I think its great he accomplished something with one leg, but it seems like some of this went to his head. he seems like a jerkoff. you can wrestle dude. big deal.
He just visited my class a few minutes ago at BYU Idaho, I have never had interest in wrestling in my life, (not dissing wrestling, it's just not something I've ever been into) but, that doesn't change how wonderful it was to hear this guy's story. He is an example to everyone that you CAN do ANYTHING if you try. As far as the haters saying he should be in a higher weight class with his leg, doctors have told him that's not true, because his upper body would weigh less if he had two legs.
anthony actually has an advantage in wrestling. if he had his leg he would be much heavier, being forced to compete against bigger guys. without a leg he can compete against much smaller guys. he should be dominating since he's fighting smaller opponents.
@rmsprowler if he had two legs, he would still weigh around the same because he would have far less muscle in his upper body from not walking on crutches 24/7. The kid runs an 8 minute mile with crutches, he's just an amazing athlete.
Like Anthony said..Its emphasizing your strenghs..He is missing one leg-So what does he do?? Believes in himself and concentrates on what he has..His leg would have weighed about 25-40 Lbs give or take.. He takes that missing weight and puts it into 10 to 20 Lbs of muscle on his upper body..At the 125 Lb weight class he bench presses 305 Lbs (whew) and can do 100 pull-ups in 2 minutes..BUT he puts in allot of motivation and teqnique- They all pay the same price on that mat.. 1 or 2 legs..
Those of you commenting on how he has an advantage because the opponent can't grab a leg because he doesn't have one are absolutely ignorant. Did you happen to think at how much leverage a wrestler uses with both legs while they are trying to pin someone? Take someone down? Just plain ignorant! This guy is an inspiration & this country has a bunch of lazy hypocrites in it looking for an excuse as to why someone is successful instead of saying "Good for him!". This guy will do great things!

Also when he has a leg its borderline impossible to get it back, and natural reaction is to reach back for a switch and grab the leg. And there is no leg to grab. He is incredible but Anthony definitely is using his disadvantage as an advantage.
As hard to believe I would admit that it is an advantage for Anthony. Not to take anything away from him, what he is doing is remarkable and before him it may have looked at a disadvantage. But if he had both legs he would probably be wrestling 20 25 lbs heavier. So he is incredibly strong for his weight class. With his new style (wouldnt call it new, but he developed it in highschool) of dropping to his knee as soon as the whistle blows it makes it nearly impossible to get lower than him.

@fierydog are you kidding ? YOURE MISSING A FUCKING EXTREMITY , HOW IS THAT AN ADVANTAGE ? sorry about the caps , just pointing out how fucking stupid you sound. BTW you mad bro ?
@PhillyPhunk Your the one sounding mad. I don't know alot about wrestling, but I do know that a big part of wrestling revolves around using your opponents legs as leverage. Not to mention all the weight from his missing leg is on his upper body, meaning that he can absolutely dominate people the same weight. Now if he was an amputee, that would be more impressive to me, but he was born without a leg, that is a totally different situation, as he never had to readjust to living with only 1 leg.
anthony you are a champ. you taught my friend with one leg to wrestle at a camp last year and now hes nasty. keep doing what your doin bud. your a true athlete and a hero to us all
I just can't escape this dude, first I get a bunch of emails for him and now he pops up when I'm searching for my uncle on YouTube. LOL. Good luck man
I wrestled him when he went to mesa high during some mat time with some good coaches, I went to gilbert, i was a 160 and he was a 125 he had my body but without one leg, he was a freak of a athlete he could have been a all American running back if he had 2 legs, this guy was one of the most classy and nicest people you could ever meet, everyone should have mad respect for this guy
you know, you see wrestler whine and there tired. They have two legs. When i look at this guy, he inspires me not to complain. Truly is a talented wrestler. Can't wait to see his next season.
I've seen him wrestle twice in high school. He beat the hell out of our boy but he's a great kid. It's nice to see him progress and do so well. Good luck to him for his battle back to 3rd.
