i think that what happend was, he did some 101's about characters he knew about and read about, then he was suggested by fans to do 101's on other characters that he didnt really know anything about, so he gathered the information he could find about the character and put out a 101 just to make his fans happy. :)

Then the next writer wanted it to be the Foreigner, so he killed Ned Leeds. Peter David, who was given the task of writing the reveal, thought the Foreigner wasn't a good choice and made it that Ned Leeds was the Hobgoblin and died in flashback. The original writer came back years later and changed the original Hobgoblin to Roderick Kingsley.

Kev IS very vanilla and you can tell his vids are mostly a "Dammit I'm a partner, I gotta put up something that I don't know much about" However I think because he is so generic is why he has a broad appeal (I'm subbed as well but if I want hardcore info, I watch you, Jtrain, etc) Kev is an ok guy to talk to though and that does give him more appeal. But all in all I just gotta say it's just because he is rather pleasant and generic

If none were against the storyline, then how come it turns out that Kingsley is the Hobgoblin. It would take too long to explain the character till the end, so it is sensible to shorten the video and say to look into the book, find out for oneself. He's leaving out spoilers. I think its fair.
