My old bunny used to do that... As soon as she got on my lap or on my chest she fell asleep and stayed asleep until I woke her up, and waking her was a challenge, you literally had to shake her carefully...

Sadly we had to put her down 2006 because she got lame in her back legs from something in the brain that she was born with...

Its not asleep. It's just laying there. When it really falls asleep, you will notice that her head will arch backwards towards your thigh slowly. and you will feel the pressure. Also, when rabbits sleep, you will notice alot of slight movements, like kicking and grinding of teeth, who knows what the cuties are dreaming of XD. It will take some time before it feels very comfortable with you to finally sleep on your thighs.

yea, i've read about going into a trance when they lay on their backs, but i doubt it affects their health. Because bunnies themselves always try to roll back on their backs too to sleep XD they do that side lop thing, but usually their ears stop them from going all the way to the back. My bunnies enjoy flopping themselves into my arms on their backs. So i can safely assume they want it bad too XD
