How unfortunate that Dan Futterman had to be given a part in this; everyone else was either tolerable, or in the case of Calista Flockhart and Nathan Lane, fantastic, but Dan Futterman was totally incapable of bringing any levity to his role, and it made the movie have a depressing quality that was so not necessary if a more gifted actor had been used. It seemed like he genuinely hated Nathan Lane's character.
This was great! All the funniest bits! "Jes...ees sludge. I thought it would make a nice change." delivered with deadpan brilliance by Azaria. You just gotta love this move!
