i finaly joined youtube lol... Bro...your advice are really helping me out......i appreaciate it man...you are a good singer.......i'm a rapper..but i wanna do r&b and soul singing.....wish you the best man..Peace and God bless
Hi , I am a female soprano singer naturally. I amin the christmas choir and have ben put with the Alot's and i am really struggling to keep the key. I keep on messing up and flowing to the Soprano side.
I have a voice like Cece winans in that i cansing all her songs and match her riffs, runs etc. I think on my own I can start a song in either Alto or soprano but when i am in the choir i get lost. I have a strong voice and so its hard not to hear me mess up.
I typically sing soprano but put myself in the Alto section in a choir to train my ear. Yes, it was quite difficult at first and like you, its hard for me to hide my voice in a group but it also teaches blending better with a group. Keep at it, you find that it will widen your range. I know this was 3 months ago but just know, you're not alone :-)
can you please start wearing a paper bag, your too hot i cant concentrate on the singing lesson, and stop talking so sexy... omg you just said open throat... *heaven, yes i will*
you know we live in a world where so many want to experience what is in t for me. You are experiencing this by giving to the world and now we are giving to you. Thank you. A world of resource and direction will make us whole and healed. This is your part. Thank you. We have no real idea of how many people this has touched.
wow you finally replied! I know you are super busy Eric and the fact that you still try to reply is a testament to your work ethic and how damn amazing you are!!
Love what I have seen here on YT and definitely have had fun so far with the warmups "La-Ga"....LOL Just hoping hubby doesn't secretly record me for future blackmail. LOL "Ya-Ya"
Hey Eric, I bought the AAproach 2.0 yesterday. Of course I'm still on the first video but I can hear and feel a difference already. I was wondering if it the $60 was worth it considering the youtube content for free, and it completely was. Thanks so much.
Hi Eric, purchased your approach 1. It's GREAT. I had used another cd, had a few private lessons and even read a book on voice improvement but only your technique really kept me from feeling hoarse after my lesson. Also had issues with too much air, your instructions helped alleviated that problem. Thank you for sharing your expertise with youtube viewers. Even though I'm old enough to be your mother and happily married, I have to say....ERIC YOU ARE SO HOT!!!! Thanks for all your help.
hey eric, hope all is well with your music career, i know you said you dont' like giving deadlines but realistically, do you think your videos will be out by end of july will it take until august for them to come out
I would go for the 2.0 and leave the 1.0 for what it is. The vids will really help you instead of bookwork. And I find that the 2.0 series contains more advanced excercises compared to the 1.0 (though you have to buy all the 3 vids, but it's well worth it). I do have both series 1.0 and 2.0 if you started to wonder.. GL!
Hey, just went through the aapproach 1. Great stuff! I cant seam to do the vocal slide with the "ee" as in "feet" sound without flipping into head voice. I also struggle with the ee sound in my higher chest voice registers. How can I work on that?
I just want to say that you are amazing, I would love to be there with you all the time learning from you, and listening to your music. You are a very musica being as myself, and I like it in people. You are good, and you deserve the best. I love your videos, Honestly, thanks a lot! You help me out with the lessons ;)
The gospel or rock singer will find it especially helpful, but it can be used by anyone who wants to learn to use their voice at extreme dynamic levels. Pop and musical theater focused singers would also find it very useful.
Yes. I hate giving deadlines, and with the work of promoting this new album... spare time is difficult to find. However, I do plan on releasing some Arceneaux Approach 3.0 vids. The first will be a "Power Vocal Workout for the Gospel & Rock singer." I can't give you a specific date, but I can say that my goal is to have it released before July 16th.
we want more! lawl. Hey Eric, we are excited about the 3.0 vids. But maybe it's better for you and for us that you don't give a launche date, unless your 100% sure. Your tha man, keep on sharing music.
I have a question Eric. Is the AAproach 1.0 more for beginners or does the AAproach 2.0 cover the same stuff and beyond? BTW I'm Deffinently buying your record
Awesome! I love the AApproach (although I need to be more consistent with it...:\), so I'm sure 2.0 will be great too. Now I just need $30...
I have one quick question too: When singing through the scales, I feel like I'm singing slightly off key. Is there a way to tell? And will that improve naturally, or is there something to do about it? I guess that's 3 Q's. ^_^
We owe this man a lot! hahaha As if the his free "sample" full routine isn't a lot already.
