

  • cool b day 15th

  • If it's well know (as it says in the description), would it be a secret (as it says in the description)?

  • Now i have something to watch when i done with finals today.

    Thanks Jeff!

  • Hey Jeff did you take down the video where you were cutting up bottles full of water with a balisong? I can't seem to find it anywhere.

  • @robbiemcdonald search bm32 gets wet

  • OK, my 42 never made roast beef out of my fingers.

  • @rongallant then you werent flipping hard

  • Jeff, at the end when your just flipping what is that item hanging on the wall at the left side of the video. Thanks!

  • @coreyt008 its a leather strop, used for sharpening knives to a really fine edge, barbers traditionally used them for their straight razors to get them shaving sharp

  • for the suicide drop, try moving your index and thumb higher up the closed balisong when you start, it helped me get it alil better, and its also alot easier to do

  • you wanna learn to flip buy a cheaper knife and full the blade enough where it wont cut you but you can still tell its a real blade so you wont hurt yourself much if it hits you but you will still be careful enough because its a live blade

  • @ohnevergoingtoquit then you get really good with it and switch to a sharp one and make confetti out of your hand, lol...trainers are onyl good for so long Ill make a new video about this soon

  • the tags are the best part of the video. ;)

  • If you seriously want to get into flipping and dont want to spend 200 bucks, get a Bradley Kimura, or Bear Ops b200.

  • i was never really too bothered about balisongs until i seen jeff and his fancy moves, he is a wolf among sheep

  • i found this video extremely boring, professor Jeff.

  • @ModernWarfare2Robbie might be but its good to learn

  • @ModernWarfare2Robbie then your not into balisongs

  • @cutlerylover Word homie. I'm here for knife reviews and you rambling and being funny.

  • Hey jeff, quick question: did you train aerials with a trainer or did you start straight with a sharp blade?

  • @designator99 sharp blade, you cna get into aerials with a trainer but then never really fear gettign vut once you swtivh you will hestitate to do the same moves then mess up

  • hey jeff. dont u notice that the glock shirt kinda looks like cock protection?

  • I've had my Benchmade 32 Morpho for about 4 years now and have loved every minute of playing with it. I do exactly what you said in your video, I will sit and watch a movie and flip the entire time

  • hahaha. AWESOME TAGS.

  • WHER YOU GOT THIS GLOCK SHIRT????? Its suuuperawesome ;D I want one ...

  • @BulletCastDuo glockstore

  • Anyone know some really good beginner balis ???

  • @exonusgod jaguar or bradley kimura

  • @exonusgod hey my beggining knife is a jaguar classic its good for me because its heavy and it helped me out with some airials.....(dont think i spelled that right) besides that it has not broke but just a little shaky hope this helped

  • hey jeff ever had a t latch 42? I'm wondering how it compares to a spring latch since i've heard its a better flipper (i have a t latch :D)

  • Does your sweatshirt say "Cock"?

  • @icallgreens glock lol

  • @icallgreens not into guns huh? lol

  • Personally, I've found that confidence is one of the most important things for learning how to flip, especially once someone wants to start to get into the riskier moves involving a temporary release of the handles eg. Y2K rollover.

What's your opinion on heavier balisongs? I only have access to steel balisongs and it is fairly difficult to flip quickly. Am I doomed to flip it slowly? Most people ive seen on youtube flip titanium on composite balisongs, so its hard to tell if its just me.

  • @fartx211 its cool. i flip with a stainless steel bradley kimura V it weighs quite alot. But its mainly getting the muscle build up of the fingers, and the momentum in later moves.

  • @fartx211 no in fact when you convert over you will flip alot faster heavy balis are great for rollovers and moves where you need momentum, but the ricochets chew up your digits...

  • i practiced a lot while my video games were loading lol. due to the fact that i suck at video games and would die a lot, i got a lot of practice...

  • I will forgive you for your disappointing camera angle at the end if you make a helix tutorial, going to an arial. I can do y2k in my sleep, but I can't transition underhand. Thanks!

  • I can juggle, same thing. ya gotta practice the same thing over and over and over. Small tricks lead into learning bigger and more advanced tricks. And yeah, juggling is dangerous.. lol. balls hurt... even more knives.

  • so whats a good balisong to get that isnt a benchmade? i dont want another gas station butterfly knife...

  • @lostcoz99

Try getting a bradley kimura balisong. If you can't choose which kimura you should get, just get the one that looks the best; they all perform the same. Bradley kimuras are well known for being low-priced but very well made balisongs.

  • @lostcoz99 bradley kimura for under $100...

  • theyre illegal in the uk... doesnt stop me =p

  • Building on the repetition speech: "A good flipper practices til he gets it right, a great flipper practices til he can't get it wrong." Somebody told me that, but I don't remember who.

  • Jeff you are right. I play drums and practice a single beat for hours until I can play it fast and do it without thinking.

  • Balisongs are really fun i love using them but the one i have is really cheap and falling apart so i dont use it as often as i would like to. I been searching for a nice new one, I want one with a spring latch but for the life of me I can NOT fine one. If anyone can suggest any that are less then 150$ or maybe 200$ i would appreciate it.

  • @omgJellyFish

Benchmade 51 is probably your best bet; it is the exact same one Jeff is using in this video. It has a new generation spring latch, D2 steel blade (quality metal), and G10 handles with anodized titanium scales (quality handles). If you search around you can get one new for about $170-200 probably.

  • 5:56 Diamonds and pearrrrrls!

  • For your NEXT VIDEO: Show us how amazing that strop is on the balisong and then do some sweet moves :)

  • Fantastic video mate, and I'm not even a balisong guy, I just think you did a great job, as usual, at entertaining while informing and educating, and I think it was good of you to throw a video out to all the balisong guys who comment, you're very "in touch" and reactive, cool stuff :)

  • whats a nice cheap balisong to buy for a newbie?(prefer not a trainer knife)
