Guys... don't ever try learning this piece without being able to read notes easily... I tried, took me three years... This IS NOT an easy piece, the melody looks really simple... but what you hear is the only fifth of what your right hand do. You will have to get a perfect control on getting various tunes with the same hand, or else it will be not as good as it could..... final advice : DON'T LEARN THIS BY HEART YOU WILL DIE LIKE ME!!!

@pian0oo Without meaning to offend, you clearly are not a very good pianist. This is a simple piece with the benefit that it sounds great and any competent pianist can master it. All piano pieces should be learnt by heart, it is the different between tapping keys in a set order, and truly playing the piano, I suggest getting some/more lessons before giving advice.

Great tune, and if there are any piano players out there, this is a great tune to buy and learn, as it isn't to hard and sounds great!

@gardask imo there are several different categories of difficulty on piano: spacial, weaving, dynamics and speed.

Spacial is like when you jump around the keyboard with your arms and you have to land in the right area (ragtime has a lot of this).

Weaving is more in your fingers, its when each hand has a different pattern of finger presses and it can be really confusing to keep two different "voices" going at the same time (this song has tons)

@gardask (cont) Dynamics is when you have to play with lots of feeling often slowly (chopin, satie, a lot of impressionist composers) the smallest over accent can ruin the flow

Speed is when your fingers are racing and dribbling the keys (lots in boogie woogie)

So end of long rant but this song is spatially really easy with no sharps or flats however the constant varied weaving is what makes it hard but that can be learned by simply drilling it over and over again.

@jonathanmarvin Where the fuck did you learn to play? You shouldn't start early in the learning process with a song like this. You may be able to play it, but can you PLAY it? I mean sure you can hit the notes but I bet it's all uneven and out of time. That's nothing against you, but it will hurt you future playing. Fact.

I am not saying that I LEARNED IT AS A BEGINNER but am saying that you could learn it with only a few months experience with the piano; it's nowhere near as hard to learn as it sounds is all i'm saying.

@jonathanmarvin Yeah I can. I know you can learn it as a beginner because you can learn almost anything as a beginner if you just focus on that song for a while. But can you play it properly? Your fingers wouldn't be strong enough and you need a strong little finger to play this piece. I swear, record yourself playing this. Don't watch it. Record yourself again in 5 years then watch them both. Then you will see my point. You can play the notes but are you actually playing it? If you get me.