I don't live in the States, and as a college student i can't bring myself to order stuff from abroad. But I definitely looking toward getting the AAproach some day, one day!
Thanks malitah. i can sing but it really needs to be cultivated. i want 2 sing gospel jazz but i if its not even a possiblity im not gonna waste my time or money. thanks again. now i gotta find a vocal coach.
hey need some advice in my church there is alot of girl singers and wen they sing i like to do seconds but i dont seem to know how so i was wondering if u can do a video of that for me plz it would really help...one more thing where would ur school b found so i cant take the classes?
Yes i believe anyone can sing. Even if it's a gift there's alot one needs to learn to sing skillfully.
Singing is a learnt skill and you are not expected to know how to sing until you've been taught. Moreover, anyone can be taught! I personally believe that as long as one is willing to learn even if they are tone deaf they can be taught.
MAN I GOT THE SAME PROB ... I GET A GOOD PATH FROM MY CHEST TO HEAD BUT I CANT GET A GOOD MIX FOR ME TO HIT HIGH NOTES IN FULL VOICE--... i might get a tutor
I have recently gotten a vocal teacher who is trying to get me to feel a vibration around my eyes and that area when I sing. But no matter what I try, it's always stuck in my throat! It's very straining and causes my voice to crack a lot. Do you have any advice?
Ummm. i hav a question, plzz answer it plzzz. How do u know if ur breathing from ur diaphram or throat or nose or watever? How can do breath from ur diaphram? ty, and i love ur lessons :)
Im a norwegian blues rock singer thats been eating up your youtube lessons. Great stuff. I bought the aaproach and started week one. Im having problems with the piannisimo thing. Around reaching an F, I crack up and have to sing louder to make the pitch. No chance of making the soft sound. I also build up alot of tension in the throat. Should I drop out earlier?
You should allow your voice to begin crossing over at the first sensation of tension. Let your voice dictate to you when to transition. Don't aim to transition at a preplanned pitch. The sound may be weak or wimpy at first, but the goal is to connect the registers; The power comes afterwards.
Hey Eric, I love how you take time to reply to people's comments. Maybe in the future you can have a board or something for paid or free users to discuss and give personal advices on your site, just an idea. I haven't bought any lessons yet but definately considering them. My voice is horrible, should I start at 1.0? How much will I miss if I jump into 2.0? I guess the real question is, will 2.0 be sufficient enough for a start with no vocals like me? Thanks in advance if you reply to this :D
2.0 is the newer, more in depth version. Some people prefer 1.0, because it is a simple audio version that they can burn to CD or transfer to their ipods from their computers. I would personally suggest starting directly with 2.0.
hey eric i seem to run out of breath before i can complete one scale of the extended lip roll in video 3. and its really hard to complete the lip roll since i know your not supposed to push. ANy ideas what i can do?
eric, the fact that you share you´re wisdom with the world is proof enough for me that you´re a great guy. so, thank you very much, i´m a guitar player myself and i started doing your exercises on a daily basis 2 or 3 weeks ago, and hell yeah, it feels better it gets better. i already wanted to order all the tutorial cds you made up but i live in europe and i dont have a credit card. is there any other way to get em?keep rockin, bob
Eric, i just got your first video, and i can already see results man! I got a quick question though, all those breathing excercises from ur 1.0 cd , should we do those every day as well as the ones from the video. Thanks man.
yea im only less than a week into video 2 and my lip trills still has some break and early head voice still. Hopefully it won't take too long b4 it finallys smoothens all the way from top to bottom
The "Openness Cycle" in video 2 should really help you notice an overall difference in tone, strength, clarity, and your break. However, video 3 will focus more intensively on register blending issues.
Thanks for the positive feedback. The final video in the "Active Opening" trilogy will be available this week. The current scheduled date is Tues, March 25th, but it may be sooner. I guarantee you'll love the 3rd video, if you liked the first 2. It will be challenging, but so rewarding. We'll go into belting, utilizing the final stage of active opening. We'll also go deeper into register blending.
Now I just focus on practicing the Openness Cycle and Lip Rolls. 'cause the other excercises still seem a little hard on the mix register and it always sound break and airy.
Hi, I bought your CD (It's great, and I admire your commitment, talent and faith!) but it cost $30, not $20 as mentioned. Has the price gone up,or was there an error? Thanks, and keep up the awesome work
T.T Now I realize that I cannot 'blend' at all. At those notes you tell me not to push, it just make either a break mute sound or go early to headvoice(sound really bad even when lip roll). Which one is the best excercise to practice the blending? And would it take me alot of time to achive the blending Eric?
