  • My hometown of Irving, TX has both the EOWS-612 and 2001 sirens (and I'm sandwiched between the 2 where I'm at). The biggest laugh: during a recent tornado warning issued, the 612s lasted longer than the 2001s in a solid 15-minute run.

  • @killerkiwi369 At 1:50 is the attack siren. The siren before that is the alert one.

  • AAAH MY BRAIN IS MELTING!

  • It's weird how it cuts off the wind-down.

Also I put too many comments on this video :P

  • World's most epic alarm clock :P

  • >.< whatever you do siren makers dont make that go off near my home! (im not american nor live there just saying) THIS HURTS MY EARS

  • this is way better than a 2001

  • ANY siren is better than the 2001, And they didn't HAVE to replace it, there is something called DRIVER REPLACEMENT . They can use much louder drivers instead of replacing it.

  • sooo... loud... must DIE! (kidding)

  • either get a tri-pod or hold the camera still (not to be rude(in a way i am))

  • at 0:55 the wind downs sound like a thunderbolt1000t/1003 winding down from chopper setting 7

  • eows 612's are better then the stupid 2001SRN's

  • why did the FD look at u like you were retarded?

  • it sounds like a Thunderbolt with a Helium Hose Being Fed to the Blower....

  • Interesting, when it does attack it doesn't keep spinning. Seems like it gets told to do alert and then cancel and alert again.

  • we have an old one that looks just like this right up the road from my house right above the old fire station.....yet again where i live in ohio they dont believe in upgrading

  • this 612 is so high pitched, that it sounds like a DSA siren.

  • mom!!! the lego in the sky is sounding again!!! lol nice siren :)

  • i <3 ewos 612

  • Me too!

  • why the loud ones and omni alert cant do much more

  • Well, the 612 is still built on special request as well as maintainece parts for the special request 612.

  • That absolutely stinks that tthey replaced this siren. I can understand the two other 612s. One seemed to have pitch problems, even though it still sounded good, and the other sounded really bad. But this one was a perfectly good one.

  • these are all being phased out to do to age ....and they cannot replace parts for them easily anymore bc they are no longer in production..

  • sounds like my wife

  • loud siren but no longer there anymore

  • This is one of the nicer siratone 612s on youtube. It stinks that they're replacing it. Did they just throw it out, or did they give it to another town?

  • is this a Siratone 1212 ????

  • Siratone/EOWS - 612. The 1212 is the omnidirectional version.

  • Why are they replacing these sirens? I wouldn't like it if in my town they just replaced the siren for no good reason.

  • cool attack mode. Very clear alert, you can also faintly hear some sirens in the distance between modes.

  • Sounds abit like a *t22

  • wow this EOWS was rater close to the ground how high up is it ?

  • I'd say at least 20ft

  • No that's higher than 20ft. It's at least 40 I'd say. Most high output directional sirens are installed between 40 and 50ft.

  • @sirenfreek That is WAYYYY to far down.

  • @sirenfreek where is this siren located?

  • loud

  • 612 and 1212 Best sounding electronic sirens made. They actually still sound like a siren with a hint of Thunderbolt on the wind down. Great video!!!!!!!

  • What an awesome sounding siren. Federal really did it right when they decided to make an electronic.

  • The problem is that these sirens are discontinued :(

  • No actually they're not, you have to special order them from Fed-sig.

  • Only the siren, not the nice stuff like the chime module.

  • Most people who special order these use the Modulator control boxes.

  • is there eows 612 in high low????

  • Yes. EOWS sirens can do two high-low tones. They call them "alternate steady" and "alternate wail".

  • wish ours did!

  • alternate wail = o_o

    That tone freaks me out.

  • If you go to my channel, go into my videos and click on the last number then it will have a video of an EOWS-612 running in Alternate Wail.

  • Ever since I found that video many months back I have been listening to it everyday.Sirens are pretty much music to my ears.

  • Good video! I get weird looks from people like im crazy when i film videos of sirens too.

  • 612's kicks ass!

  • You got that right!

  • I dont like how it stops on the wind down takes too long to cover the area.

  • I get that "This Guy Is Weird" look all the time, it don't phaze me anymore...I remember after 9/11, i went on a siren hunt & a sherriff made me delete my pic his his town siren.

  • i kno wat u mean about people thinkin ur retarted for recording these going off its an interest people used to ride by and blow they're horn at me and 612's r far more interesting then a 2001 they're just boring

  • Mind typing that again in good English? I gave up after you began slurring words for their actual term.

  • does anyone know if they have these in Minnesota and if so tell me where?

  • I'm not a fan of the electronic sirens, but this one sounds pretty good. If I had to have an electronic, this would be the model!

  • I have one about a mile and a half away from my house and it does an alternate wail. I have a video of it on YouTube. Check it out if you have not seen it yet. Its really cool.

  • Do they still make these sirens?

  • from what i know of the dont they now make the 2001's and modulators

  • They DO still make this siren but only for special request.

  • @Siren1000T Really? How interesting!

  • @Siren1000T They'll make anything if you pay them enough.

  • they probably make replacement ones at least the driver/speaker part

  • @snootzie78 They make them on-demand now, I think. The new ones come with the UltraVoice controllers.

  • Also, when it stops rotating whenever it winds down in attack, is that because the county keeps turning alert on and off?

  • idk some sirens just do that i have seen thunderbolts that do the same thing

  • Are you referring to sirenzrok's video?

  • What's a 2800?

  • I get that look like I'm crazy from people too, love the dual tone sound.

  • So that's why, maybe the speakers blew out, and with mechanical sirens, the motors don't blow out much.

  • i have seen on a few tests that they either don't rotate or no sound is present. I think they are getting to their 20yr warrenty

  • Those sirens don't look that old, so I wonder why they're being replaced.

  • great vid when are these tested?

  • every first wed of the month@ 1pm

  • Very Awesome! EOWS-612s are one of my faverates.

  • Great video of the EOWS 612!

  • thanks, now that my ear drums are back to normal

  • You should try getting some ear plugs or ear muffs. That way your ear drums won't hurt. If you can't find any in stores, try eBay. :)

  • lol thanks for the advice I will remember that next time!!

  • No problem. ;)

  • Do all EOWS sirens stop turning on wind down? Just curious as we have never seen one of these in person. Just on videos. Great Vid!

  • from what I have seen they do
