  • too short

  • This is wrong!! When bent toward kinocilium, firing rate INCREASES (depolarization). When bent in direction of stereocilium, firing rate decreases (hyperpolarization).

  • WHEN IT IS BENT TOWARDS THE FIRING RATE INCREASES! NOT DECREASES!

  • @e1g3r you're right. This video just got me more confused.

  • my vestibluer systems was weird yesturday

  • Lacey2682

  • the video information i mean...

  • yeah your missinformed when they bend towards the kinocillia the K+ channels at their tips are pulled open by elastin filaments, K+ influx, depol, yada yada yada, action potential firing rate is increased

  • When the cilia are bent towards the kinocilium, the firing rate decreases....when the stereocillia are bent toward the kinocilium the hair cell depolarizes actually.....please correct if i am wrong

  • "When the cilia are bent towards the kinocilium, the firing rate decreases" -- I think it's the other way around.... the potassium gates are pulled open when the cilia are bent towards the kinocilium, which causes an increased firing rate.

  • thanks for the upload

  • kickass
