This game might have impressed me about a year ago. (Although the classes wouldn't have....) But an action oriented MMO is starting to become very VERY common. I don't think this game is going to kill wow at all. Believe me, I think WoW is a piece of shit and its popularity is only due to the fact that it has great advertisements.

it'll be interesting to see how this game does in the US... yes, it's korean. and yes, we've seen how those types of games have done in the past. but this game seems to do everything a little different. the live-action aspect is surely a good bit that i'm looking forward to, but i'm anxious to see how the rest of the audience will respond to it. what it'll really come down to in this game, i think, is exp rates, endgame pve, and a strong PvP structure. which aion has none of unfortunately .-.

I'm looking forward to this mmorpg. It'll be a pay-to-play & retail boxed like Aion. Speaking of Aion, that was another mmorpg that I was looking forward to, but it ended up being a waste of time & money. It's sad for other people wanting to make mmorpgs, but the truth is WoW got almost all the mechanics right & copying a lot from it would give the best results. I don't know what to expect from this... but I'm guessing it's by Koreans, so another Aion-like game is possible sadly.

@feephecz TERA online has a separate western version under production. According to the focus tests grind was not an issue. The only grinding related issue was that players found high level quest rewards to be lacking, this problem was fixed before the second test. The western version will have many more quests, less grind and more emphasis on lore then the Korean version. According to them Korean's find grind rewarding while westerners consider it tedious and they are well aware.

Eh, too much sexuality in the females (METAL G-STRING!). I could probably understand if the character was fighting in a rainforest or desert, but what happens if the female character is fighting in snowy terrain? It seems pretty stupid even if it is just a game.

On a positive note, human females look like they wear longer skirts and more apropraite battle dresses.

When there are latency spikes in other MMOs, they're still playable, but with Tera it seems response time is critical. A 150ms ping would be minimum for an action game surely. Smells like trouble.

i hope everyone here realizes this game isn't going to be any different from any other korean or asian mmorpg to be brought to the states in the last 10 years. it will be a grind fest, the game will be all about the levelling and have no end game. you will have to socket something, or have to increase your items levels by melting other items and it can all fail and reset to zero - another grind.

you've been here before, you've seen this before. there is nothing new here except the story

the combat text font is the same. most of the sounds used are the same. the gameplay mechanics are the same. the grind is still there. do not kid yourselves - koreans LOVE grinds. however western players do not regardless of what other games they have experience with

The lore is completely different. Quests are different. Skills will be different. And the combat alone is enough to propel it farther than aion if everything else sucks.

@blackyvertigo WRONG, AION didnt do the testing stages like they are doing in TERA. AION was CBT/OBT really fast TERA is going into FGT for NA/EU and CBT for Korea.... BlueHole is taking all the testing information over NA/EU and over the Korean CBT and redoing alot of the systems and making the game more enjoyable to both the west and East and both game will have the same core about the out side will nothing be alike. So the lore being redone, quest being redone, exp redone items redone.

Korean, not asian. FFXI (Japanese) was a grind fest but the pay off was the story lines you got to experience. I haven't played FFXI in years due to work but I remember it fondly.
