  • les claypool has a book? I FUCKING WANT IT!

  • Les was cool at one point in his life...now he just acts as cool and is as cool as he once was. Claypool for president!

  • les was cool at one point in his life... now he just acts like a doosher

  • i read the book a while ago and its really realyl messed up and nuts but i loved it hearing him read from it is kick ass!! hes coming to utah on friday the 13th in march i cant wait to see him for the first tiem solo. i saw primus 5 times!! read the book it rules!!!

  • I'm reading the book, it's very good so far, but one of the chapters is 'questionable' in it's raunchiness. I'm almost finished. IF ANYONE WANTS, I CAN REVIEW THE BOOK FOR YOU.

i would suggest it. he's definitely a fisherman.

  • he's a very good book reader =)

  • Wow, he really is.

(but an even better bassist (just so you know))

  • ive read his book and its brilliant

  • *sniff*

  • LMAO "Faaaak!"

  • omg! That was gripping!

  • noooo! he didn't finsh.

  • True or false. Is he or was he a meth addict? Or did he just dabble in it? I mean it's none of my business but Les Claypool is fascinating.

  • That was his brother

  • He's not fascinating if he did meth, he's just a goner in that case. He seems like a talented weirdo.

  • Much Better than a talentless boring smuck.

  • i think he drops acid. how the fuck you think he comes up with some of the bass lines and lyrics.

  • He does man...lol on the blame it on the fish dvd he said "this song is about a trip a friend and i made.. and... well i'll just say it. i was on hallucinogenics drugs. sorry dad."

  • FUCK! now I have to get it.

  • This is how I got it. It's a really good book, if you can apreciate the twisted sense of humor of Les Claypool.

  • sssssssssfffff

  • damn it i was getting into the story.........and then it ended :( lol

whats the book called and whats it about?

  • South Of the Pumphouse. Wikipedia says that it's about two brothers; Ed and Earl. One (Ed, who was inspired by Claypool himself) leaves a small town and goes to life in the city where he meets his brother who is a meth addict

  • I really enjoyed this book

  • lol, and the thing is, the book ain't half bad, as long as you really enjoy the lyrical content of Les Claypool.

  • Shit I wish it didn't cut off when it did. Awesome, though. Wish I could see him in such a small setting sometime.

  • its a good book it has its peculiar moments as well none the less awesome book

  • "So lets try it! SNIFF!!!" The Legend

  • isnt city lights books an old beatnik library where allen ginsberg and jim morrison used to go?

  • He reads it OK but it would have been better with a bass riff.

  • yeah lol

  • he he

  • Could anybody guess if this book is to be exported from the US? I'm from Brazil and now, more than ever, am really curious to read this book!

  • You might be able to order the book from his website ... lesclaypool dot com

  • les claypool is one of the most interesting propositives and funniest musicians i know... and i know quite a lot

  • wish the Q & A was on here

  • We filmed that too. Keep checking back, we will post it eventually.

  • Les Claypool ROCKS!!!

    PRIMUS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!

  • shine on you crazy diamond-back sturgeon.

  • les and floyd were meant to be

  • les always talks bout fish cuz it seems to be a very important part of his life he used to go fishing in san pablo bay with his dad while his parents were divorced and he loved it and htye always caught sturgeon (got this form an interview i watcthed) so anything bout fish is talking about his life growing up with his parents being divorced i think

  • when was this taken?

  • September 2006 at City Lights Books in San Francisco

  • how did you find out he was gonna be there??

  • kinda gettin tired of les talkin bout fish all the damn time...

  • lol the camera man starts getting bored and zooms in and out

  • I was actually very, very, very far from being bored. We only had one camera going at this event and I think it looks better then setting up a tripod at the back of the room and hoping it turns out ok.

  • haha, ok.

  • "Trey askd me to come down to do something with a couple of guys you maight know" I'm guessing... Larry LaLonde and Tim Alexander?

  • wut was the book about and wher can i get one??

  • South of the Pumphouse, you can find it just about anywhere, including Books-A-Million and Barnes & Noble. If not there, then definitely on Les' website.
