  • very cool

  • ....wings horizontally.....

  • Dude... At least read what is horizontally oriented wind turbine, before posting such nonsense...

  • Yes, indeed......

  • The principle is simple but robust.

  • Labas, naudojau Epson DC 12v motora, nevykes sprendimas, truko RPM , geriau naudoti "stepper" is printerio, jis turi daug poliu, padauginus itampa du kart LED sviecia nuo mazu RPM Toks buteliu isdestymas vejiniam generatoriui ner pats geriausias galvoju lazy Z geresnis sprendimas Is CD ar plastikiniu buteliu turbinu nuo mazo vejo 1w LED dega skaisciai

  • Sveikas gal gali pasakyt koki generatoriu naudojai, jei naudojai cia? :)

  • The large bottle back sides also catch wind so it is not as effective. I made a wind turbine with a car alternator. IT ACTUALLY WORKED! I was surprised. I used thin wall trim as the poles and i bent thin aluminum is a lazy "Z" shape. I screwed that to the trim/poles and connected them to the circle of wood that held it all together. And that was bolted to the alternator. FREE ELECTRICITY! It was really that easy.

  • I am from the Baltic countries, Lithuanian.

  • @Klemens73

    my video

  • cool man,r u from germany ?

  • hhhhhhhhh GOOD lool

  • Botellas de plastico es una perdida, Esto pueda ayudartes a obtener la energia eolica verde

  • buena la idea pero a esa velocidad con suerte prende mi abuelita

  • ...yes....

  • ____ w w w diymagneticmotor com Go for FREE energy ~~~

  • make the turbine ten layers high or so and it might power a small generator like a permanent magnet treadmill motor

  • Anemometers.....interestingly, I think to make...

  • nice work

  • Yes,not the best design, strong wind it all correct. It will not show errors.

  • not the best design : )

  • Here come the solution for the world energy crisis! =D

  • This baby sucks milk, as does your baby-like grammar.

  • Best on the car.....

  • Hey what the hell? Those bottles should be on or the ground or near a high way somewhere

  • olcsó és nem ráz

  • Always remains in a plastic bottle which are redundant. Made a wind turbine,do not throw a bottle in to a container. You get at attraction.

  • lol it looks very funny

  • Now that is what you call a Recyclable energy source! LOL. Pretty cool design though. Add up your link at Windturbines(dot)Net! :)

  • This is the wave of the future.

  • Maybe Obama will subsidize that.

  • COOL STORY BRO!!

  • that is the greatest wind turbine ever.it is our future!

sir i give u great congrats

  • it would work better with 3

  • It would work better rotating the other way if you are in the northern hemisphere, due to the rotation of the Earth.

  • hawaiian punch?????

  • world will be a better place -.-

  • it's similar to many anemometers and how they catch wind

  • Hmm...interesting...but not effective.

  • Try to cut out the bottom of the bottles... this sould increase efficiency.

  • lmfao dude its wonky!

  • THAT IS THE EASIEST WIND TURBINE

  • I made one of these but used old glass milk bottles and forgot to glue them on... When the wind got to 22 Mph they used to fly off and hit old codgers on the back of the head and occasionally if we were lucky a bit of glass might get in their eye and blind one!! Oh the good old days :)

  • dang it, i could not have written this "my own personal home science experiment" better myself!!

  • horizontally lets it collect wind from both directions... nice work. When you get time, add vertical spires and top paddles, play with those for a bit, for extra surface area.

  • DO IT VERTICALLY !

  • Bravo..Nice piece of art...

You may extend the rotating stalk into a water reservoirl, and place a revolving paddle to it. This windmill can aerate water for gardening, water treatment purpose.

  • I tried to correct this in making more effective turbine from CD ....which can see in youtube

  • @Klemens73 nice english broseph

  • crazycoyle96 has got a valid point. However, there are certain VAWT designs that either reduce or eliminate the drag on the approaching half of the turbine. But yes, even with these designs, efficiencies only reach up to around 50% which is on par with conventional HAWT designs currently in use. That being said, VAWTs may not be good for mass power generation, but they are well suited for low wind area such as residential areas and businesses, and they are much less obtrusive than large HAWTs

  • Problem with VAWT applications is that one half of the machine has wind resisting the spinning and one half going with the wind. These VAWT machines are very inefficient (up to 50% less then HAWT, and have a number of problems with stability and wear and tear.

  • wow your smart

  • crazycoyle96- HAWT and VAWT both have good characteristics. A More efficient HAWT has no place in an urban environment whereas HAWT can be installed on roof tops. Acheiving a 20 - 50% reduction in GHG from an urban rooftop VAWT is better then 0% from a HAWT that will never be installed.

Gasoline powered engines are only 20 to 30 % efficient. Even at the maximum 59% efficiency level of Betz law, wind energy is still far more efficient than a gasoline engine. There is a bigger picture here.

  • thats cool homemade wind turbine

but add some lube to the joint to make it spin faster

  • I think it might not be very energy efficient. But if you play with the light and shadow, it has potential to become a good piece of art.

  • I will try as soon as I will get a time for that...

  • lostorfound is right klemens. It's a good idea. These bottles are pretty damn tough for catching wind. If you was to use a flywheel for some mass at the bottom amd a frame arround the helix using about 40 bottles you could make some significant power for cheap.

  • This is cool and funny lol

    What's the output?

  • Output, nothing... it's NOT a generator, it's a sculpture, that some NOB has posted claiming that it's a turbine...

  • It's great. Can you do a double helix verticle wind turbine from bottles that resembles this costly thing?

    YT video

    Helix Wind Turbine

  • fuck these assholes Klemens its cool even if its not very functional. yould be surprised how many dick wads put colored fans in their yard as art my suggestion is add more bottles and paint them have a whole tier in a spiral design

  • Seriously, I bet you get more juice from a pair of hamsters in a set of wheels.

    Creative = yes

    Recycling = cool

Practical = What were you thinking?

  • hamsters? They need to be feeded ;-)

Really - I have a LOT of empty bottles then I thought they could be useful. And I had fun.

And it gave me food for my future designs.

  • @Klemens73 What is feeded?

  • "Seriously, I bet you get more juice from a pair of hamsters in a set of wheels."

lol. Seems to be true looking at this thing.

  • But bottles don't eat, but then on the other hand, you can take the excrement from the hamsters and produce biogas (eg. methane) from it.

  • lol

  • wow you can officially power a small calculator!

  • It gives power for four (4) calculators ;-) in average winds.

  • lol, what you do with 4 calculators. dude, you need to make power, not just crap spinning on the roof.