Really wait for your answer so I would not frustrated so soon.
Lip rolls are a pretty safe and easy way to work on your blend. Be patient with yourself. Focus on connecting, first, even if it sounds kind of weak or wimpy. I'll be doing a FREE video about blending soon on youtube, to help shed a little extra light on the subject.
wow man. ur awesome. well first i started using ur vids cuz i wanted voice lessons so i can sing along with guitar. but i didnt want to go to a teacher in person with me having a mediocre (sp?) voice. but after using ur vids i dont think i need a voice coach as much as i used too. these helped wayy more than i planned. wen i finally get my hands on some extra cash. im gonna buy ur video.
Eric, a well rounded individual you are. Glad to see you moving forward in both aspects (artist AND coach). Christ is blessing you man! But next time, could you talk a lil softer cuz I am trying to hear the BACKGROUND on THAT particular song playing in this vid. LOLOLOL!! just playing dude, be easy :-)
First of al, we all like the approach and your way of teaching. Your a great guy and artist, and the free vids on youtube should say enough.
But I suggest you shouldn't pick a date for uploading the vids on your site, unless your 100% sure that it won't get postponed. Don't me wrong, we all appriciate what your doing and we know that your busy.
Please guy, someone that purchased the video please post it in here so I can get it free!!!
...
Just kidding man, I've just paid and now downloading it. I think 30$ is worth it once you have watch all of Eric's clips on Youtube, cuz you know how wonderful he and his lessons are.
Hey, Eric, I bought the 1st video and already I just completed the routine for the 2nd day. You are completely right that there is a big difference - even after just the 1st time. I appreciate your help and look forward to the 2nd video! Thanks, man!
im back sorry it was typing mistake i baught the first video its amazing u can master breathing only in 7days it is amazing.. i advice u all 2 buy it.. got question 2 eric when we sing we have to sing with our speaking voice isnt and why it is better 2 sing like that
You simply continue on with 2.0, but you apply the lessons you learned in 1.0 as you go. 1.0 covers foundational basics. 2.0 builds upon those basics, by going into much greater detail.
hey eric i know the first three vids of mastering the diaphragm you suggest is for every singer.. but the main problem with mine is the always the chest voice pressure.. it doesn't feel as light or free when im singing in chest voice so does your other videos offer solutions to my problem?
Breathing is the first place you should look to handle that problem. Usually, when someone is experiencing a feeling of excessive weight in the chest voice, it's because the body connection isn't there. I think you'll find the first video in my series to be helpful with that issue.
Glad to know your videos are now available for purchase. I would really love to see a DVD version of your videos to be released. I just think to own it on a format like DVD would be great to take around so I would not lose any video files that I could of purchased downloading if my computer had crashed or broken down.
Been doing the CD, finally reached Week 6 and I have to say... those results really show!
Breathing through your nose is generally considered best. It's healthier, in that your nose has filters that your mouth does not. Also, inhaling through the nose is less drying to your throat. Ultimately, when singing, it doesn't matter... the air all goes to the same place. But for the exercises, use your nose - ESPECIALLY on the "slow breathing exercise."
Hi eric, i am that pain in the ass that is bugging you for a long time now :D:D
I bought your first cd The Arceneaux Approach and i think i am going to buy this cd also. I hope that this The Arceneaux Approach 2.0 video series will be available on cd and not by download ;) Its kind of better to have that
kind of thing on original cd. That is just my opinion ;)
Anyway , this cd i downloaded was awsome help and i hope that this new video will kick ass :D:D
Hey Eric, A friend of mine picked up your first video and she loves it. She's an older lady who now has out a jazz CD. She's great.
I continue to recommend you when people are lookn for vocal exercises as that's not my forte. Can I get a favor? Drop by my website and sign the guest book? robertanton(dot)com.
get one, get em all? did I understand correctly that when you pay the $30 you can get all the videos? thanks for sharing here on youtube, you're awesome.
Thanks Lewis. The statement was, "Get one, OR get them all." Each video is $30. I recommend the first 3 videos on diaphragm development for ANY singer. Right now, video 1 is available; 2 and 3 will be released soon. The good thing is that you need to spend at least a week on each of the first 3 videos, so you don't have to worry about getting them all at once. After the first three videos on diaphragm development, you can choose from upcoming warm-up vids and special vids for your voice type.

