Kirk used to be really good for his day actually. back in the early 80's there was no internet and all of these tools to learn and become inspired shredders. He did really well for his time. i think his "skill" lies in his studio abilities. imo the AJFA solos are some of the most brilliant things ive ever heard and they dont have to be amazingly difficult.

MASSIVE difference, even if they record today on ProTools, listen to what he did back in the day. He had the sense not to run minor scales picked 3 notes per string muted like every other guy did who is now a broke nobody fixing laptops for a living.

I think watching high speed footage of good guitar players can be very helpful, because often, good guitar players have no idea what they're really doing, because it all comes so naturally for them.
John Taylor would be the best to have on here. He has the world record of 600 bpm playing FOTB. That's 40 nps... he is also working on 800 bpm, but it's kind of sloppy (he has the speed, it's just not perfect). Oh, and Della Vega overdubs. His first attempt was fake and so is his new one at 750 bpm.
Dunno why people hate so much. From what I've seen Kirk is a really nice guy. And he plays guitar. Better than almost anyone. Is that not good enough? You might as well go flame everyone who ever uploaded their guitar playing on youtube 'cause they're not as good as Kirk.

@AncientMarinerIM918 actually mate, they're 99% bedroom players, who as Guthrie stated in Guitar Player a few months ago, can't play in time, or in tune, have terrible tone and awful vibrato. Touring players who record in the studio know the difference between pros who can play their rhythm parts reliably live and record great parts in a studio costing thousands of dollars an hour. The Black Album has plenty of excellent wah-less solos that are very memorable, and that is rare in guitarists.

John Taylor would be the best to have on here. He has the world record of 600 bpm playing FOTB. That's 40 nps... he is also working on 800 bpm, but it's kind of sloppy (he has the speed, it's just not perfect). Oh, and Della Vega overdubs. His first attempt was fake and so is his new one at 750 bpm.

Dunno why people hate so much. From what I've seen Kirk is a really nice guy. And he plays guitar. Better than almost anyone. Is that not good enough? You might as well go flame everyone who ever uploaded their guitar playing on youtube 'cause they're not as good as Kirk.

@AncientMarinerIM918 actually mate, they're 99% bedroom players, who as Guthrie stated in Guitar Player a few months ago, can't play in time, or in tune, have terrible tone and awful vibrato. Touring players who record in the studio know the difference between pros who can play their rhythm parts reliably live and record great parts in a studio costing thousands of dollars an hour. The Black Album has plenty of excellent wah-less solos that are very memorable, and that is rare in guitarists.
