  • Yawn. Man this put me to sleep.

  • @Alpha7xxx Sorry, man. Blame Miles. He wrote it.

  • @Alpha7xxx Hm. A 35 year old man with zero uploads of his who goes around YouTube commenting on various music videos being 'gay'.

    Interesting.

  • pretty good articulations bro u hit it on the nail , just a bit out of tune

  • I just saw your rock with you cover.. WOW! This explains your golden ear, and ability to transcribe as you do.

  • KUDOS man, and don’t listen to this negative BS " you don’t have the feel Blah, blah Blah...." from the haters. They are the same guys running out and buying Tabs cuz they have no ear. Like the guy before me I’ve always wondered what the solo on the fret board would look like also. You have a golden ear my friend. Where do you go to school?

  • @bryandunnblues Thanks!! I honestly just had to learn and notate this for my guitar jury back in my first semester of college. This was at the University of Denver, but I now go to Berklee College of Music as a vocalist. Not too much guitar in my life anymore :P

  • for sure men , we the same history im 18 too hahah hey see my video of youre getting to be a habbit to me transcription and tell me what do you think ;) ...its so lol the "ufffff" at the end of the video hahahha see ya!

    greetings from ecuador...

  • i think you need to practice the time feel... :)

  • @JAZZWHATINEED You're probably right! Though I think for a young 18 year old kid who hated jazz, I did alright ... especially speak now as a completely different kind of musician, I think I did alright on this one :P

  • That sounds great! but how come you didn't include the main riff at the start?

  • @imavaughanstar Not sure, really. That part just wasn't what I set out to learn for the assignment!

  • That was very nicely done and I've been playing guitar longer than you've been living, if that means anything. Futhermore, I often wondered what that solo looked like on the fret board and you showed me. Thanks

  • do you have sheet music for this? that shits really badass man!

  • Hey dude, great job, really enjoyed that

    Where are you studying?

  • do you have tabs for it?

  • @Farmer0308 haha, you dont use tabs at a music school...

  • @athousandstrats do you / can you compose the sheet music ? I'm willing to tab it out for others

  • @athousandstrats Well, you use sheets obviously, but in all music schools we use tabs sometimes and you know it...

  • hi , i really appreciate your playing and nice inspiration but wouldn't you try to play your own impovisation? to me repeating impro is a waste of time .

  • @jatza07 That wasn't the point of this video and assigment. I had to learn and play it note for note, not improv over it.

  • @jatza07 transcribing is one of the best ways to learn how to make good solos and phrases and all that good stuff

  • really great

    55555++++++++

  • Good Job! :)

  • did you transcribe that by ear without your instrument just writing what you listen ??

  • @richoboss22 I used the guitar for most of it.

  • Dude the song is technically in the key of C major... but its in D dorian mode so it feels like D major, but without the F or C sharps...

  • Its the notes of C major but the tonic key is D.

  • you are right...

  • @confidenceinlack if it's in d dorian it doesn;t sound like dmaj..... it sounds like d-7 (dorian mode) :p

  • @zbalder14 Dm7 dorian, 8 bars, key change to Ebm7 dorian 4 bars, back to Dm7 dorian 4 bars, repeat.

  • Ah I'm trying to figure this out by ear as a request from my bass teacher. It's difficult to transcribe because you typically don't slur notes on a bass the way a horn player does.

  • Comment removed

  • nice work transcribing Miles !! I liked !

    grettings from Brazil

    Dallton S.

  • well done! what key is it in? It looks/sounds like D#, need clarification. do you have the transcription still?

  • It's in D and Eb (or D# I suppose).

  • Its in Dm7 and some parts are Ebm7.

  • Oh god.

    16 bars Dm7

    8 bars Ebm7

8 bars Dm7. repeat. Count like hell or you'll get lost until you feel it.

I'm sure you guys knew that but to say some parts are that is kind of counter productive.

  • i had to do the same thing for my bass..

actually im trying to do it now.. lol its do tomorrow :( haha

  • u can get this transcribed in the jazz guitar bible

  • I found a transcription of it, yeah. But I also had to write it out on my own and memorize how to play it.

  • Brilliant ! Really enjoyed watching and listening to your playing. Well done.

  • Nice Job-I want to transcribe this as well. I'd imagine it helps your phrasing a lot.

  • Thanks! not really, actually... this solo isn't the best for phrasing on guitar. Most notes dont have much shape and aren't too exciting dynamically. However, i'm sure it helps loads for trumpet, which i cant really speak for. I just did this as an assignment.

  • Good work man