Thanks in advance if you reply to this :D
koial 3 years ago 2
I'm from Buenos Aires Argentina and I would like to purchase your 2.0 version. Is that possible?
juampibaldi 3 years ago
do i need the 1.0 before i move onto 2.0 or is 2.0 just the newer version?
Yumunching 3 years ago
2.0 is the newer, more in depth version. Some people prefer 1.0, because it is a simple audio version that they can burn to CD or transfer to their ipods from their computers. I would personally suggest starting directly with 2.0.

I bought the first AApproach 6 week course and was totally amazed at the quality of Eric's content.
My breathing has greatly improved as well as transitioning between registers.
Bless you Bro! Great Work. I look forward to going into AApproach 2.0
Cheers!

Eric, i just got your first video, and i can already see results man! I got a quick question though, all those breathing excercises from ur 1.0 cd , should we do those every day as well as the ones from the video. Thanks man.
fijian0811 3 years ago
Just focus on the breathing exercises in the videos. Once you get to video 3, we review and improve upon a few of the exercises from the 1.0 Booklet.

bvncbvnc 3 years ago
yea im only less than a week into video 2 and my lip trills still has some break and early head voice still. Hopefully it won't take too long b4 it finallys smoothens all the way from top to bottom
texastakeover 3 years ago
The "Openness Cycle" in video 2 should really help you notice an overall difference in tone, strength, clarity, and your break. However, video 3 will focus more intensively on register blending issues.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
Hey Eric,
The first two videos were extremely helpful! Any idea when the third will be ready for purchase?
The sooner the better!
carousel1130 3 years ago
Thanks for the positive feedback. The final video in the "Active Opening" trilogy will be available this week. The current scheduled date is Tues, March 25th, but it may be sooner. I guarantee you'll love the 3rd video, if you liked the first 2. It will be challenging, but so rewarding. We'll go into belting, utilizing the final stage of active opening. We'll also go deeper into register blending.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
Now I just focus on practicing the Openness Cycle and Lip Rolls. 'cause the other excercises still seem a little hard on the mix register and it always sound break and airy.
cutevil 3 years ago
Hi, I bought your CD (It's great, and I admire your commitment, talent and faith!) but it cost $30, not $20 as mentioned. Has the price gone up,or was there an error? Thanks, and keep up the awesome work
Love and peace, Westy
westilina 3 years ago
Hey Westy, It was originally $20, but it's been $30 dollars for several months now. It's $10 extra, but I think it's worth it.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
Yeah, I think it's worth it too. :) Congratulations on your success. Thanks for all the freebies too. Very generous of you :)
westilina 3 years ago
T.T Now I realize that I cannot 'blend' at all. At those notes you tell me not to push, it just make either a break mute sound or go early to headvoice(sound really bad even when lip roll). Which one is the best excercise to practice the blending? And would it take me alot of time to achive the blending Eric?
Really wait for your answer so I would not frustrated so soon.
cutevil 3 years ago
Lip rolls are a pretty safe and easy way to work on your blend. Be patient with yourself. Focus on connecting, first, even if it sounds kind of weak or wimpy. I'll be doing a FREE video about blending soon on youtube, to help shed a little extra light on the subject.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
I will practice more on lip rolls. Thanks man, you are great.
cutevil 3 years ago
OH MY GOD!!! It's just the THIRD day I practice on video 2 and I can feel the improvement on blending ! 30$ is such a cheap price for such magic lol
cutevil 3 years ago
wow man. ur awesome. well first i started using ur vids cuz i wanted voice lessons so i can sing along with guitar. but i didnt want to go to a teacher in person with me having a mediocre (sp?) voice. but after using ur vids i dont think i need a voice coach as much as i used too. these helped wayy more than i planned. wen i finally get my hands on some extra cash. im gonna buy ur video.
thanks So much!

texastakeover 3 years ago
Hello Eric,
First of al, we all like the approach and your way of teaching. Your a great guy and artist, and the free vids on youtube should say enough.
But I suggest you shouldn't pick a date for uploading the vids on your site, unless your 100% sure that it won't get postponed. Don't me wrong, we all appriciate what your doing and we know that your busy.
Keep it up! :)

hey eric i have another question, since now ppl including me are starting approach 2.0, do we still continue using your approach 1.0?
texastakeover 3 years ago
You simply continue on with 2.0, but you apply the lessons you learned in 1.0 as you go. 1.0 covers foundational basics. 2.0 builds upon those basics, by going into much greater detail.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
i havent got 1.0, is it ok for me to go straight to 2.0
smaids123 3 years ago
Yes, it's ok to go directly to 2.0

hey eric i know the first three vids of mastering the diaphragm you suggest is for every singer.. but the main problem with mine is the always the chest voice pressure.. it doesn't feel as light or free when im singing in chest voice so does your other videos offer solutions to my problem?
texastakeover 3 years ago
Breathing is the first place you should look to handle that problem. Usually, when someone is experiencing a feeling of excessive weight in the chest voice, it's because the body connection isn't there. I think you'll find the first video in my series to be helpful with that issue.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
Hey Eric, how are you?
Glad to know your videos are now available for purchase. I would really love to see a DVD version of your videos to be released. I just think to own it on a format like DVD would be great to take around so I would not lose any video files that I could of purchased downloading if my computer had crashed or broken down.
Been doing the CD, finally reached Week 6 and I have to say... those results really show!
Keep it up :)
metalheadtiddelz 3 years ago
hey eric when im doing the early excersises on video one 1.0 do i breath through my nose when i do them?
JayA880 3 years ago
Breathing through your nose is generally considered best. It's healthier, in that your nose has filters that your mouth does not. Also, inhaling through the nose is less drying to your throat. Ultimately, when singing, it doesn't matter... the air all goes to the same place. But for the exercises, use your nose - ESPECIALLY on the "slow breathing exercise."

texastakeover 3 years ago
Sometime next week; Probably by Mon or Tues.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
Hi eric, i am that pain in the ass that is bugging you for a long time now :D:D
I bought your first cd The Arceneaux Approach and i think i am going to buy this cd also. I hope that this The Arceneaux Approach 2.0 video series will be available on cd and not by download ;) Its kind of better to have that
kind of thing on original cd. That is just my opinion ;)
Anyway , this cd i downloaded was awsome help and i hope that this new video will kick ass :D:D
Cobrahehe 3 years ago
Thanks. The videos are for download only, but we may also do a CD or DVD version eventually.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
Hey Eric, A friend of mine picked up your first video and she loves it. She's an older lady who now has out a jazz CD. She's great.
I continue to recommend you when people are lookn for vocal exercises as that's not my forte. Can I get a favor? Drop by my website and sign the guest book? robertanton(dot)com.

JordanHoweMusic 3 years ago
You download the videos directly to your computer; You can get them anywhere that has an internet connection.
EricArceneaux 3 years ago
YAY thanks so much!
JordanHoweMusic 3 years ago
get one, get em all? did I understand correctly that when you pay the $30 you can get all the videos? thanks for sharing here on youtube, you're awesome.
Lewis1982 3 years ago
Thanks Lewis. The statement was, "Get one, OR get them all." Each video is $30. I recommend the first 3 videos on diaphragm development for ANY singer. Right now, video 1 is available; 2 and 3 will be released soon. The good thing is that you need to spend at least a week on each of the first 3 videos, so you don't have to worry about getting them all at once. After the first three videos on diaphragm development, you can choose from upcoming warm-up vids and special vids for your voice type.
